well, how much have i been wanting too write this for the last two weeks?!

After reading the reviews my family were abit confused as to what to believe so we decided to just hope for the best. We got to the hotel in the early morning just in time for breakfast to start after a long 2 hour journey from the airport to the hotel. We were disgusted to find that the breakfast was surrounded by flies as nothing was covered up. There were stale wafer sticks and soggy biscuits up for grabs along with eggs covered in flies. The dinner and tea wasnt much better as there wasnt alot to choose from, So we ended up walking about 10-15 minutes down into the city centre to get a kebab on the evenings as we were starting to feel hungry. The drinks were watered down and the water made some people ill. Most people got food poisoning and bad bellies.

Going into the first week we were asked to go on a boat trip called 'moonlight cruise'. DO NOT be tempted into it! 4 of us went, expecting to go to all these different places advertised which didnt happen. The staff that you ordered drinks from wouldnt tell you the prices of the drinks, and a good thing they didnt! For 3 cokes and 2 small beers, the total came up to 30 lira! We know that it is only the equvilent to £15 English but even that works out as double the price. Another man on the trip had 7 people on the boat and their bill came up to 50 lira.

The shop in the actual hotel grounds was a bit of a rip off. My cousin brought a packet of cigarrettes and she got charged 7 lira. The next day she went back for some more and was charged 11 lira. My mum went into the shop and asked how much a packet was and he said 7 lira so she mentioned that he over charged my cousin. He had a row with her to try cover himself. Another time my sister wanted to use the internet so we paid 5 lira for half an hour. The owners nephew or son was looking after the shop and made some rude comments to myself and my cousin. He also tried charging 1 lira for a tiny lollipop when the actual owner said that it was 4 for 1 lira, so i reccommend going to the shop down the road towards the beach. (The beach is a nice distance away from the hotel).

Another thing is that the entertainment doesnt come on untill 11ish and only lasts for 15 minutes usually, so just get up and join in whenever you can so that you actually enjoy it. It does tend to repeat itself each week.

I must say that most of the staff were very very friendly. The reception staff were useless as they only choose to hear what they wanted to and if they didnt then the answer was 'i dont understand'. My mother booked 2 rooms, one with 2 beds in and another with 3 beds in, and it wasnt until the evening that they actually gave me a bed after being asked 3 times by us and eventually only done it because we complained to the rep. (that was the only time we actually saw the rep all holiday and im not even sure that he was our rep!!!) Mainly the bar staff are friendly. As long as you were polite to them they would be polite back and have a bi of a luagh and joke with you. Also the photo corner has lovely people in. Ozzie is an excellent photographer and we got to know him very well because even after we paid for our shoot he still bothered to come and chat to us whenever he could, so i strongly recommend having a nice photo shoot done, it is a lovely experience and the results are gorgeous.

To sum up the hotel, id say if you have already booked there then put some weight on before you go! You'll need it too fall back on whilst you barely eat for the duration of your holiday. And buy bottled water, dont drink the water that you can get from the dispensers because although its 'bottled water' it made my sister sick for about 3 days and she couldnt hold anything down.

I have just returned from Sun Maris Park after spending 2weeks with my daughter and 6year old grandaughter.I like many others read reviews before going,my first thought was oh my god what have we let ourselves in for.We arrived at 4am and was very pleasantly surprised,we were met at the coach and shown to our room after booking in.The hotel was a very pleasant surprise, central to all ameneties, the food was good, the staff exceptionally pleasant and polite.I have no complaints whatsoever about the hotel, food, staff, room etc.It is beyond me why some people bother to go on holiday in foreign countries when all they do is to moan and complain from start to finish.Remember, your holiday is what you make it and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Thank you to all the staff at Sun Maris Park for making our holiday such an enjoyable experience.OK some of the staff cannot speak English but how many of us can speak a foreign language when tourists come to Britain. Think on,give the staff a chance they work hard and long hours. It must be very soul destroying when they get so many complaints,I would definitely go again.

When i booked this hotel, i came home and read the reviews, i saw all the bad ones and thought they must be wrote by toffs, the ones who have a moan about everything, but trust me i wish i had taken more notice

im a working class 24 year old man, i went with my girlfriend to this 4* hotel, when we arrived to the hotel we were greated by this rude and arragent check in bloke, he took us to our room, which was ok, i cant really moan about the room, average but clean apart from the bed which was rock hard and been there since 1920, well that what it felt like.

We settled down and unpacked, when we came down for breakfast, there were 3 options none named or tagged, 17 dips none named or tagged, when i asked a member of staff, they all said they did not no what the food was or the dips, even the chef was unsure, all the food were covered in flies, breakfast, lunch, dinner the flies were all over it, food same every other day, we never saw any of the staff eat the food made for guests thats how bad it was.

my girl friend had the runs due to the food and so called bottled water which we found out was tap water poured into a water dispencer. All drinks were watered down, it was the worst hotel ive ever stayed in.

the only good part about the hotel were the outside buissness which are not connected to the hotel but do work from there, Jamie who runs the shop, very cheeky but a great laugh top bloke, the tattoo bloke, no name but a proper gent and not forgetting the hairdresser/barber, spoke very little english but tried his best to talk to you.

These 3 made out stay fun and fresh, but the actual staff who work at the hotel are all rude not one was nice or friendly.

i no this review is bad but i have to let everyone no so you dont make the same mistake as we did.
