Just got back from my holiday to Turkey and we stayed in the Barah hotel in Calis beach. What a wonderful hotel to stay in and the staff were amazing.... Had such a lovely time here and would most certainly revisit next year.
Situated right next to the beach with a connecting cocktail bar to watch the amazing sunset.
All rooms have been refubished and very clean, modern and with air conditioning.
I loved this hotel :)

Returned from Bahar hotel on 8th Oct after a three week holiday. The hotel rooms are lovely, the wet rooms and showers are great, but there just isn't enough drawer space. The food and drink are too limited, I would suggest that the hotel raise their prices and offer more variety. This is not to say there was anything wrong with the food or drink because there wasn't. The chefs did a marvellous job on what must have been a very limited budget. A personal bug bear of mine was having to eat all meals around the swimming pool. The sea was literally yards away but the lighthouse bar in front of the hotel blocked the sea view. Both the hotel and bar are owned by the same family. We asked several staff members if we could eat our breakfast at the tables at the bar ( the lighthouse bar did not open until 11am and breakfast service finished at 10am) but everyone was too scared( i presume of the owner) to say yes.

Just a quick word on the staff, Ian and Melda are exceptional and should be paid extra for their effort and friendliness. The cleaners did not change our sheet for 2 weeks, and towels were changed infrequently. I tipped the cleaners ever day but now wished I hadn't done so.

The lighthouse bar never really got busy and it would have been better if the hotel guests could have had our drinks there on an evening (just the all inclusive ones unless you wanted to pay for cocktails) as the extra people drinking there would have encourage passing trade as most people like a lively bar.
As for Calis, the promanade was wide, tree lined and very picturesque both at night and during the day. However, although the sea was warm, the beach was gritty and pebbly with inadequate sun shades and beach loungers. But the worst aspect was the roaming dogs that were constantly present and fouled the sea wall and pavement. The mess was never cleaned up the whole three weeks we were there. Also When returning from a trip another holiday maker showed me a bit he had got from a dog on the beach. Whoever is responsible for tourism in Calis needs to sort these issues out. Dogs should be on a lead at all times, and fouling should be cleaned up. No one should be bitten by a dog, and especially on holiday. Oh and by the way the rottweiller dog loose on the main street (across the bridge) lost the shopkeepers on this street a lot of money because I would have gone there to buy my gifts if it was chained up.
The restaurants and bars were all great and reasonable. The best english breakfast was at Bambu and the best steak was at Bella Mamas.
All the trips I went on were good, and great value for money. Again though I think that in an effort to keep costs low some aspects of the trips were poor. e.g. the two days Ephesus and Pamuluka trip used a very dirty overnight hotel. Everyone said they were disgusted with it and would have paid more for a clean hotel.

The Bahar hotel could do with some means of warming the pool as it was too "refreshing" most days. We were told that the pool is half drained each night because people pee in the pool and use too much suntan cream and therefore the water is always fighting to getting warm. I can't see that the guests at the hotel were engaging in the first named activity but that's what we were told.

So if your not scared of dogs and don't mind them fouling or biting Calis may be the place for you. I will not return unless this issue hs been sorted out.

Room Tip: I am fairly certain that the only room with a front facing sea view is room 313. We stayed in this...

Just returned on 1st October after our 2nd visit to the Bahar. Much improved after the facelift and staff from last year still remembered us (Thanks Ian). The staff work really hard to make your stay a success - food is fresh but noticed cutbacks compared to last year- marg instead of butter; more pasta; more chicken and less red meat. However eating out is really cheap (T bone steaks and drinks for four adults only £60). Rooms 107, 207 and 307 all have 2 beds (a double and a single) whereas the rest have either 2 singles or a double. All have TV (even BBC worldwide) and a wetroom (great for washing off the suncream). We did the 12 island tour via the rep (she is a diamond!) and it was good but a long day. Also did the Tuesday market (take English pounds for best prices and haggle) as well as a shopping trip into Fethiye. Take a Kindle or a book, grab a sunlounger and soak up the sun....absolute bliss!!
The Bahar is so good that people from a nearby hotel visited it and moaned that they were paying more for half-board with worse service and with the amount of peaople who return here - must mean this is a gem. I wouldn't recommend it for kids though.

Room Tip: All rooms have A/C. Rooms 107, 207 and 307 are family rooms with large balconies.

Just returned from 2 glorious weeks(8th Oct) at this family run hotel. The best holiday ever. Everything described in the Olympic Holiday Brochure was 100% accurate. We couldn't fault anything at the hotel or in the surrounding area.
Unlike other places we (2 female friends) felt perfectly safe wandering around at night after a really tough day of sunbathing around the lovely pool or on the beach, only 50 yds from the hotel !!!
The hotel itself is beautiful, always clean and ALL the staff were so friendly. The food was perfectly ok with us plenty of choice and we didn't eat out at all.
I don't think this place would be ideal for some people as , thank goodness, it didn't have much entertainment , disco's or the dreaded karioke !! there was entertainment up and down the promenade if you wanted it, we went and listened to a great 60's night , no charge just stood on prom and joined in !!!
Oh and those sunsets on Calis Beach....wow...brilliant !!!!
We decided to book several trips prior to arriving, we got some great bargains and cheaper that offered by Olympic or on the seafront. We had a couple of days to acclimatise then went on a trip every other day with 2 days to chill out at the end, we felt it was a good way to spend our time but equally you could just spend all the time by the pool, plenty of sun loungers. We found that towels were put on the loungers very early in the morning BUT by 10-11 many had been removed as people decided over breakfast what they were going to do. We hired the sunloungers on beach( 50 yds) away for 10 tl for 2 ,for a day, then took 'beds' from hotel to lie on,therefore leaving the 'towel leavers' a hard bed...shame... he he !!!!
The pool was rather err chilly but the sea was like swimming in a warm bath .Wish we were still there !!!!!!

Room Tip: try for rooms 301,302,303,304 these are on 3rd floor ( or the same on 2nd floor ). These rooms face...
