“Marmaris Late October”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

On the third floor 311 right next to fire escape but on side of Hotel so partial sea view and away a bit from the road. Room and balcony were fine apart from needing three visits including very early hours of the morning to get the balcony door to actually close and lock.
Room looked a little dusty, but it was a nice touch to have a small bottle of wine and a banana, apple and plums. Tea and coffee were provided along with cups, glasses and a kettle, but I did not like the teas and used typhoo and nescafe instead.
Arrived late and reception was slow and so service needed to be better. Mealtimes were buffet style and there was usually something either outside or inside that was reasonable to eat. Confusing in the mornings just sat where a table was laid out, and sometimes you would be offered tea or coffee; evening meal was similar with waiters slow to take drinks orders. The drinks were a bit expensive compared to about 8 Turkish Lira for a half litre of Efes beer across the road. Many places were shut as it was the end of the season including the Greasy Spoon. It was great using the indoor pool and Sauna and Steam room but took a while to fathom out the lockers. Outdoor pool was cold and weather was low twenties with occasional rain. Room overlooked the tennis courts which can be booked. With a better service this hotel would receive a better rating as in general the beds were comfortable and the bathroom very good and towels changed daily. Entertainment at this time seemed to be groups or singers in the reception area bar, did not listen to much as we went out. One can walk along the promenade to Marmaris or to Icmeler where on the way one can swim with Dolphins at a price. There is a major regatta in this week and so the yachting fraternity were plentiful in the hotel and in the bay. There is a bar on the beach but the beach is nothing special, though you can get a water taxi across to Icmeler or Turunc market for a reasonable price. Turunc is not really worth a visit and the market is small.

My husband and I visited Marmaris and stayed in Grand Azur in April 2014 during the Easter break, for 8 nights and booked the land view room. This was our first trip to Marmaris and I am very picky when it comes to hotels. After Hilton (which was very expensive!) this seemed like the best hotel to book based on reviews. We booked through travel supermarket and checked out reviews on trip advisor, which is why I'm posting this review as it's always comforting to read peoples' experiences as opposed to hotels' own reviews The pictures of the hotel looked great but we were still a little apprehensive as sometimes what you see is not what you get. But we were not disappointed at all! The hotel was absolutely amazing, we went half board. The buffets were great- plenty of choice and variety. I literally counted about 99 dishes including dessert for dinner. And we were so full after breakfast, that we always grabbed a light wrap during lunch from a nearby eatery. I don't drink at all but if you're a drinker or have kids, then the full board would probably be better for you.
The service was great and staff was very friendly. The outdoor poor was small but the indoor poop was nice and heated. The hotel spa was also great and had treatments, and sauna and steam facilities as well. My husband and I got a couple of treatments ( Balinese massage, Turkish bath and a facial) and all treatments were great. The Turkish bath is definitely a must-have if you want a taste of Turkish relaxation.
Marmaris itself is small so there's not too much to do outide of the hotel but we had plenty were looking for a quiet time so it was ideal for us.
All in all, we had a wonderful time. We met some people on the bus and they had paid much more for the hotel next to us and complained about both the food and the room so I think we were got very lucky.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone whose looking for a nice relaxing time in Marmaris while experiencing some of the local culture!

Overall it is a nice enough hotel, the walk into town is about 20 minutes which is not to bad, the sea view is a must. It's definitely not a 5 star hotel and expect to pay for anything extra, even WiFi in the room or the jacuzzi. Hotel staff are very friendly. On the downside the beach isn't particularly clean and make sure you check all boxed fakes before handing over money! Definitely get a sea facing from, the view is the best thing about the hotel.

We stayed at the Grand Azur in October, and once again we had a wonderful holiday!! We have stayed here five times and I have to say we really can't fault this hotel.
Mr Korhan (General Manager), Seckin Tomruk (Duty Manager) and the whole team are doing a brilliant job!
It was great to see so many members of staff at the 'Repeaters Party' they all make you feel so welcome. Also lovely that so many members of staff we had seen on previous visits were still working so hard and always seem so happy and 'full of fun!!'
The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere and maintained to a high standard. We even witnessed the outdoor pool getting cleaned in the dark...it was 7.30pm!
Our room was just perfect, the views from the balcony are just spectacular, even though we have stayed several times now, I still find it breathtaking!!
The Housekeeping Girls really kept our room spotless and it is so nice to have clean towels and linen every day.
The food once again was very good, always plenty of choice and presented to perfection! Something to suit everyone's diet requirements.

We want to say a big thank you to Julien for making our holiday special. He really does look after us the whole of our stay. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him, we really do appreciate all he does.
Also thanks to Metin, we always look forward to seeing him. He also looks after us on a daily basis.

We were so pleased to find 'Yigit' and his band '4Example' were playing in the Beach Bar. They are all brilliant musicians and are very talented guys!! We enjoyed every performance...thank you!

Our two week stay was just perfect even though the weather was a little unsettled. I think we will have to stay for three weeks in the future!!
This hotel and staff has so much to offer, it is the perfect place to stay!!
Looking forward to staying again in 2015!!

Very long transfer from Dalaman airport. Go for a private transfer.
Very clean and tidy everywhere. Lovely gardens and pool area. Absolutely stunning views over sea. We had a "garden view" suite - side street and next door hotel - quite depressing. Pay to upgrade to a sea view - worth every penny.
Staff were civil and polite but not friendly and unhelpful. We reported a broken toilet seat and air conditioning that didn't cool on Monday and nothing was done by the time we left by Saturday.
Also they wanted a €50 payment for a four hour extension to check out time. That is just not good service especially when the room is not booked out the next day.
Food solidly average, dinner better than breakfast. Bit repetitive and bland but plentiful and fresh.
Beware the sand flies on the beach!
Enjoyed our stay, the view and the hotel surroundings made it worthwhile but this is not a five star hotel.

Room Tip: I would only ever have a sea view room and if possible on a higher floor. A standard sea view room i...

If you are holidaying in Marmaris this is the Hotel to stay in. When we were there it was a true mix of people- families, young couples and retired people I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We have just returned from a two week stay, staying on a half board basis. The bed rooms and bathrooms are large and beds extremely comfortable, cleaned to a very high standard. We had fresh flowers on a daily basis and amazing designs done with towels. My only complaint was the lighting in both the bathroom and bedroom was very dim and not bright enough for reading or applying makeup. The food is all self service in the restaurant and the choice is limitless for both breakfast and dinner. The salad bar in the evenings is amazing, with an additional choice of 7 or 8 main courses. Something for everyone. We tended to eat in the outside area which was very relaxing. The gardens surrounding the hotel are lovely and the pool area very well kept and sun loungers always available. For rainy days the spa and indoor pool are great. Evening entertainment in three areas is usually provided and we particularly enjoyed the Turkish dancers. This hotel is situated about a 10 minute bus ride in to the centre of Marmaris and the buses run constantly from outside the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Sea View rooms were an addition £300 for a two week stay which we considered expensive. We asked for...

Stayed for 2 weeks in October. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable as are the public areas. Pool area and gardens well kept. Food choice was good with live cooking station and pleasant staff. My only fault was tables and used plates were not cleared within a reasonable time (if at all). Ran out of bacon half way through second week to be told there would be no more supplied as the season was ending.

Room Tip: Do not accept a room overlooking the main road.
