My girlfriend & I arrived at the hotel last Thursday in the early hours (just as the sun started to rise) and were dealt with quite efficiently by 2 friendly but clearly tired staff who were expecting us and another couple. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a decent view. The room was sparse but looked clean & tidy with only a couple of things that needed a little 'fixing up' (the wall around the door had clearly taking a beating).
Our attempts at catching up with some sleep on the first day was a little broken due to regular door banging, this could be improved upon by better fitting doors or dampers as it did seem quite impossible to close them quietly.
The Hotel was well situated being very close to the bus route (Number 3) and 5 mins walk away from lots of shops, bars & restaurants in the area - far enough away from these not to be continuously blasted away by the loud & competing music from those bars. The pool was lovely as was the planting/flowers; the dining area & outdoor seating, there were a good number of sunbeds and these appeared to be well looked after.
On the whole, our stay at the hotel was very good, most of the staff were generally friendly and helpful, my only significant bugbear being that one of them (Jack I think) was quite pushy in his suggestions that we stay at the hotel to eat......... the reason for this became apparent when we were chatting to 'Jack' who said that the Hotel was only being paid £2.00 per night by Goldtrail who had promised to fill the hotel with guests that would eat & drink there, thereby providing them with more income.
We had 2 'hiccups', the first one being the news of Goldtrail's demise which cost us 2 trips that we had already paid for and resulted in an additional cost to our holiday of £80.00 (for 4 nights stay) as the hotel manager would not accept the statement from the CAA. The other was the lack of a breakfast one morning when we arrived in the dining area with 10 minutes to spare, only to be left unattended until I asked for breakfast and was told that it had finished-bang out of order! We did go to a bar close by and I had a very good English breakfast for only 5TL (approx £2.20), my girlfriend had a Turkish breakfast, which was slightly more expensive but was better than the more basic but adequate breakfast normally provided by the Hotel.
We paid very little for our holiday, apart from the obvious additional costs & spending money, and had a fabulous time - the hotel was comfortable and an absolute bargain for the amount paid. We would certainly have another holiday at this hotel.
