“Best Holiday......Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We have just got back from a fantastic first trip to Marmaaris, we stayed at the Club Ilayda Hotel with Thomas Cook. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them, we had a problem with the Aircon unit which didn't work. They sent an electrician to fix it within 20 mins. We came back after our first day out and about around Marmaris to find the room clean and our beds laid out with towels in the shape of hearts with fresh flower pettles sprinkled on them.we are already planning to go back next year. Some quick visit tips, Drink lots of bottled water, always haggle for the best resteraunt deal, you will automatically get a free garlic bread and dips and a fruit plate for afters, so go for a discount or free cocktails for everyone in your group. The Turkish people are great and enjoy the banter and immerse yourself in Marmaris

Room Tip: Go for rooms on the top floor e.g 301,302,303,304 they all have balconies and face the back so are n...

Stayed as a group of 6 girls (all 21) for a week, and it was perfect for what we wanted; a mix of a celebrated graduation and relaxing holiday.

The pool was a good size, rooms were cleaned daily, with new sheets and towels, one of our rooms was slightly small - but you don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Free air con in the bedroom, but an extra charge for one in the living area at cost of £25 for week (if you want it).

Staff very friendly and helpful :), always wanting to make sure we were having a good time.

Only downside was the location, it was near restaurants and shops, but to the main harbour/beach was about 15/20 minute walk and bar street was about 30/35. Which is ok, but not always ideal after a lot of food or in the heat.

Recommend boat trips with shop opposite and in a large group he gave a good discount, making it a very reasonable price!

Me and my Boyfriend (ages 21 & 24) Stayed at Club Ilayda apartments on the 10th June for 10 nights! we got there late at night, staff were really friendly and helpful. Man even took our cases to our room and ran up the stairs while we were in the lift! Room was spacious and clean and had air con, décor was a little dated but it didn't matter. Maids came in everyday (if you wanted) and changed bedding, towels etc. Only downside to the room was it didn't have a full length mirror! We was more than happy with the room.
Pool area was lovely, more than enough sunbeds, slide was good fun. Waiters and bar staff were really friendly and would bring you drinks over while you relax. Drink and food prices round the pool wasn't expensive at all. Fizzy drinks were buy one get one free and were 4.50 lira which is about £1.50 so for 2 drinks was cheap! we only ate lunch at the hotel because we went out for food at night.
LOCATION IS PERFECT. 2 minute walk away from bars restaurants and shops, turn right out of club Ilayda. Across the road is a supermarket and Uncle Johns travel which Is safe to book trips and change money. DO NOT change money in UK, exchange rate out there is so much better!!!
Pharmacy is just down the road if any problems.
Our favourite Bar/Restaurant was September bar. We went there most nights, great food and staff are lovely and its great fun Brill entertainment they get everyone up dancing! food and drink prices are good! buy one get one free on cocktails! September bar is a must!!!
Shops sell a lot of good fake stuff. You get people talking to try and get you in shops but its harmless! You must haggle because they start at a high price. We always got stuff for half of what they started at! overall hassling is not bad at all! we never felt unsafe!

We also got a taxi to marmaris center which was 12 lira (£4) and takes about 5 mins to get there. Its a beautiful area where the harbour is and its got lovely shops and restaurants. Restaurants are a bit dearer but the views and food are lovely. Also there is the covered bazaar. its huge we kept getting lost because it all looked the same! But some really good shops and good experience!
Would not bother going to Thursday market its about a 10 min walk from hotel but all it sells is fruit and cheese!

Don't listen to any bad reviews! We had a amazing time and were already booking for next year! Marmaris is a lovely place, people are friendly and its the best holiday we have been on!

Room Tip: If you want a bigger room go self catering for a apartment style room if your wanted something smal...

we stayed at ilayda for 7 nights this June 2013 and absolutely loved it! The room was very clean and its exactly how it looks in the pictures if not even better. The cleaners are really nice and clean the room everyday. This hotel is roughly about ten minutes walk from the centre of marmaris which is a lovely walk and not too far. I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in a nice and clean apartment, I'd definitely stay there if i ever go back to Marmaris!!!!

Just got home from ten days at this hotel never had a good nights sleep whilst I was there , every night we would go to bed then that's the time for the noise to start kids running past your room screaming, adults shouting , people talking loudly in reception area , receptionist doing nothing about it at all don't know how many times I called them but nothing happened it usually stops about 5 in the morning then at 8 the cleaners start there rounds I was tired every day glad to be home , I would never go back there again and the food is expensive and rubbish but if that's your type of holiday then good luck

Stayed for 10 days May 2013 half board : myself my partner and our 5yr old daughter. Hotel was great, clean tidy well equipped. Pool and restaurant were lovely - food was faultless - you have option of using 2 sister hotel and all their facilities which were equally as good as illayda! There is a park area for children which was located next to our room. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. Hotel not far from main bars/restaurants and short walk to the beach. I would recommend this hotel and would defiantly return here again.

if you have any questions, then please dont hesitate in emailing me. i will be more than happy to give you more information,,, we have just recently returned from a two week stay at club ilayda. we were a family of four, our family was made up by me and my daughter (13) and also my friend and her son (9). first imprssions of the apartmetns were lovely. we were greated with friendly welcome and a quick check in.
the room was basic, but ew had ample room for the four of us and it was equipped with everything you can expect from a self catering establishment. i had requested a pool view and was more than pleased with the room we great room, it was 114 which was located on the ground floor with a excellent view of the pool and the rest of the grounds !

we got free air con in the bedroom and then had to pay for the additional air con, which wasnt too bad.... maid service was basic, but again that didnt bother us a we got fresh towels daily and bins emptied daily also, bed linen was changed every three days (which again was good)

the staff at the hotel/apartments were excellent, i cannot fault them. they were friendly and helpful and also very chatty.

the entertainment team are also great, benny, jack and marie made our holiday and they went the extra mile. i cannot complement them enough, they kept us entertained throughout the full hoiday, many nights the kids wanted to come back and watch the performances they were doing, so thanks guys you made our holiay one to remember :).

my daughter and i got our hair done in the on-site hairdressers and also our nails and again we recieved excellent service and also beautiful nails :)

we ate in the resturant a few times and must admit we didnt have any issues with that either, great meals and not too expensive either...

we ate out a lot also, the neighbouring resturants/bars served lovely reasonably priced meals, they were also very nice.. we didnt have one bad meal once !

we booked up for all our excursions with "uncle john" his shop is straight across from ilayda. his excursions are more than half the price of the rep and they were fab.. we did the jeep safari, waterpark, mega diana and also got a free excursion on the night cruise. all the excursions were great and most of them included lunch and drinks, which was grand. so i most definately recommend him..

all in all, we had a great (wonderful) holiday and would most definately recommend this hotel/apartments. so thanks very much to all the marvellous staff at club ilayda, much appreciated and will most certainly visit again (in the very near future)

Room Tip: if you want a pool view i recommend asking for the even numbers. we were in 114 and what a view wee
