“6th time should be called it is what it is”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

This is my 6 th stay at the carmina and will not be my last I have stayed all over hisaronu and find this hotel to be central for all our needs the rooms are clean and tidy with a lovely lady doing her best to keep you happy . Ferhat the manager is great always on hand if you need him and again helpful too this year we noticed the new sign much better than the old one and the outside has been repainted making it look much better the gardens have been trimmed back the whole outside is looking great the interior fittings could do with a over haul but in general the carmina is what it is a cheap hotel in a great location I'd give it 5 stars see you all again soon

This is an honest review that will suggest that some people like this hotel as it is lively! But for us it was unsuitable and here is why.
The pool, baby pool is quite deep, a small child would have to sit on the side and lower self in or have help getting in. The main pool is very deep. About 5ft shallow end about 8 ft deep end. Therefore small children would find it difficult if they are not proficient swimmers and no chance of playing catch or water volleyball or any games in it for that matter.
Rooms were very spacious which was a good thing but very dated and mold in the bathroom areas. Our shower powered out three strong streams of water in all directions (all other holes were blocked by mold) We managed and just kept moving around. It wouldn't take someone long to re grout, clean and maintain, in time or money but i don't think they have any pride in their facilities. We were in the room next to the reception and so there was a lot of noise. About the noise. This hotel does not appreciate that some people come to relax and rest. If this is what you want, please book else where. This hotel is a party from 8am through to 4am. We had to listen to rave club classics and the same music all day and all night. Its very VERY loud at the pool like you are in a club, no chance of reading a book or falling asleep on a sunbed, even if you did, the staff think it is funny to pour ice water on you. One couple said they were unable to relax throughout the two weeks and we can say the same. We went to different hotels who let us use their pool for respite from the boom boom rave music. We had a one year old and our poor girl struggled sleeping in the night, even when you shut the door, there is no sound proofing. When you eventually do fall asleep you can hear staff shouting at each other every morning from 7.30am right outside the door. Trying to have a nap and get the baby to sleep in the afternoon was impossible. The sleep deprivation after two weeks is like torture.
Half board situation. If you are half board you end up with a room and no fridge. Don't book half board, go for a self catering apartment if you do have to stay here. The bedroom and balcony is road ride, no views but quieter as you are away from the bar. You have a fridge at least.
Also Half board is not buffet and there is a half board menu but there is no care by the chefs with the half board food. completely different to the other food they prepare. The food was poor and plenty of good value and well prepared food elsewhere.
Positives, it is great for people who like to party all day and all night. The staff did try to help where they could like letting us use the main fridge in the lounge for the baby milk etc.Another positive, location, it is a stone throw away from everything! but there are a few other hotels much quieter very close and more suitable for families.
We have been to hisaronu 6 times and still haven't seen and done everything. The place itself is amazing and a great holiday resort. Some people say you get what you pay for. By not spending any more money, turning the music down and being a little but more polite and considerate and this hotel would be good. A little pride in their work, and more effort with the catering would make a huge difference. In my view that does not cost any more money and there are better places very close and just as cheap.

Room Tip: The upstairs apartments are self catering and have a fridge. The ground floor rooms are basic and no...

Never in all my years of travel have i ever stayed in such a run down hovel. The bedding was so old. The electrics were dangerous.the bathroom was disgusting.we had an appartment at first and the fridge was rusty and the seal black. Sockets hanging off the wall.black mould round the sink area in kitchen and well the smell was damp and musty.. we were moved next day to a room which was a bit better but still very dated and none of the funiture matched and doors hanhing off cupboards. We had no hot water in the mornings so cold showers it was. As for the staff with the exception of the cleaner they were rude and unhelpful. Do yourselves a favour and stay away from this awful place .

This hotel is poor! Where do I start? I will be as fair as possible really, on arrival was good straight to the taxi very helpful, the rooms r very good size but are very dated like back in the 50s the bathroom was a mess! There was ants everywhere. The beds Were very uncomfy, the bar staff Were nice but did sometimes get in your face especially with the little 1. The alcohol wasn't great, and anybody that says this is a family hotel is crazy! There is a park that is absolute death trap ! Cats everywhere ! The pool had no safety the baby pool was very deep. There is nothing for chrildren. Yes it's cheap, but thers a reason it's cheap. I wouldn't recconend this to any1. Worst holiday I've ever had. Out side of this hotel lovely weather some really nice places to visit friendly people. Blue lagoon was really nice !

This hotel needs a complete overhaul, the staff are very unfriendly and rude especially gazzy who was too busy with young girls at the hotel to notice if anyone would like to order a drink, the rooms in this hotel are all seriously in need of updating, the hotel management are really grumpy and moaning around the pool area every morning, me and my partner have stayed at this hotel 3 times now but it is going right downhill now and there are staff issues every year they get some really good staff but they get rid of them every couple of weeks or months and change them and this is because they do not pay them the wages they owe them which is ridiculous as they are all struggling to make a living. There is loads of hotels much better than this one in the area I know because I go to hisaronu regularly and also stay other places we only went back here because friends were staying here and asked us to go but we will never stay again, also it is really hard to get any sleep at this hotel because there is always loads of noise from the bar and there,s always very rude and ruff people stay there who go back because nowhere else will tolerate them

Room Tip: I would go somewhere else

We stayed in the apartments, they were advertised as having pool/garden view and as having balcony/terrace, they actually look out on to the road and the balcony is not big enough to put a chair on. If you stand on the bed you can see the pool and garden. The rooms however do have good sized balconies. On the up side we had asked for twin beds and got a double so they offered us a family apartment. We wanted to stay in the apartment we were in so they put 2 single beds in for us. The cleaners were in every day and did a good job, the staff were all very friendly and always spoke to us when ever we saw them and we were not asked why we were not eating and drinking there. Will book to stay there next year.

Welcomed in early hours of the morning by Naim whom was polite, friendly & helped carry cases when showing us to our rooms. The rooms were cleaned everyday, however could be updated. Aircon is an extra £20 per wk & work well. Beds are hard but ideal. The pool (chlorine) was very clean & had every tile in place & a felt strip round the pool (safety for children).
The staff were always friendly & would sit with you, read the local & world news to you. Music was always played by the pool (both Turkish & English). English breakfast was a delight & even told them how to make eggy bread which then got served when I required it. Yum Yum
This hotel is in 3 mins walk to all restaurants, bars, clubs & shops. A nice quiet & friendly place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing inland are quieter than pool facing rooms & have a small balcony.
