Arriving in the middle of the night. Getting off the bus and walking inside the reception. I was wondering where the beautiful photos of the hotel I'd seen from home had been taken, because it did definitely not look like the hotel I'd seen on the photos. We walked through the garden to get to our rooms. A very nice luggage man helped us with all our heavy bag. We stayed in two separate room, and the reception were so nice to give us rooms side by side - which was very very nice of them!
Waking up in the morning and walking out on our pretty big balcony and being right side by side with the mountain - I could smell the pine trees just from there. We had rooms that was right next to the mountain and we could see the ocean - what an experience!
The rooms had some funny... well... funny things that didn't really work so good. The rooms very pretty big and very bright with a nice air conditioning. However there were only one blanket in the bed, and it was pretty cold at night, so we used a towel as well. The air condition could not be on if the door to the balcony was not locket, which was not very smart id you wanted to sit out in the afternoon and not wanting to come into a very hot hotel room. But well, that is probably the only negative thing about the rooms. Cleaning was also beautiful, everyday.
The garden at the hotel was also beautiful. It is a very big hotel with many possibilities. What I really enjoyed was that the hotel has it own private bay. And when lying on the beach during the day and looking up the the beautiful sight of Turunc was just worth all the money. How I enjoyed those days. I must add that the water here is SO clean! I've some turkish friends that added that the ocean is a lot more clean than in Marmaris and Icmeler, which is very true. The ocean has the most beautiful crystal blue/turquoise/emerald colour - SO beautiful.
I think Tuesday is the market day in Turunc, which everyone should visit to get the "real" turkish experience especially since the market is a 5-minute walk through Turunc.
This is also a very nice hotel if you like to explore different things. For example did I one morning walk all the way op the mountain that some of Turunc city is lying on. I was up at 6am and walked for about 2 hours. I got some really nice photos and it was just wonderfull (just remember a water bottle)! You can also walk behind the hotel on the road to Amos and Kumlübük. This is also an magnificent walk to take in the early morning. The mountains in Turkey have it own very special smell. The pines and eucalyptus trees are just wonderful! And watching the sun rise in the early morning hours, this is an experience you do not get in other cities by the ocean in Turkey - (I've been to Marmaris and Icmeler 19 times).
The food at the hotel was also very good. The food did not variate so much from day to day, but there was so much to choose from! A lot of good salads and meat. sometimes it could be a bit difficult to get around because the food is spread out over 3 different places, two rooms and outside, but after a few days you'll get the hang of it.
One more thing to add is the turkish people. So warm and welcoming. They will treat you as kings and queens and do anything to make your holiday even better (based on their poor english speaking).
I must add that the hotel is lying a while away from the city and night life if people want that. The hotel has a night club that I can only recommend, but if you want to go to the bar street in Marmaris or just in there for an evening it is possible. The dolmus leaves from the front gate every half hour. I found it a bit difficult to get home to Turunc again, in Marmaris people do not really agree on where to find the bus stop to get on the dolmus again, so I ended up with taking a taxi home. Though it took 40 minutes I only had to pay 80 YTL (VERY cheap!!).
This is a hotel to visit if you like privacy, intimacy and a beautiful setting for a holiday.
