“Brillaint - Family Run Hotel!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2009

Normally when I stay in Hotels I go for at least a 4 * but everyone was getting so many bargains so I thought this year I would do the same and take a chance!!!

Well we Paid £805 for two weeks !! WOW how cheap was that this included, Flights, Transfers and Hotel.... AND B&B!!!

When we arrived we the owner of the hotel (Papa) and Thomas and his wife Ali was there to greet us and help us with our suitcases and took us to out rooms. This was early hous in the morning and they were very happy and helpful..

The room was a fair size - better than the photo that I saw on the internet! All you need is to be able to have a shower and sleep! The room was very clean and the maid was very nice. Always left pretty decorations on our beds for us!!

All staff, Papa, Thomas. Alex. Ali. Remi, Tony, Jimmy, Martin and Chef lol... (and baby Mehmetan..... are fabulous!! so helpful could not do enough for you. I would definately go back to the hotel.. am hoping to return next year (My sister is getting Married in Cyprus) but will most definately try and go back!!!!

10/10 for everything.... Go and book and have a nice time... You must also try one of Alex's PINA COLADA... Yum Yum.. lol xx

Would also reccomend the BOAT trip... £9 (ONLY)

Maybe even cheaper to book directly with them Tel -------------------

This was a very basic hotel and if youare looking for a cheap holiday and paying little then this was alright. The staff were all very helpful on my arrival with my mother (oap) and daughter i was informed our room wasnt ready yet but they showed us anoth4er room to use until ours was availablelater that night . They also checked each day asking if we had any problems and is we were ok. The pool is small but my daughter enjoyed the aree which is sheilded till about 11 or 12 in the morning. Overall would i recommend this hotel??? yes it is in the quiet area but taxi office is opposite and hotel in thejunction to all areas. Thanks to all the staff for making our experience of marmaris a pleasant one.

Hotel:
I travelled to the menekse for 2 weeks from the 29th June - 13th July 2009 with just me and my teenage daughter. When we got to the hotel we had to walk through a restaurant and down around 20 steps to even get to the reception, the staff werent friendly to us from the beginning because we had read some bad reviews about the hotel the week before we travelled so we requested that we seen the room before we handed in our passports. When we got shown the first room we were quickly changed to another on the first floor which when you went out onto the balcony you were directly looking into the restaurant so we asked to get changed to another room.
Then we got moved to a third floor room "302" we've stayed in basic but this was definitely alot worse than basic. There was a small bedside cabinet and a small vanity unit and built in wardrobe. A small balcony that had two chairs and no table and our view was onto another set of apartments. There was no patio door, just an old door that we had problems locking. There was one plug socket in the room. In the bathroom there was only one small bin and no other bin in the room. There is no television or telephone in the room.
The toilet started leaking into the shower so we told the rep and she told the man at reception but it took two days for them to finally fix it. On the stairs outside the room there was a huge cockroach.
Staff:
We never ate or drank in the hotel atall for the whole 2 weeks because when we went downstairs to the reception to wait on the hotel rep we seen the man who was cooking the food on three separate occasions smoking in the kitchen beside reception. We reported all the faults to the rep and tried to change hotel but she said there was no more room in any other hotels that their tour company do so we were thinking of moving to antique palace where we stayed last year but they were fully booked so we had to stay in this dump for the whole two weeks. The only member of staff that was excellent and very pleasant was the cleaner who came in everyday and changed the towels, bedsheets and emptied the bin.
All the staff were very unpleasant especially the manager as when we were leaving he started arguing with the hotel rep because he never brought our cases down and the bus had to wait until he got them down.
we would never book with goldtrail ever again and never stay in the menekse!!!

We arrived in this Hotel 15th July. Got up to room and the doors were rotting and the bathroom door wouldn't close tight. The toilet is right next to the shower so when you turned the shower on the bathroom floor was like a swimming pool and everything was soaked. Benches in kitchen hadn't been cleaned before we arrived still left over bits of food on bench. Staff not friendly but only if you ate or drank in their bar or restaurant. Also not allowed food or drink up to rooms even though we were self catering so we hid our food and drink in a big bag. Very run down hotel and safety deposit boxes at reception which I didn't like. Air Conditioning was £20 for the week and Safety Deposit Box £10 for the week. When you left your room you had to take your key which mean't all electric turned off even your fridge and the key was soldered on to the electric bit so you couldn't take it off. When you came out of the hotel the beach was down to the right and basically a straight walk of 15-20 mins. Would not stay here ever again but loved the restaurants and bars outside our hotel. Lovely food and not so cheap as years ago. Cheapest bottle of white wine in Kipa which is a big Tesco over there was £9. Restaurant upstairs in this hotel food ok as we got a good deal the first night. 4 course dinner for £5.50 each which was ok but wanted to try other places but the guy who works there tortures you every night to eat there and gets unfriendly when you don't. Defo go back but just not stay in Menekse Hotel.

As soon as we arrived, they took our bags straight away and showed us to our roo, which was quite spacious and very clean (:
As soon as my mum and I had gotten some rest, we went downstairs to find they were making tea and coffee for us-they were always willing to do whatever you asked .
Over all, great for a family run hotel and I would definately return again (:
