We stayed here from the 14th June to the 28th June 2010 and this was our first time to Turkey so a little unsure what to expect as you read lots of reports and end up not knowing what to believe. Our first impressions were that the staff on arrival at 4am were friendly and very welcoming which is always a good start. Our room was a studio on the 4th floor (no lifts) and they are spacious, basis and do the job plus they have free air conditioning which you will be grateful for. Our first day was by the pool and this is where yhou get to meet all the staff the entertainment staff Gogo, Mert and Julia (Mrs Gogo) who are fantastic with entertainment all day darts, cocktail games, water polo and they even do a little dance for you which by the end of your holiday you will master the steps. All the waiters Alican , Can, Osturk, Gungor , Big Jon and all the rest of the guys are brilliant very friendly and take time to actually talk to you and get to know you which you dont always get at hotels. They have happy hours at 7pm-8pm and 11pm -0100am so make the most of this thought they are very well priced around 5tl a pint, some hotels are 9tl so its a bargain. The hotel is close to the beach and in a quiet location if you turn left out the main doors and take your first rd to the left follow that road and you get to the main rd where the point centre is, here you get a good exchange rate for your cash although we took sterling travellers chq but there are HSBC ATM all over, but be warned count your moeny before you leave the exchange as everytime they tried to diddle us out of 20tl and when you question them they take the cash of you and recount it and funny enough you have the right amount so be warned this happens all over. Just after the point centre is the beach and go left and walk along passed lots of restaurants towards the harbour which is beautiful. Again if you come out the hotel turn left there is lots of little bars and restaurants (Adam and Eves is fab 5 courses for £9) and you can go the back way to the harbour which is nice past the amphi theatre and the old town.
The club turquoise is a brilliant hotel and from speaking to people we met there who stayed at other hotels in marmaris this is the best they have stayed at the being clean, location and the staff and the staff here really do make this a fabulous place to holiday we will definatley be back and hope to bring family too. But dont do the tour operator trips definatley go the the guys on the streets in there offices there are far more value for money and you go to better places plus get free trips.
