“very good apartments”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2010

Had a great time on our 10 night holiday
Had our 3 yr old grandson who had a ball in kids pool and adults pool.
Thanks to Kirsty in the kids club my Grandson thoroughly enjoyed the kids club although he had been adament he wasn't going at first.
We ate quite often in a place round the corner called"Villa Dreams".
The portion were massive and very nice, and you then got a voucher for a free breakfast for the next day . The staff there were very nice and not pushy like in most other places.
Club Candan is very clean and modern. It was my 3rd visit to Marmaris and if i was to visit again i Would certainly pick Club Candan again.

Stayed at the Club Candan for a week in May. Arrived late at night from Belfast . Hotel staff were very helpful. The pool area and the rooms were well kept and very clean. I would recommend this hotel as it is clean and child friendly. If you are flying with Thompson wait and buy water in the bus on transfer as it is only 50pence. Would recommend Pierre Loti for food its a great resturant and the staff are lovely. Hello to Ozzy and Huseyin. Keep the room until 6pm for 20 pounds if you have a late flight home then go and have a meal and the time passes quickly. Do haggle when buying and if you go to the market on Thursday be prepared for a terrible time!!!!

I travelled to Club Candan with a group of 49 friends and family with ages ranging from 1 - 55.

The hotel is very clean and rooms very spacious. No toaster or microwave but a great pannini press!

Pools are great. The childrens pool has an octopus in the centre with 3 slides coming off it. The main pool has a large slide that operates from 10.30 - 1.30 and 2.30 til 4.30. The slide is great for adults too. There are no height restrictions for young children so my 4 year old was pleased with that!

Food in hotel was great, although a little more expensive than those restaurants just outside - same for the alcohol!

Hotel is right next to a mosque which chants out 3 or 4 times a day - the first being at 5.00am - although this did not wake us up at all!

Location is great, little shop just outside the hotel - dont use the hotel shop as it will cost you literally twice as much! Many restaurants within a minute walk, beach about a 5 minute walk. The beach is not great - its more like dirty dust than sand!

Boat trip cost us £12 per person all inclusive of food and drinks and all children free - you have to negotiate for the best deal!

There is a tattooist and hairdresser / nail bar on complex.

Enterainment in hotel is great for kids.

All in all a great holiday and I would definately recommend!

Stayed at Club Candan for 1 week from 1st May - 8th May. Had a fabulous holiday, staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The food was lovely! We ate out on the 1st day at an English owned apartment round the corner from Club Candan to find a small spider on my plate half way through eating and something dead inside the lid of a fruit shoot i was about to give my 2yr old son. Once this happened we then decided to eat at Club Candan and found that this was were we ate every night as the hotel was spotless. We did eat out one night at a Chinese not far from our hotel which was also very nice. The pool and slides were very good and the rooms were cleaned every day. We also got freindly with the hairdressing staff who were lovely, i got my hair done in there which i loved and my partner got a shave of which he said he has never had one like that before. He said it made him feel very refreshed. We had a Turkish bath at the hotel which was also lovely, its advised to have this at the start of your holiday. The kids were entertained day and night, while we were there we celebrated my sons 2nd birthday, the hotel made a fuss of him and made his day special for him. We ordered him a cake of which we paid for but the hotel organised everything, all we did was hand the 25lira over. The only that dissapointed us was the amount of money spent. We were advised not to go all inclusive as Turkey was so cheap to eat out, we did not find this and spent alot more money than planned. Turkey is not cheaper than anywhere else. Since going alot people have told that prices have gone up drastically over the last year. I would definately visit this hotel again as a self catering hotel especially with children but if we where to go to Turkey again i think it would be an All Inclusive holiday.

Arrived exhausted, late at night. Flew from Birmingham, which was abit of a joke. Really unfriendly people and the food in Yates was terrible. We were put right at the back of the plane, with the wall behind us, so seemingly no room. We were travelling with our 5 year old and 1 year old daughters, so it was very difficult to keep them entertained on the plane for almost 5 hours. The couple in front of us ( red wine sipping novel readers, typically early 50's), were very non understanding at our predicament and kept shaking their heads and tutting throughout the flight. Their selfish demeanour made us feel very uncomfortable indeed. In fact I dreaded coming home, in case we had to sit near to them again. (Thomson flight).
Anyway, back to the Candan. Lovely pool, we got the first apartment on the right on the groundfloor, which is a bit of a goldfish bowl as everyone walks by, so I made a point of walking around naked at regular intervals within the room, to give them something to view. We were very suprised at how modern and clean it was, although a tad noisy if you wanted an early night.
Speaking of noise, although we were in a muslim country, the Mosque is only a stones throw away and WILL wake you up at dawn. That is unless you're deaf or drunk or both.
It is about 10 mins from the front and is a nice walk with the exception of all the Turks accosting you en route, with offers of excursions, food, shaves and haircuts.
We ate in the vast majority of the main restuarants in Marmaris and we found it exceptional value, especially with the Euro so rubbish at the minute.
This place is definately worth a ride out to, although be prepared for the journey, especially if you have little ones because its epic!!!

from the airport it takes a while to get to the hotel and when you get there, there is two different resort parts to the hotel the main one we saw on the website was a good 10mins away from the one we stayed in. the place is walking distance to the beach about 10min and to the clubs it is about 15mins and if you wanted to go into the central part it was about 20mins. the location looked like a bit of a building site. the hotel on its own was clean as we had cleaners everyday. the apartment was fairly big and had most things you would need. we payed 450 in august for 6days and i felt it was alot of money for self catering for such a place. overall it was a good holiday but the entertainment side at the hotel was not great. most of the time we would go into the centre.
