“great pool and wonderful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

Rooms were nice, pool great, staff very friendly and I kept losing my tablet computer and smartphone in my room and the maid found it and put it on my bed. Would be great if they could put screens on windows. Great atmosphere.

I stayed at this hotel with a group of 14 teenagers after a month of trekking. The hotel were superb! Happy to help with all sorts of odd requests, giving lots of local information and adjusting rooms so we could have the right combinations of people. Pool was great, rooms very comfortable and delicious food. Treated myself to a hair wash and blow dry in the salon which was very antiquated - no running water!

Having reviewed this hotel back in January 2013, I thought I'd review it again since I have stay here a few more times since I first gave my views on it!

The rooms always have a damp smell as you enter them. Most rooms I have stayed in have mosquito nets over the beds, AirCon can be a bit noisy but can be used as a 'white noise' to fall asleep too! Beds are comfortable, sometimes the bath can fill up if having a shower as the plug is very close to plughole and can take ages to empty (if at all!!)

The pool is excellent very clean, lifeguard on duty, free towels, Pool bar with service to pool area.
Staff very welcoming and lots of them willing to help. Restaurant service can be a bit slow and food quality is just above average. All the rooms I've stayed in are always the same, twin beds, TV, Bathroom, A/C.

Room Tip: Remove bath plug before showering!

The Laico Entebbe is a solid 3 star hotel - the pool is great, the food is pretty good, and the rooms are clean.Same day laundry service was great. Also, the housekeeping is consistent-so your room is kept tidy, and then sprayed for mosquitoes at night. Wait times at the restaurant were not that bad, although if you go to peak dinner time you get a wait anywhere in the world.
Room size is small, there is ample lighting, and a small tv with about 8 channels. You do need to request an iron or hot water kettle - just ask at the front desk.

Great gift shop has coffee, carvings, soccer jerseys, and just a bit of everything - super convenient! Didn't use the salon or business center(although their printer was having some issues)

Only a few negatives: the internet is spotty, and not consistent - which for business travel is inconvenient(bring a cable!). The light from the AC is bright, so there's a blue glow to the room at night(bring an eye mask if you are sensitive). Also if you are up late having dinner, there can be a more than a few ladies of the night wandering around the lobby...sigh.

My husband, friends and I stayed at the Lake Victoria Hotel for 1 night, at the start of our trip to East Africa. The grounds were beautiful, the continental breakfast was delicious and the rooms were very clean and well appointed, though small. We wish we had a chance to enjoy the pool, as it looked lovely. The location was less than 10 minutes to the Entebbe airport, so after a 30+ hour journey to Uganda, it was the perfect location.
All of the rooms have mosquito nets, though we didn't need ours. I would stay here again, if ever in Entebbe.

Fairly close to the airport. Rooms are average. Pool area looked nice. Prices for the spa were very reasonable. Unfortunately, we did not have an opportunity to schedule an appointment. Food was below average. Service in the restaurant was good--no delays I read about in other reviews.

We began and ended our Uganda adventure at this location due to its proximity to the airport. The first time the food was fine, the room was okay. When we returned for our last night, our bathroom door didn't close, the bathroom fan made a horrendous noise and the staff really didn't care. As I waited to turn in my key I witnessed them all standing doing nothing while the phone rang. By the time they bothered to pick it up, it was obvious the answering service did this. They have security going in due to the UN presence in the area, and we were told that if we wished to walk outside the property to leave all items behind - to me that means it's not safe.

Room Tip: Be careful as opening curtain for some rooms allows people wandering perpendicular halls to look ins...
