“Hugely overpriced for what it is”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014 via mobile

Came here as it is down by the water so a nice view. Big mistake as you pay for it! Food is extremely expensive. We had pasta as the meat and fish were beyond our budget. Quite tasty but the waiter tried to force a £50 bottle of local wine on us. We declined, opting instead for sangria. A jug of quite tasty sangria arrived but had virtually no alcohol in it. What a rip-off. We were also plagued by flies all evening and the birds which live in the trees overhead kept dropping random objects on us from above.

“Great service, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Loved the steak with the Chimmi churro salsa, in fact we went back the next day and had it again for dinner. The service was absolutely excellent and they even gave me the recipe for the salsa...in english! Don't leave Colonia without going there.

“Nice food, nice view, but caro!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We chose the restaurant on its location, and I suppose we paid for the view. The food was good (not brilliant by any standards), the service was good and the waiter friendly. This was probably our most expensive meal in Uruguay and the prices are comparable to Lima, Santiago or BA. The quality was not comparable.

Only place we tried in town but can see why it is down the rankings

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

My wife and I ate here for both a lunch and a dinner and had well presented meals both times. The staff were very helpful and on our return visit, welcomed us like old friends. A cool day, but staff got the gas heater going and we were soon warm and cosy.
