“Just perfect !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

we recently stayed here and it was first class in every way. The location is peaceful and makes the days very relaxing. but its not too far away from the main town if you wish to get out and about. The rooms are first class and have everything you need and are spotless. Will keep this very short but you will not be dissappointed with this hotel.

Room Tip: is well worth upgrade to jacuzzi room

Our third holiday to this region of Turkey and I had researched all the local hotels before booking the Nicholas heights based on TA reports.
We had arrived end of season for our beach wedding and we hoped that we had chosen the right accommodation and that the weather would be kind.
The staff were very helpful on arrival and took us straight to our jacuzzi suite...make sure that you insist on a renovated room with a view as this will make all the difference to your stay.Once we insisted upon this we could not be more impressed with the accommodation.we also managed to get our teenage children's room upgraded to a superior room at no extra charge.i pointed out the hotel was advertised as a deluxe suite accommodation and it was a pity that some of the rooms looked dated and weary.however the upgraded rooms are fresh well appointed and have plenty of space.great showers and the sea view in suite jacuzzi was the finishing touch!
The bed was huge but could have done with a more comfortable mattress.

The level of cleanliness is exceptional and the cleaning staff managed to create a work of art on the bedding every morning made from towels and flower petals, the signature piece being 2 swans crafted from our beach towels!
I would suggest that you book room and breakfast only (which is adequate but not that appealing) eating out in Hisonaru and Oludeniz is a better alternative and not to expensive.
There are comments on TA about the unfriendly waiters here but we found that a little friendly conversation with them went a long way .
If we came back to the area would we stay here again? The answer based on the above feedback would be a resounding yes! The hospitality and friendly welcome in Turkey is some of the best we have experienced on the European continent and we look forward to revisiting the area again .

Room Tip: Ask to see your room before the bags are taken up and insist on an updated one to fully enjoy your e...

we had 2 lovely weeks here at the end of the season. the room was amazing. our first comment was that it was almost the size of our house and we were so glad we upgraded to the jacuzzi suite. only downside was that we were a long way from anything being at the bottom of the resort. And, the view was non-existant because a new resort is being built right infront of nicholas heights which basically means that the view you're paying for just isn't there. to be fair, we were warned about this.

staff were lovely and friendly and helped us move rooms towards the end of our stay so they could vacate the lower rooms which was nice.

the food in the restaurant was nice but pricy and you can get better for less down in the resort centres.

big downside is that to get anywhere it's either a fair old hike down a hill or a taxi ride which, while not budget breaking, ends up being quite expensive over 2 weeks.

breakfast was also a bit of a let down. bread and fruit every morning wears a little thin.

Myself and my partner stayed at Nicholas heights in late September and had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
Hotel Room: I have read some of the recent reviews and experience of the hotel really seems to vary, depending on which hotel room you are given. We booked a jacuzzi room and were fortunate to be given a room in the B Block on the second floor overlooking one of the pools and with a view stretching down the hills to Oludeniz Beach. It was really special looking at the views. The area is well known for paragliding and we could watch the paragliders in the distance flaoting above the hills on their way down to the beach whilst relaxing in the jacuzzi. The room itself was beautifully maintained by the cleaning staff who decorated the room with flower petals one day, made gorgeous designs with towels and even clipped some fresh flowers to put in a vase by the vanity mirror in the room. The lounge area is big and spacious with a decent size TV, the jacuzzi area is lovely and spa like, the bed was very comfortable and the balcony area was spacious and comfortable. We also appreciated the basket of fruit left for us on our arrival.
Amenities: Pools were well kept and relaxing. During the day the music is kept low at the bar and we found both pools were relaxing to sit by during the day. At night , they sometimes have an entertainment guest. We didn't watch any of the performance but we returned towards the end of one entertainment and our overall impression was that the music was far too loud to sit in comfortably and we were glad to escape to our hotel room to get away from it!
There are showers and toilets beside the pools ad these are very handy to use if you have a late flight and need to freshen up before you leave. There is also a spa, which we hoped to use before we left, however it was closed the day we wished to use so cannot comment on this. There is also a gym, however it is very small with only about 4 pieces of equipment. Never saw anyone in there when I passed by.
There is a daily shuttle service running to Nicholas Beach, which is located just across from Oludeniz beach. Request coupons for the deck chairs at the hotel before you leave and you will save 7 lira per sun chair when you get there. We thought this beach was nice but it had far too many sun chairs clogging up the stretch of sand and we preferred to go to Oludeniz beach (not the part where you pay in) as it was less crowded and the water was nicer. We recommend you pay into Oludeniz beach once to have a look etc and see the lagoon but in our opinion, it's not worth paying into every day and similar to Nicholas Beach it's over run with sun loungers and tourists.
Staff: The cleaning staff were always really friendly and positive when you met them and without a doubt are an asset to the hotel. The porter who welcomed us was also very friendly and carried my bag without hesitation or needing to be asked. The bar staff and restaurant staff were also very friendly, especially one of the younger boys who served in the dining room at breakfast.
Food and service: Apart from breakfast, which was included in our stay, we ate twice in the Hotel. Once for lunch and another time for dinner. Although we were generally quite happy with the food served to us, we were VERY disappointing the slow service at lunch time. We waited approximately 45/50 minutes for a cheese salad and steak sandwich to be served.. This really shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to serve out and did not portray a very good image of kitchen management among staff. Dinner serving time was better and the food was fine.Nothing awful but nothing to write home about. I should mention that we were also very happy with the food served at breakfast and we cannot understand the reviews complaining that there isn't enough 'English breakfast' food served. Remember you're in a different country and you're meant to experience a different culture and way of life! You can't expect the same thing as being on holiday in England. Anyway, there was lots of food to chose from ranging from cereals, yoghurts, breads, fruit, eggs (scrambled and poached), beans, sausages etc. We recommend if you're not on half/full board to venture outside the hotel and find what the locals have to offer!
For dinners, We Loved YENGEC hotel restaurant based in Ovacik (just beside Hisoronu), LEVISSI garden in Kayakoy (about 5 minutes on a bus from Hisaronu) and Mozaik garden Restaurant in Fehiye. We were also pleased with JAZIBE Garden in Kayakoy and Baracuda on the road entereing Hisoronu from Oludeniz.
We never ate in Hisaranu once (we didn't count Baracuda as being in Hisaronu as it is not on the main strip). Hisaronu is without a doubt the most tacky eye sore of a resort we have ever come across in our travels. It is like a really bad fun fair with bright neon lights everywhere and really bad loud music....how on earth is there even a market for this kind of trash!? We're young people who enjoy clubbing and current music but this place is just awful! Thankfully the hotel is located outside Hisoronu and you wont see or hear Hisaronou from there.
If you like to do a bit of sightseeing, we recommend you go to Saklikent Gorge early in the morning to avoid crowds, see the Old ruins at Pinara, see Yaka Park and eat there for lunch (make sure you go to the correct Yaka Park as there are others restaurants nearby pertaining to be the 'original' Yaka reataurant) and head for Pitara beach for some afternoon sunshine. Pitara beach is stunning and well worth a trip. We also tried a boat trip from Oludeniz, which was nice.

All in all we had a lovely stay at Nicholas Height. It's great value for money and yes there is a hotel being built nearby (which is widely discussed by other reviewers) but we didn't take too much notice of it. Perhaps our stay was enhanced by the fact we were given such a beautiful room with a fabulous view and I can understand why the reviews vary so much if guests are not given equally as nice rooms. But for us, we were very happy and would return to this hotel if we decide to holiday in the same area again.

Room Tip: Ring in advance to request a room with a view.

My boyfriend had booked this hotel for my birthday and christmas present. We arrived at nicholas heights late at night and the hotel was dead, really quite and we were taken straight to our room which was amazing i loved it it was a surprise so i dint know what the hotel looked like or the rooms and it was awesome i couldnt believe it (jumping with excitement). We were hungry so asked the receptionist to book us a taxi into Hisaranou (15 minute walk) but in the dark and we didnt no where we were going we got a taxi, we asked the taxi driver to take us to get something to eat and he took us to a little waggon on the side of the road making turkish kebabs he kindly translated for us what we wanted and it was the best kebab i have ever had, The next day we had breakfast which was lovely, got up by the pool and there were plenty of sunbeds the pool is overlooking the sea and you can see the paragliders coming off the mountains down to Oludeniz (10 minute in a taxi or dolmus). I couldnt fault the hotel at all thorght it was top, very clean and friendly only slight downfall would be the recepionist staff and a couple of the bar staff they are not horrible but just abit weird ha our room was cleaned everyday with the towels been made into swans and flower petals on the bed mini bar topped up everyday, just not alowed to bring food or drink into the hotel or the maids take it, if you take anything which is not bourght on the hotel premises just hide it, either in your case or ina drawer, if you dont like to climb stairs or are abit unfit like me i would request a room near the top pool as there are alot of steps to climb i couunted over 100 and i was right at the bottom.

As we were there, when we looked out the window there was another hotel being built and we had seen pictures and it looks like it is going to be family orientated due to the picture having slides init. Sadly this will spoil nicholas heights hotel. We could see the beach even tho the hotel was there too but in the picture it look like the slides are going to be put right in front, which will ruin the view. Still, i really enjoyed my holiday and would deffinatly go back, its nice that you are in the middle of Hisaronou and Oludeniz so you have your pick where you would like to go and eat or go for the day shopping.

I personally loved 'the Plam Tree' in Hisaronou and 'Buzz Beach Bar' in Oludeniz. Both amazing food and people, very friendly and clean 10/10

Have a good holiday - u'll love it :)

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2605 which is at the bottom but very quite. If you want wifi you can only get it i...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from Nicholas heights and what excellent time we had. We booked through Thompson and chose Nicholas heights purely due to this magnificent views down to olu deniz beach.
We decided on the more expensive jacuzzi suite room that stated sea views......unfortunately this was not the case. We arrived around 1am and was directed to our room by a porter (who was extremely rude and would not leave our room until we tipped him). The room itself was outstanding, very modern decor with luxurious fittings and a lovely circular jacuzzi bath. Due to the long flight, and transfer time (around 2hrs) we just threw down our bags and got our head down for the night.

When we woke we were shocked and quite frankly appalled by the view we were given....it was a half finished hotel! There is no possible way this room can be advertised as having sea views.
We attended the Thompson welcome meeting and politely expressed our concerns to Anya our rep, she immediately called reception and relayed our complaint but was informed that there were no other rooms available that day but to return to reception the following morning when other guests had checked out, we did this and after explaining with reception we were given the same room, one block higher than the original room, we now looked at the roof of the new hotel rather than the walls. Due to the fact we were only there for a week and wanted to start enjoying our holiday we accepted the room. I think it's fair to say that the best views from rooms are the top poolside rooms, any lower blocks you're looking at a rather ugly building!

When booking through Thompson we were informed that hotel in front was being built and that no building work would commence until the end of season.....this is not the case, many mornings the tranquil surroundings were disturbed by the horrific drilling sounds!

The breakfast each morning consisted of a selection of fresh fruit, cereals, olives, cheeses and meats....there is also a hot selection with has beans, mushrooms and scrambled, poached and boiled eggs. This was the same each day, it did become a little repetitive after a week! (watch the butter.....it was rancid come the end of the week) all in all it was quite a acceptable breakfast and set us up for the day.

The pools are rather cold but clean and maintained very well and with the hotel being adults only its makes a day round the pool extremely relaxing.

The domestic staff were very good, they did seem to crop up as soon as you entered your room and pottered about for some time which we found slightly odd but they took the time to do some rather special "bed art" designs on the beds with towels and flowers.

There are quite a few steps up and down from the pools, rooms and reception but this we didn't mind as we thought the view would be worth it. So if you do struggle with steps maybe this isn't the hotel for you.

Overall this is a beautiful hotel and I assume a few years ago it was exceptional because it would have had unspoilt views, sadly though with a huge family resort being built only meters in front of Nicholas heights some rooms that clearly state sea views and extremely misleading.
