If you're thinking about going on a boat trip in marmaris id definitely recommend this one, ive not been on any others but I couldn't see how they could better this or match it !
I booked through A&S travel for about £20 ( I paid in lira) to give the honest truth they slightly mis-sold it, they must have an affiliation with the mega diana as they back it heavily and criticize other boat trips, I was told there would be lots of space as the boat only takes a set number of passengers so they all have a sunbed each, all with plenty of room and not touching, this proved not too be true and the boat turned out to be a little cramped with some people sitting upstairs in the shade or inside under cover
This didn't bother me however as me and my girlfriend got two good beds but I probably would've been annoyed if we hadn't got them as some of the beds are under cover (some people may like that though) and the stairs were treacherous, I didn't fancy fighting them sober never mind after a few drinks, they were practically vertical with narrow steps, im young and able aswell so I imagine they could be a nightmare if you are older
This is not a major criticism though perhaps just a consideration to arrive early or get on the boat first and pick out a good seat, There's a free transfer to and from your hotel included in the price
For your money you get included drinks breakfast and lunch, breakfast is basic, a salami and cheese toastie with 1 slice of salami but id already eaten as my hotel was all inclusive so it was a nice snack, lunch is pretty decent Grilled chicken with pasta rice and salad, it sounds average but it was actually really tasty, The beer is Tuborg gold which is a strong malt pilsner, My favourite beer is actually tuborg green (the tuborg sold in Britain) which doesn't taste remotely like tuborg gold, but tuborg gold is okay and its a premium brand and also the most popular in turkey, vodka etc. is local, The staff come round regularly enough offering beer and spirits I passed on spirits and just had beer, 12 for the £20 is excellent in my opinion and that's with a boat trip and lunch, a bargain if you ask me
The boat trip itself is good, Perfect to catch some rays for a tan and see the scenery, it stops for a swim a couple times, as well as stopping for an hour or so at a little town called Turunc
The intuition of the Turkish entrepreneurs is phenomenal, when on the boat an ice cream seller in a speed boat rolls up side our boat and shows a board of ice lilies he's selling which he passes aboard to one of the young boys who advertise for him they then exchange cash and good by chucking them overboard to see it is pretty funny, at one of the stops you also have the chance to go on a jet ski from the boat which I done, Just before you stop he comes alongside the boat very closely and turns sharply to spray water onto the deck which is also pretty funny
I can't remember how much the jet ski was but what i can remember is it was worth every penny , I went on the jet skis on marmaris beach and this one was far better, for one it was a lot faster and the area is a lot more open than at the beach so you can do as you please, I did and fell off twice !
There's a photographer on the boat with a professional camera who takes your photos and shows you them and you can buy them on disc if you want
My Favourite thing about the mega diana though is its captain who is absolutely hilarious and one of the funniest people I have met, his English is excellent to the extent he even knows lots of dirty jokes, he makes the trip memorable with his antics and many alter egos
The other staff are great too, mostly young boys, the captains son and nephew I think who come regularly with drinks etc. And are very polite, one of them however had an ottoman empire t shirt which some people may have found offensive but it doesn't bother me, I actually gave them a little tip each when I left as I knew they wouldn't get much money for their hard work and they were delighted
I would recommend the trip to anyone and for £20 with lunch and included drinks its probably cheaper than a day at the beach and the sunbathing is much better at sea, and the captains banter is not to be missed
