“Best Holiday Ever!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

This was the most beautiful hotel i have ever stayed in. It was kept so clean 24/7, the reception and decoration of hotel was lovely. The food was amazing lots of choice i was a bit worried as i was allergic to nuts but i didn't have any problems. The room as just the right size the shower was very powerful which you don't find in many hotels. The swimming pool was huge it was kept so clean was never dirty. Lots of choice for drinks at the sultans bar. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning next year and recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. Never been so happy feel very depressed to be home but cant wait to come again. Thank you to all staff for making this the best holiday ever.

Stayed at the Grand Ideal from 5th - 12th Sept, first time in Turkey and we will def be back.
The hotel is approx 40mins walk from the centre of Marmaris but you are only 5 mins from the beachfront with lots of bars, resturants, shops etc. On arrival we were very quickly checked in and found the reception staff to be polite and welcoming, the room (123) was great, very clean and was cleaned daily for the whole of our stay, lovely view over the pool, beds very uncomfortable though. The whole hotel was immaculate and all the staff worked very hard and very long hours but were still always very polite and friendly. Tania (customer relations) was very helpful and went out of her way to help you, thanks Tania! The shop, spa, photo shop and hairdressers were all great and very reasonably priced, we had turkish bath, massage, etc for approx £35, proffessional photos done starting from £5 per photo and hair cut for £6.
The pool is huge and spotless, some people do get carried away with putting towels on sunbeds at 6am but there was always some availble still when we went to the pool at 9am, the bar have beer, wine, raki, vodka, gin, cocktails and plenty of different juices which were all fine, bar staff work very hard!!
We went to "Talk of the town" which was a good night out, not much entertainment at the hotel which was a shame as it meant we had to go out every night.
Food was very nice, plenty of choice and was fresh and well cooked.
Well done to everyone at the hotel, have just booked to come back next year!

Room Tip: we were in room 123 and it was great, pool view and very quiet

The Grand Ideal Premium was exactly what we expected. Our travel agent had been there and recommended it to us as a hotel/resort for a young couple who were looking for a relaxing holiday with a busy nightlife. We travelled in the first week of September and the weather was amazing throughout the ten days we spent there. Its location is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a holiday in Marmaris. It is only minutes from the beach and you can walk up to the harbour in 35 minutes. Our room was on the fifth floor and faced the traffic side of the hotel which was a shame as many rooms faced the pool. We also had a slanted roof which was not ideal as we managed to hit our heads several times. The food served by the hotel was delicious and the buffet has something for everyone. Although most of the breakfast food tasted over-sweet, lunch and dinner definitely makes up for it. At tea time biscuits are served but they are very dry. The staff are all very friendly, however it is expected to wait at the bar for a drink. During the day the entertainment consists of darts, water polo and pool, however most tourists opt out of the activities which is a shame. In the evening, the ‘premium entertainment’ consists of a kids disco EVERY night and several short shows which are very poor. I would highly recommend going elsewhere as several restaurants in Marmaris and the nearby town of Icmeler offer fantastic entertainment at the price of sitting in for a meal. The cleanliness was excellent throughout the hotel, including the pool being crystal clear every day. Even robins drink from the pool in the evening! Unfortunately, we had a problem with our toilet at some point and it took a whole day for it to be sorted out despite complaining to reception three times. Apart from this we experienced no other problems with the hotel and had a fantastic holiday!

This hotel has put us off All Inclusive. We booked due to the reviews but we were very disappointed. I have two children 9 & 5 years old, and they found it very boring as there wasn't anything to do for them. The entertainment team seem more concerned with chatting up teenage girls than doing their job. Some of the shows in the evening were bizarre. There is generally nothing going on during the day then the thumbing starts from the hotel's night club at 11pm - 2am.
We used the indoor pool due to the lack of sunbeds and shade, and both children got ear infections from it.
It was hard to get a second drink or water from the waiters in the restaurant. The management were generally unfriendly. The bar was under staffed, and the fruit juice from the dispensing machine tasted awful.
One good thing is that the reception staff were friendly and moved us to a different room as our first room was above the night club.

Room Tip: Stay away from hotel's night club. If you are in the same block then choose the 4th floor, great...

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your review.

The Hotel is described in the Thomas Cook Brochure as suitable for families as the Hotel does provide a childrens swimming pool, water slide and a small play area in our gardens. The brochure also states that the Hotel or Thomas Cook does not operate a ‘kids club’ however the animation team here at the Hotel have incorporated several childrens activities in the daily programme and evening programme for children holidaying in our Hotel, to participate if they so wish. The Hotel operates a soft daily animation programme for all of our guests of varying nationalities to participate if they so wish. Our evening programme of soft animation also includes a childrens mini disco as well as local shows catering for all nationalities.

The Hotel has a permanantly shaded area with sunbeds as well as mobile sun umbrellas. The Hotel has 380 sunbeds as well as a garden area and the use of a private beach at our sister Hotel, Ideal Prime Beach.

The Hotel offers a Guest relation service 12 hours per day as well as the Travel Agent Representative having daily visits, as you have already mentioned, a fully manned 24 hour Reception, all of whom are very happy to help our guests with any concerns they may have regarding their holiday.

The water in the Indoor pool at our Hotel is cleaned by using an advanced water filtration system, The Ozone Water Purification System, it is then chlorinated using an automatic dosage system. The water in the pool is then checked and recorded three times per day by our qualified Technical Team and also once per day by the consultant from Johnson & Diversey which then forms part of the monthly HACCP inspection controlled and monitored by National Britannia of which we are proud to have been awarded a Gold Certificate due to our standards. There has been no reports such as this from any of our other guests. It is fair to say that your childrens ear infections could have been caused through outside activities such as visits to an Aqua Park, as a result of swimming in the sea, jeep safaris or boat trips.

I hope the information above satisfies your review and we, as part of the Ideal team hope to welcome you to our Hotel once again.

Everything about this hotel ticks all the boxes. Tanya and all the staff from waiters to chefs were polite and friendly the food was excellant at all times and plenty of it .Do take advantage of Eric Malkoich and get some official photographs done, excellant value for money. a lovely keepsake from your hols. we also used the Exotic Spa, what an experiance, Murat and the staff were proffesional and freindly, start with turkish bath then mud therapy followed by great massages and facials , not forgetting the fish therapy , any aches and pains will soon disappear .
For a great relaxing holiday we would recommend this 5* hotel.
The all inclusive experiance was faultless, food was excellant at all times especially fresh made pizza at lunch time.
Location is ideal 5 mins from beach and shops

Just return from Turkey and I have to say I was slightly disappointed by what we found. The service was fantastic and the spa was truly an amazing experience (at an extra cost) but when we booked the holiday we were expecting a 4* experience which I have to say we did not receive in all areas. The service as very good but the entertainment was a bit disappointing which meant we were forced to leave the hotel every evening to get entertained meaning we did get the enjoy the All inclusive drinks. Our room was on the top floor whilst being clean it was as BASIC and you could possible imagine and to be honest I've more luxury in a Travel Inn room for £30 a night.
Whilst the hotel pool was nice getting a sun lounger was like a daily battle and even though there was a no reservation policy there where loungers already taken before i even sat down for breakfast at 8am which meant to get any sun we were forced onto the beach where we had to pay for drinks from a bar just to use there section of beach and sun loungers which again defeated the purpose of us going all inclusive. I would say this hotel is a very good 3* but maybe a little way off claiming to be 4*.
