"welcome to the real world" the title that greets you when you arrive at the alba!! okay, where do i begin?!! you really do get what you pay for, even more so in turkey. the alba is a small family run hotel in old town marmaris ie not located in a "touristy" area. on a whole though i would say its fine, the family who run it are all very friendly and along with the staff they attend to your every need. the food if average, although the english breakfast is very nice, which you may find you will be eating after a serving of the turkish breakfast!! rooms are small, basic but adequate. they are cleaned every day, with fresh linnen and towls provided on a daily basis. the "bathroom" more like a wet room is small but does the job. nice big balconies but sadly no furniture provided to sit on. air con is available at a cost of £40 per week, a bit steep considering the unbearable heat at times!! the pool area is clean, but not really suitable for small children as the water is deep at all levels, there is a small splash pool that kids could use but i dont imagine it would keep them entertained for long. location to marina is fairly good, within walking distance plus its on a dolmus and taxi route. mammaris thursday market is on the same street as the alba which is handy for dumping your purchases i your room and going back for more!! do not believe all the bad reports on here on this hotel, as long as your expect NOTHING fancy and just want a clean base and average pool area then this hotel will do you fine. we4 are returning to marmaris in october, this time with our children which is the only reason we arent staying at the alba, if it was just us then yes we would go back, so all in all its not a bad old place!! the family are so lovely and the send off we received from them when our aiirport transport arrived reduced me to tears. we shall definetly be paying them a visit in october. happy holidays to anyone going to the alba.....its what you make it.

Stayed at the alba for 7 nights and had a fantastic holiday, the staff were fantastic, fun and more than willing to help you out in booking extra excursions for a better price than sold on the travel agencies. I dont know where people get the hotels dısgusting ours was cleaned everyday with clean bedding and towels. İ would recommend this hotel to any1 but especially couples as the staff do not hassle you and make you feel very at home. 5*s alba and thank you to all the staff.

Been to Marmaris 5 times, just stayed at this hotel, English staff very freindly but room was disgusting. Arrived early morning and fell asleep, woke up as toilet flush would not stop. Room was cleaned once throughout 7 days stay and then stunk of dirty water and electric would switch off between 1 and 4pm. Flies and mosquitos everywhere in the toilet/shower and in room. Complained to staff as toilet flush would not stop but told to just tighten the taps, smell of sewage in room and toilet. On doorstep of market but quite a walking distance to the beach and shops, not recommended for the faint hearted at all, unless you like a stink and flies, oh and mosqito bites everywhere!

seen a lot of bad reviews about this hotel so was quite worried after booking.i dont know how some people can say the awful things they said.the rooms were cleaned EVERY day.towels were changed on a regular basis the staff at this hotel were lovely, respectful, and good fun.the owner is a big man but very light on his feet when dancing (and he CAN dance)his sense of humour is brilliant probably due to living in liverpool for 6mths of the year with his lovely wife.it was lovely to see that he is good with his staff, something not always seen in marmaris.the nights he puts on are quite good and the food lovely.for a cheap basic holiday i would recommend this place.............sue,,sister and cousin from derbyshire....

Read reviews and were very wary of what we may find - arrived during the day after a VERY long journey from Airport to be greeted by a load of english "chavs" staring at you! wondered what we let ourselves in for - HOWEVER, during our stay we were made to feel very welcome especially by TJ and Brian, not ever a problem and they were friendly morning to night. entertainment was good - although loud!!! TV was ALWAYS on Sky News, so quickly learnt what was happening every day in UK! We went half board and although the food was very basic and very much the same each evening, it was edible - you get what you pay for and occasionally we did eat out - was cheap enough. The guys working even made sure a couple of girls ensured they were safe on their nights out and "protected" them-made me and my partner feel safe. Only downside was out room was facing literally another building-luckily they werent on the balcony and was VERY hot in evening but couldnt leave doors open due to noise from hotel - again - you get what you pay for!!! Went on plenty of boat trips etc and recommend the turkish bath!! One night there was arguing from some girl trying to bring a bloke back to her room -she was chucked out due to her shouting and screaming - at 2am! Also our room was right on the stairwell so did get bit noisy but luckily most of the guests were older with children so was relatively quiet except the sound of flip flops on the marble flooring!!! EVERYONE very friendly including the guests!! Breakfast was traditional turkish but english fry ups can be purchased for 1L in the centre. A cleaner came in to our room after 2 days of being there and came in every day after that - nothing ever went missing but were "told off" once for having food in our room (crisps) Would definately recommend and if you are looking for friendly, basic but clean enough then stay here although not in June - was way too hot for me!! Will most definately be going to Turkey (Marmaris) again and will certainly stay here!!
