“Just OK!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Please read this review if you are thinking of staying at this hotel, I am always honest and don't moan about minor things.
I have just come back last night and this is the first all inclusive holiday I have been on, I must say that I was impressed with the quality of the food throughout the day. I was less impressed with the beer I would go as far to say that the EFIS was 0% alcohol!!!
The staff were helpful but in no way friendly I felt like asking for a drink was asking for the world but it did not cause any real issues.
Not that it was an issue for me but I did hear some guest complaining that there was no entertainment in the evenings as advertised, so if that what you want from the holiday this might be an issue.
Very minor thing was the WIFI that was very poor...but I agree I should not have been on my phone on holiday!!!!
In the hotel they have a barber I have to say the staff were excellent and the quality of the shave was out of this world and only £5. The onsite spa is again fantastic, the boss is a bit pushy with the sales patter but I am glad he was the Turkish bath was spot on.
Now for a few issues that did bother me, we were there for 5 day and the towels were never changed the beds were made each day but that was it no cleaning was done and the toilet rolls were never replenished. We had three beds in the room and I had to go searching for sheets and pillows and sort the bed myself.
The location of the hotel is nice being on the beach and the sourounding local bars are very good.
I was there on a lads holiday with a group of an age range of 38 - 72 so we were not looking for a big party hotel but it did fall below our expectations.
This i a 2 Star hotel if you know what your getting you will enjoy it.

Room Tip: The larger rooms in the opposite building are good.

Caprice Beach Hotel is nearly a 2 hour drive from Dalaman airport. It is set in a nice location, right on the beach overlooking the sea. After an initial problem on arrival with our room, (we had paid for an upgrade for a sea view), but were given a room over looking some dustbins, we eventually sorted this out and the view from our balcony was simply wonderful and it was a great suntrap. The room was large with a seperate seating area, ample wardrope space and the bathroom with shower was adequate. There was a safety deposit box in the room which incurred an extra charge. There was also a TV and fridge in the room which had a complimentary bottle of water. The room had air conditioning. Towels were changed every day.

We were all inclusive. The restaurant was of decent size with an outdoor seating area overlooking the bar area and the beach front. Breakfast had the usual choice of cereals, fruits, breads, yoghurt, cakes, some hot dishes though most were cold, and omelettes were made to order. Lunch menu was always good with a very good choice of salad dishes as well as various hot dishes. Dinner menu was sometimes a bit more limited though there was always plenty of salad dishes to choose from. There was usually a fish, meat or chicken dish on offer. The only complaint regarding food in the restaurant at lunch and dinner times was that nothing was labelled so sometimes it was difficult to know what some foods were.

Outside there was a large pool area with plenty of sunbeds and sunbeds and parasols were also available free of charge on the beach area at the hotel. There were 2 large slides at a seperate pool area and a kiddies play park also within the hotel area. A small shop was on site. There was also a Hairdressers and a very good Turkish Bath and Spa which offered various treatments and massage etc at an extra cost. The hotel also had its own gymnasium.

The hotel was let down by the entertainment programme. Most nights there was entertainment in the bar area around 10pm. However this only lasted about 15 to 20 minutes max. Not sure if the reason for this was because October is out of season.

Caprice Beach Hotel is set in a good location about a 5 to 10 minute bus ride from the centre of Marmaris. There are plenty of shops and bars and restaurants along the main road outside the front of the hotel. The small dolmus buses are very regular and only cost around 2 turkish lira and run till quite late at night. Marmaris itself has a lovely harbour front with pavement cafes to wile away the hours and also a large bizarre full of shops.

Had a lovely holiday here. Would definitely come back to Marmaris area but would probably choose a different hotel with better evening entertainment.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are lovely. However music from bar area can be heard until 1pm.

Our family of four (two boys aged 11 and 15) arrived at 11 am on Aug 25. We were asked to wait in the warmish yet pleasant lobby area by a polite receptionist 'till 12, before we were to be issued our A.I. 'bands'.

We strolled down to the beach to find quite a few sunbeds still unoccupied. The sand is quite gritty until you reach the water's edge, where the aggregate becomes much larger. This means the heavier you are, the more painful to walk on it becomes. At 12 we returned to the reception and were led to our room which was in the block opposite.

The hotel grounds, buildings etc. are very clean as are the rooms which were however a little small for four. There is a double bed in the bedroom with a single in the living area plus a bed settee. There was only one air con. unit (located in the living area) which was just adequate. We enquired about moving rooms to have air con. in both areas and they were happy to do so, however this would result in a loss of our pool/sea veiw.

Breakfast starts at 7.00 and at this time you can have your pick of sunbeds around the pool. By 8.15 there are still only about 10% taken. Breakie is geared toward the Turks, Arabs and the now legendary ignorant Russians of which there are many with cheeses, hams, tomatoes, olives, breads and fresh fruit etc..
Cereals are available but the milk's not the best. The 'omelette man' doesn't start his shift 'till 8ish and everyone seems to want one. Lunch and dinner are similar; there's always plenty of salad and usually around 8 selections of hot dishes with a couple of veggie options. The desserts are typically Turkish very samey and very sweet. The best one is the one served in the takeaway-style foil tray which is a creamy rice pudding. There's also no ice cream available. I'd recommend you arrive at the start of service at these two times as it can become busy.

The All Inc drinks throughout the day and night are served in very small cups, and when you're thirsty they're 3/4 mouthfuls at best, the beer however is in a larger cup, maybe 1/3 pint and if you're not around the pool you might be lucky and get a half pint glass for your Effes. After 11pm the drinks have to be paid for, except for the odd water machines that are scattered around.

The entertainment through the day is one game of water polo (if you're lucky) where all the players look the same as there are no red/blue caps as I 've experienced at other hotels. As for the evening entertainment, this takes place in the beach bar with a DJ playing everything from 50 Cent to a belly dancing soundtrack. At 10.40 the hotel's evening entertainment arrives: think of the worst of Britain's Got Talent acts and you've got it!

The hotel is right on the beach and you can walk in one direction to Marmaris and in the other to Icmeler, both 30-40 mins. The water slides run from 10-12 and 2-4, and they're OK but a little too short at 9-10 metres in length and only 2 are working. There's also no hotel supervision on the slides so you're relying on the next person to apply some common sense before coming down! For £50 you can keep your room 'till 6pm on your day of checking out.

Overall, at £ 750 plus flights for a family of 4 for 7 nights we found it OK. Would we return? Probably not, but it's in no way as bad as some of the reviews state and if I had booked to come I wouldn't worry. Your hol will be what you make it :-)

This hotel is definitely of 4 star standard! On arrival we were given a family room with a road view on the 5th floor! We had requested a low level sea view room as we have 2 kids 9 and 4 years! We were told we were not being moved until the following day at 2 pm by a very grumpy rude receptionist. Our first night was spent with a very poor air conditioning system and resulted in a very restless night for all due to the heat and banging noise from the disco at the next door hotel! We found the staff to be rude and the majority did not even break into a smile the whole time we were there! Very unhelpful and unaccommodating! The rooms were standard but each day we had to request toilet paper and clean towels! Our bathroom floor wasn't cleaned once during the whole week. Reception refused to move our bags to our new room for us so our whole day was wasted hanging around until 2pm to move! When we asked staff for milk for our little one we were refused and likewise with water t 3 am on our last evening when our son had a temperature of 40 +!!!!! My husband had to walk to a supermarket at 3.30 am just to get water to keep him hydtrated! Drinks were served in plastic small tumblers with no ice! Asking for ice was like asking for gold and resulted in you merely being grunted at! Food was Basic and repetitive and there was always a shortage of cutlery and crockery in the one restaurant! There was a fight at meal times, no queuing and a lack of available poolside loungers unless you reserved with your towel at 5am!!! The music playing at the beachfront bar on the day of our arrival was loud and extremely offensive language! Not at all suitable for a ' family ' resort!!!!!! At 2 minutes past 11pm my husband was refused two glasses of soda water for our kids and were we're told we would have to pay!!!! We did not take advantage of the bar or restaurant all week as we ate out almost every night! All in all this hotel was VERY disappointing and was not a cheap week at £3300. Friends of ours stayed at the Ideal Prime Hotel just a few hundred metres along the promenade which was also categorised as a four star and you could not compare the facilities and surroundings to the Caprice. That hotel was what you would expect form a Four Star! Advice???? Do not spend your hard earned cash on a summer holiday at The Caprice

Room Tip: Do not stay here
