“Great holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Totally enjoyed our stay here! Don't believe anyone who says the food is repetitive, we were here for 10 days and had something different each day, all very tasty, the A la carte especially yummy. A few of the staff need a personality bypass But all in all bery friendly and helpful. Snorkelling is fabulous and saw something different each day. The vip boat trip was great too. Best thing about the holiday was no screaming kids! Just beware if you go in to Marmaris town to the barbers. My boyfriend went to Oz Hairdressers along the sea front for a shave and we came out £80 lighter as they waxed his ears and nose, shaved his back and armpits and gave him a head massage all without him asking. They also grabbed me, which I thought was just a bit of fun at first, and threaded my eyebrows, then my whole face (extremely painful, and I did try to stop them but they were very insistent), then gave me a mud mask and a neck and shoulder massage, again all without asking, then charged us £40 each for the privilege. What started out as what I thought was a bit of fun ended up with me in tears feeling like I'd been mugged! It wasn't just us as the guy in before was charged £100 when all he wanted was a haircut. BEWARE! Still had a great holiday though.

Room Tip: Get a sea view or partial sea view but be prepared for all the steps, although you need to do some e...

We went in early July and found this to be an excellent hotel and was a lovely holiday. With mutliple things to do at the resourt, the trips offered, or self-organised trips, this offered us the ideal combination of seeing Turkey and its amazing cultural heritage, and a relaxing holiday in the sun. The staff were super helpful, especially the guys running the water sport centre, were you can use kayaks for free, and pay for sped boat hire, parasailing, and romantic boats trips watching the sun set.

On arrival we were initially annoyed about climbing all the steps to our room. However, this actually proved ideal in the end to walk off the very large breakfasts, lunches and dinners that were on offer.

Room Tip: Lower number are nearest the amenities. When you arrive (probably very late in the evenings) ask for...

We both lead very busy lives, both work, have kids, loads of stress and generally too much going on so when we take a break we need it to be relaxing and boy that’s what this was. No children allowed it said, so I thought great, that will be nice.....I didn’t even come close to imagining how good that would be, lol don’t get me wrong we love to be with our kids but it was bliss. no noise, slashing, crying, fighting, running around, mess, and everything else you get on a 'normal' holiday from your own and other families. After being there only 24hrs we were so relaxed it felt like we had been there for days and not in a bad way, it was like we were in some kind of time warp everything moved so softly it was almost dreamy. All of that was worth it to us but for the rest the bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful if a little inexperienced, the food was more than satisfactory and the surrounding area was a pleasure to visit especially if you get the boat over to Marmaris and visit the market and all the little shops in the old town. Stay away from the tour rep, she is blatantly on commission or target driven in some way and is only there to ensure you spend more money and do not fall for the last day trip to see the turtle beach the so called hotel they dump you in is miles from the airport and the food is worse than how I would imagine prison food, you are pushed and herded along a very busy schedule and it took the edge off the trip for me, maybe it would be an upgrade if you had been staying in some dodgy self-catering place with screaming kids all week but for us we just kept saying omg we could be back in the Marmaris instead of this….anyway its overall a very romantic holiday...go enjoy but don’t fall for the rep’s sale talk

Room Tip: if you're lazy get there early and ask for a room at the bottom otherwise you will be walking up...

been a while since we have been back from turkey just havent had the time to write a review.
we stayed in the imperial for two weeks in August had a great holiday, hotel was good entertainment was low key and just right for us. on the second week they seemed to be short staffed but other than that we thought it was great relaxing holiday. met some great people hi ron and amanda. the food was good lots of choice i ate fish most days, lots of room to sunbathe and relax. would we go back? not sure there are so many places in the world to see but if we wanted a week or two just relaxing and enjoying the surroundings i would go back. we went with thomson who were great flight times were on time both ways seats on the plane a bit tight, the only slight issue was with the reps in the hotel they seemed they couldn`t be bothered with you and i dont mean day time entertainment staff who were great they did their best and did not pester you. we had a great holiday our first in Turkey and i must say overall we really enjoyed our stay at the imperial, stayed in room 206 only fourteen steps to the bar!

Room Tip: we booked a double room and got one very close to the reception only 14 steps!

The Marmaris Imperial is about 1 1/2 hours from Dalaman Airport. It is on the peninsular and a hillside hotel. All rooms are like studio bungalows. You do need to be a fairly active person as there are a lot of steps to and from your rooms to the main complex. However, they do provide a taxi service if you find this difficult. The staff can't do enough for you, Eddie the chef was a joy and always stopped for a chat and to make sure everything was OK. Good entertain each night, ranging from various types of dancing to acrobatics in the ampitheatre, also films shown a couple of times a week, quizes, with a couple of groups one in particular The Undercovers, who were very good. The DJ, Ismet, did a fantastic job catering for such a wide variety of age groups and took on board everyones requests. There are watersports, with a worthwhile, Champagne at Sunset on the speedboat. You can get the dalaman (bus) or water taxi into Marmaris. Food was an excellent standard with plenty of choice. We had one problem with a particularly loud snorer in the room next to us and the staff moved us immediately, in fact, from the time we asked to be moved to getting into our new room it took 10 minutes. The staff genuinely care about your stay there and have an excellent understanding that you are there to relax and although you are kept well informed about the events for the day there is no hassling or pressure to join in. Fantastic couple of weeks and would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: If you have difficulty walking then request a low room. There are no lifts, the resort is quiet but...

Arriving at the resort after a 2 hour transfer we were all hungry thirsty and tired, the receptionist told us to go up the stairs towards the restaurant, pitch dark, and quite a hike later we arrived at the restaurant....... dont know why we bothered, stale bread, luke warm soup and bottled water was all that was available. It was 1am but surely something could have been served.
4 of us and 4 suitcases were then bundled into a golf buggy and hurtled towards our rooms along dark paths, steep climbs ( at one point thought we were going to overturn!)
The rooms pleasant, bed comfy and clean.
Food was dire, limited choice, wasps and flies abound in the dining room.
Probabaly the worst all inclusive I have stayed at. The drinks included on our holiday were the most limited I have encountered, vodka, whisky or gin, beer and very substandard wine. Cocktails were extra, no liquers, port, or anything except those I have mentioned, just as well really as the walk up murderously uneven steps would deter most folk from having more than a very moderate amount of alcohol. The trek back up to the room was exhausting and I did not attempt it other than to get changed for dinner. the pool was clean and plenty of sunbeds but under constant attack from wasps and biting flies. Nowhere to walk to outside hotel as the complex is on a marina, tiny beach again dominated by wasps and other insects. Entertainment was either the resident duo, ok but seemed to be fed up with the gig, or the resident soloist, again pretty mundane. This would have been have ok if the food or service were up to scratch.
Defintely not a hotel I would ever choose to visit again.

The Marmaris Imperial is a little over one and a half hours from the airport and is located in a quiet area directly opposite Marmaris and Icmeler across the bay. Access to the town is possible either by water taxi or, as we preferred, using the little dolmus minibuses which cost around a pound.

We were assigned room 425 which is quite high up on the hillside and the combined effects of the steps and slopes helped to offset the eating and drinking in the hotel's restaurants and bars!

The room itself was comfortable and there was plenty of room with a fabulous view from the balcony. Cleanliness levels were high and the lovely ladies looking after the rooms deserve every penny of their salaries!

We enjoyed the food on offer for the mostpart but there was some degree of repetition which is understandable and alternatives could be found.

The hotel is all inclusive and the drinks offered were primarily local brands which were fine.

This is a couples only hotel and children are not permitted to stay. This leads to the hotel being quiet and, for some, this may be considered too quiet!

In summary, we had a great week in and around Marmaris with the stay at the Marmaris Imperial being relaxing and comfortable.

Room Tip: The hotel is set on the bay but rooms are on the hillside so there are plenty of steps. The hotel of...
