“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

this hotel offer excellent customer service, a very good quality food. the hotel staff members were very friendly and helpful. we really enjoyed the time at this hotel. this was the 4th visit to this hotel. Yet, the hotel management need to renew some furniture, painting, and refresh the general environment. first stay was on 9 May 2009. I would absolutely visit this hotel again.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for a week from 8th June 2013. The hotel is excellent – very well maintained and looked after. The property is huge and encompasses numerous swimming pools and restaurants.
We were in a sea view room in the main building and on the All Inclusive package. The AI is worth it if you drink alcohol. The drinks can be expensive otherwise - £5 for a beer and anything up to £8 for a cocktail. Plus in the heat (it was 42c+ everyday) you need to drink plenty of water, which included in the AI package.
The staff at the RAK Hilton are an absolute credit to their employers. They are the ones who made our stay enjoyable and very memorable. Everywhere we went we were greeted with smiles and eagerness to help. They all went the extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable and well looked after.
My wife is vegetarian and we mentioned this on our first day in the main restaurant. The chef himself came out to ask what she wanted to eat. From that day, all staff knew we needed veg food and would ensure that we were catered for. Special mention to Chef Fatah for his helpfulness and flexibility.
We must mention a few of the people who made our stay memorable. Please pass on our comments to them and their managers:
Laarni (the hostess) who welcomed us every day with a huge smile and ensured we were sat at our preferred table for our meals.
Moses (the assistant manager at the Maarid) looked after us from day 1. He never forgot to brew the special masala tea for my breakfast every morning. Always ensured that my wife had a choice of veg food.
Sabina for endlessly entertaining us with her smiles and little chats. Our meal times would not have been the same without you.
Saiful for looking after us and quietly ensuring we had everything we needed at our meal times. Thank you for ensuring we never had to wait for our drinks and/or cutlery. Amazing service.
Mamun for doing the same.
Outside of the main restaurant we would like to thank Ankit and Roseann who made a special night for us all the more special when we dined at the Passage to Asia. Thank you for the wonderful table décor and exemplary service you afforded us that night.
Wahab made our days by the salt water pool more effortless by always being available to help me move our loungers around.
Youssef and Sreeram in the Sunset pool bar were always smiling despite being incredibly busy all the time. You guys made sure no one had to wait long for their drinks.
And the trio at the Rio Beach bar – Amit, Tariku and Rohan. The highlight of our trip was spending our evenings hanging out at the Rio watching the sunset. The drinks and jokes you served up were amazing. Thank you for making our evenings so much fun. You all are a credit to the Hilton brand.
Only one issue - please make Wifi freely available. All we want to do is be in touch with our family and friends back home.
On another note, we had booked this through Virgin Holidays and flew Virgin Atlantic. We could not choose our seats prior to online check in. The flight there was terrible. The plane used was old. The entertainment system did not work and had to be rebooted numerous times. When it was back up no announcement was made so everyone missed the beginning of shows. The inflight blankets were of such poor quality that they had shed their material all over our clothes. Shameful Virgin! The staff were not as friendly and helpful when compared to competitors. On our return flight again we could not choose our seats. We found out that we were allocated separate seats even though we had one booking reference. I will think twice before flying with Virgin Atlantic again.
To this day we have not figured out what the Virgin rep at the hotel does. He was certainly of no help to us. More interested on the chats on his personal phone than anything else. In fact we managed to book an excursion cheaper through the hotel reception than what he was offering it to us for. Also the 2 PCs sited in the Virgin rep’s office for the use of Virgin customers never actually worked. We were better off using the complimentary PCs provided by the hotel.
We would definitely go back to the hotel but not through Virgin, if we can help it.

Got back Saturday from a amazing two weeks .From the moment we arrived at hotel staff was very accomadating .We was shown to our room which was pristine .Food was amazing with different themed nights . The Italian restaurant was absolutely gorgeous . The marrid restaurant s staff Faruk was my sons favourite friend and actually cried when he said goodbye as I did . Ali Sabina and maria and saiful was also great and felt like friends . Enjoyed late afternoons at the beach bar meeting new people . Rohan the cocktail barman was out of this world and was sad to say goodbye when we left . Ahmit also was a great barman . All I can say is the holiday was out of this world . Staff so friendly and are a credit .I.e life guards ,cleaners, porters and anyone else I have left out :-)

Having stayed at this hotel 6 times previously, 1st time it had just opened, you do not go back to somewhere you would not enjoy but it's now 6 years old and the rooms could do with a bit of an update, wifi access is still an issue, I understand they are going to upgrade, but I heard that last year. Wish they would stop doing the themed menu nights, Mexican night was the most disappointing, the restaurant manager did make it up to us the following night and we have a lovely fillet steak cooked and served by the chef for which we say thank you. Cannot fault the staff and service, they and it was great. Once you've heard the piano lady the first night in the lounge/reception area, you try to avoid it the other 4 nights she plays during your weeks stay, it get a bit repetative.

A holiday escapade at the tip of the arabian peninsula. This is one of a kind holiday experience. The staffs are very accomodating and will make you feel that you are truly on a holiday, to the good food tastefully made- I Love the themed dinner. It takes you to different place at one time. One unique thing is how the pool were designed. It definitely suits the every need of customers- be it on the beach or pool, salty or not. Amazing! It has a very nice shisha space and has a wonderful live singer that will entertain your night. Our room gaves us a wonderful view of the resort, plus the sights of the different water sports in the hotel. It makes you wanna stay inside. Lastly, they has the best massage and spa that will definitely boost your total relaxation package. 3 nights and 4 days stay made it really worthwhile. This is a bit of a late post but I definitely recommend this hotel for your holiday extravaganza.... Definitely a 5 star! =) Keep it up.

Spent the first week of June at this lovely hotel. We booked through virgin and had up graded to club benefits which I Highly recommend. We were all inclusive which i would advise to do as I have heard can be expensive otherwise, you also get to eat at the Italian and Asian restaurants as long as you book included in the all inclusive package. It is a set menu to choose from the Asian restaurant has a great choice on it but we were a little disappointed with the choice on the Italian. We also ate at the Pura vida the last night you do get a 70 dhr allowance which isn't a lot and 35 for children which paid for our sons meal. The food was amazing their the steak was to die for and a lovely pleasant restaurant.
We stayed in the main hotel on the 5 th floor and had a lovely sea view especially being higher up. The rooms are great and spacious. We had a king double deluxe so our son had his own big bed which was alot better. We also got to have a champagne breakfast once in our room of our choice that was included which was brilliant and the service we received was excellent .
We were offered a free upgrade to a beach side villa on arrival but choose to stay in hotel after I read some reviews says the villas were tired. They did look lovely they are abit away from the main hotel but it depends what you want. I didnt find the hotel manic at all as some people have said. I would of liked to have viewed a villa for myself as they sound ideal for families especially being right on the beach.
The various pools are all lovely we enjoyed the main salt water one with the swim up bar, my son enjoyed the one with the slide. There is also an adults only pool that you can see into when you sit in the Al Bahar restaurant we went there most days off the beach for lunch as they did a bbq which we really enjoyed. The beach is just beautiful and lovely to have a stroll round by the villas, there are lots of little fishes to look at in the sea. The watersports looked fun but seemed a little pricey.
The buffet restaurant is lovely I am not a lover of all inclusive but I can honestly say the food was very varied as they did different theme nights the Indian one was our favourite the currys were amazing. The food was all piping hot too. We sat outside most times it was a more pleasant dining experience as long as you didnt sit by another table that was smoking that could be a bit annoying. My other suggestion would be that the tables would benefit from having more light on them of a night as the candle didnt really light the table up and you struggled to see what you were eating.
The all inclusive drinks are good and you have a good choice even Baileys so I was a happy lady.
I would recommend the perks of club benefits especially as you have your sun beds reserved every day with your towels already on and your room no. A bucket of iced water and fruit platter brought to you twice daily that was heaven and felt very pampered.
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful and service with a smile. If you have any problems they are dealt with promptly.
This is a lovely relaxing hotel for families or couples, I just wish that there was somewhere other than the lobby bar to sit with children to have a drink. There is other bars but children can't go in there after ten and I don,t think you can drink all inclusive drinks in there.
All in all it is a great hotel I have never stopped anywhere and felt so laid back and relaxed so if you are after a chill out I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are better fourth floor upwards.
