“first time in Turkey”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

we went on holiday to this hotel on the 5th May for two weeks all inclusive, well what a waste of money we are two pensioners and arrived at 4 o,clock in the afternoon, the manager on the desk was very rude and told us we didnt have a booking there, I had taken all or paper work with us and showed him but he just kept saying he didnt deal with the people we had booked with which was HOLIDAY GEMS, we sat at a table for 2 hours getting all the phone numbers we could find and asked him if he could get in touch with them for us he said no,but he did say if we gave him £300.00 he would find us a room so as i was getting angry by then my friend took over and asked if she coud make the calls so was given the phone , and after 5 calls back to england we finaly got someone to help they spoke to the manager and we were given the room that was booked for us, but before we could have it we had to pay for all the call we had to make first .Then we found out that the firm we booked with had changed to( holidays to go) but we were not informed about it also the hotels name has been changed to the( Alinda ).so after 3 hours we got to our room the room was clean and the maid was lovely but the staff were not friendly at all. went down to dinner and it was awful we asked what things were and just got told vegtables there was nothing to go with the salad, we are not fussy eaters and had read the reviews so were expecting lots of chicken but none, so we ended going out for meals and as i said we are pensioners and had limited money so what we took with us for trips we spent on food.we went to the bar opposite the hotel called the MAYA the waiters in there made our holiday they were so nice to us and we had such a laugh with them and when we left there at night 2 of them watched us until we were in the hotel such lovely people.we dont know if we will go back to Turkey again but NO WAY TO THE BLUE RAINBOW just to finish FOOD AWFUL,NO ENTERTAINMENT,STAFF NOT FRIENDLY,BUT THE AREA IS NICE AND THE MAYA BAR IS GREAT .i am going to complain to ATOL as we were treated awful from the minute we arrived .

We've just had two weeks at the blue rainbow all inclusive. Where do I start ....... The cleaners are lovely and the receptionist & night receptionist were lovely too always had a smile. On arrival in the early hours of the morning we started as we meant to go on with the young night staff trying to rip us off with charging 25 GBP for a safe and then the following morning charged us 10GBP.
The food was edible but the same thing just with a different plate or dish. The table cloths were dirty and only changed every few days. You have to drink in plastic cups that cut your mouth. There is a designated table for the managers who get served their meals which look a lot more presentable that what the paying guests get.
The pool is nice and gets the sun all day a lot of the beds are broken so be careful. Seemed to have a problem with wasps which were stinging people daily!
You couldn't get a drink until 9pm from the pool side bar in the evening and couldn't get one from the restaurant either. There was no entertainment at all and there was always a battle for the loudest music from the bar and the bar over the road.
The staff all have long faces and very rarely try to engage or smile.
The location is good and close to the beach. The moonlight cruise is a good evening out and so is The talk of the town show in marmaris.
The hotel is very very dated and in need of urgent repair and face lift. The rooms are basic with mouldy tiles in the shower however the bedding and towels were always clean and the designs on the beds were a lovely touch.
I have stayed in many countries and many hotels and this has to be one of the worst.
The area itself is lovely and so are the people, the Buffalo bar is a good night out.
The best thing for us on this holiday is we met two people from Thurrock and six people from Liverpool and they made our holiday. The best things from the blue rainbow were the friends we left with.

Room Tip: My tip for a good room, choose another hotel

We paid for all inclusvie for this hotel for 2 weeks what a rip off the food was shocking no entertainment there in the evenings so spent all our money eating out. Im not a fussy eater and tried to eat there but couldnt it was terrible and the staff was a misserable as sin!! the only good things I can say bout this hotel is its in a fantastic location had a nice pool which was in the sun all day and we had a lovely view from the beach from our room (which was very basic but clean)and thats it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL EVEN IF YOU PAID ME!!!

Room Tip: Only ask for a sea view room thats the only good thing about the rooms.

well this was our fourth holiday to turkey and the last for a while.the staff in this hotel apart from the chef who was very polite and the maids who always had a smile and hello for u everyday were nothing short of pig ignorant.it amazes me that when walking out and about in this beautiful town everywaiter ,shopkeeper etc speak perfect english, but the minute you step into a hotel lobby they dont understand especially if you want to complain!!!.I have never complained before and my only gripe was this hotel has a section of beach for guests to use but when you go there ,there is a cocky git who demands money even when you show him your ALbands .I know on most sections of the beach there is a charge but not when your hotel has that section .we found out he has a scam going becuase no money went to the hotel. My only other gripe was a sign in the lobby saying after you check out only alcohol is payable,we were getting picked up at 4.20 and had to check out at 12 our flight wasnt until 10pm and we didnt get home untl 3am but we thought and i must say checked before hand with the rep that we could have lunch and coffee until we were picked up. NOT SO as soon as we handed over our room keys we were told that we would have to pay full price for everything i pointed to the sign and told the girl i wanted to see the manager, she went into a room and came out and suddenly couldnt speak english only to keep saying sorry the manager refused to come and see me and when i asked for her name to write a letter that was refused too .I had to get on my mobile and phone the rep who then phoned the hotel.this girl then came and told us we could have lunch and A soft drink but only from the restaurant not the pool bar.so we waited until 12.30 and couldnt eat out of pure anger of the pettiness but lined up 3 soft drinks and 3 coffees each and as soon as the restaurant closed the girl phoned the waiter and was told not to serve us to be fair many of the other geusts offerred to get drinks for us but we were all being watched.i started taking photos of signs in the hotel but as soon as i was seen the sign by reception was taken down.we met some fabulous people and made our own fun ,but the attitude of many staff was awful the girl in the pool bar would put the same three turkish songs on repeat at least 10 hours a day for 7 days and eggs for breakfast and chicken for lunch and dinner for 7 days [not nice]!!!think the owner has shares in the chicken factory.
