“A fantastic resort in a perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2009

Before our first visit here, we were a bit concerned by the mixed reviews, but let me reassure anyone considering this place; it is wonderful. The only thing you must be aware of (as we were prior to going) that it is on a hillside so there are a lot of steps, so it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Other than that; it has everything for everyone; activities, entertainment, friendly helpful staff, an amazing resort complex in a great location, and lots of quiet spots to relax in. lots of stuff for kids too and a safe beach for them to play on. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby, a trip to Turkish bath a must (but ones in the town ar much cheaper than the hotel spa) and we also did alovely 2.5 hr walk from Kayakoyu to Oludeniz. Also recommend European Diving Centre in Fethiye for scuba-diving. Amazingly, sun loungers always available too!. As long as you have no issues with steps, you will have a great time here. Go!!!

We have never booked an 'All Inc' and were really pleased that we literally needed very little money during the stay.
Food was varied - salad bar, hot and cold main meals, speciality foods and desserts and drink was a plenty (and all free) There were no real time restrictions to the bars - as many people had told us. You could drink from 9am through to the early hours - if that's your preference?!!
The staff at the resort really made the hoilday - extremely attentive and friendly and hard workers! Activities were in abundance and there was no pressure to join in, although we did some and had great fun. The 'Animation team' were fantastic people and very talented, doing comedy shows, to fire-eating and walking on glass, to every type of dancing and the weekly highlight of 'Moulin Rouge' show.
The weather was wonderful but got a bit chilly in the evening (need a warm wrap/top). The rooms were a little tired but cleaned every day, modern bathrooms with double walk-in showers and balconies to sit out on - afterall we were not there to sit in the room!!
The water taxi (they charge 20 T.Lira return) - this runs from the beach across to Fethiye town which has plenty of shops, a Tuesday Market for bargains and knock-offs and a marina with some cafe-bars. You can go by catamaran to Rhodes from here (1 hour each way) or bus it to the infamous Olu Deniz resort or book a 12 Island boat trip - lots to do (we didn't as we were only there for a week)
Overall a great time and we met some really good, friendly people. We like to hoilday in different places although would definately consider a return trip!!

Have just returned from this superb resort. Where does one begin. Hotel, food, staff wereabsolutely brilliant and hotel location "Out of this World" We could spend hours waxing lyrical about the great two weeks spent on our first visit to Turkey, but be assured "we will be back". Memories to treasure Club Letoonia, Thank you so much.

Don't know how anyone can fault this place, loads to do or just relax.
The animation staff put a lot of effort into all of the events, always something happening. Say hello to Emri, bar staff at Panorama from me!!! He looks like a young Elvis, or was it just the drink!!
The food is very good, loads of it, but the system for booking the a la carte needs changed, as you have to get up very early 8ish to get down to book and even then people push in front of you.
The drinks system is a bit confusing as it is a lot of local spirits too and not just the cocktails that are free.
It is worth going to a la carte's as excellent food. The Moonlight restaurant is great.
The canoeing is great fun, but archery teacher not very good.
The room is very nice, but you can hear a lot of noise from the shows and people were asking to get moved to main building, as a lot of steps.

Don't go on the boat trip, unless you want to swim some more! It only goes around the corner and back again and lunch not that great, you only get soft drinks and beer, not wine.
The grounds and swimming pool are kept very clean. Will definately be back!!
I am thinking of setting up a Club Letoonia fan club!!! As loads of people return.

I stayed at this hotel for 11 days from the 4th May until the 15th May it was hell! When I looked on many different websites and this hotel looked and sounded great, I couldn’t wait to get there and regretted booking for only 11 days instead of 14days. However when I arrived there I regretted booking it at all! When I arrived I was left waiting at reception for an hour until they cleaned our room and got it ready for us (shouldn’t they have done this way before now?). The shuttle boat they provide into Fethiye is advertised as free but you have to pay 10 Turkish lira which is around £5.

Room:

Then they allocated us our room which was at the top of 70 marble stairs which were now slippy due to the rain. The room we had booked was supposed to sleep three people with 3 separate single beds, instead we had one double bed. This would have been fine if we were a family or a group of girls but there was one male with us. I then rang reception and reported this so they sent us a camper bed which when it arrived to the room was soaked, smelled and highly uncomfortable! It was unfit for a human to sleep on I wouldn’t even allow an animal to sleep on it! This was all they could offer us so for the remaining 11days we all had to share one bed! The room we had smelled constantly, a snake living in the bathroom and a leak in the roof, we reported this to reception and they removed the snake but could not offer us another room as they were fully booked. When they did offer us another room after 4 days of sleeping in that hell hole it was even worse! They told us we had the luxury suite and could not pay to upgrade as there was no upgrade (I would hate to see the standard rooms).

Cleanliness:

The room was never cleaned in all of our stay in the Letoonia Hotel. The house cleaner did not come everyday and our towel were not changed on at least 5 occasions. When we rang up to report this is it took them over 2 hours to supply us with towels. However in the toilets throughout the resort their is dove soap to wash your hands with and a paper towel dispenser which is operated without being touched which is very hygienic.

Food:

There was a huge variety of food however it was very repetive. I am a very picky eater and on most nights I found something to eat however I ate the same things for the whole 11 days. The a la carte restaurants are exceptional and the waiting staff through the resort and very friendly and helpful.

Beach and pool:

The beaches and pools are of a very high quality with amazing views. There are slides on the dolphin beach and many different water sports activities for free.

Entertainment:

There are many different activities to take part in throughout the day which include: Big chess, mini golf, football, badminton, tennis and many more. On a night time the entertainment is excellent, they have lots of different types of shows on every night these include: so you think you can dance, Moulin rouge, dance around the world, bollywood and many many more. I would strongly recommend that you at least go to see one of these.

After reviewing my holiday I would never go back there. If they improved their bad points it could be an excellent hotel but it is defiantly not a 4-5 star the way it is at the minute!

My cousin and I went to Club Letoonia 2nd - 9th May 2009. Travelled with Thomas Cook and flew with Monarch. Beware, Monarch like to change your flight times and in our case they changed the plane as well and we lost my extra legroom. Seats on plane are very narrow even for your average sized person and I am above average so was uncomfortable for 3.5 hours. Food on plane is dire so don't bother. Unusual for Monarch.

We were the only people arriving at the hotel. Minibus took us to a feeder station where we transferred to another minibus. Driver was mad. It appears that the Turks don't care which side of the road they drive on and just swerve to avoid each other! Wear your seatbelt!

Check in good as only us arriving. Receptionist changed our room on arrival saying that room was incorrect as we needed a twin not a double. We were thankful for that but on arriving at our room (via a journey on a trailer attached to a small tractor, walking up about 30 steep steps and a slope, walking for about 15 mins before stumbling across our accomodation by accident) we discovered that the key card would not open the door. Sensibly I suggested that my cousin try the room upstairs that we were originally allocated (as I wasn't going back to reception after that journey to the room) and the card worked on that door and she was able to phone from there. Luckily a maid came and let us in quite quickly and a porter appeared about 15 minutes later with a new key card.

Our room was one of the larger sized bungalows in block 17. It had obviously been recently painted as there were drips of paint on the headboard, but it was large and pleasant. The bathroom was very nice, if a little small, but was accessed by 4 steps which was a bit strange. We had no balcony, which was bit disappointing, but apart from that the room was fine, if a bit dated.

Lykia restaurant was the main restaurant. Dinner starts at 7.30pm. Don't even attempt to go there then as all the families with children will be queueing with their starving, tired nd screaming kids. 7.30 is a bit late for kids to eat their dinner.

If you want to book the a la carte restaurants you need to book them at 9am. You need to be there by 8am though, otherwise you will not get a table. I do not like Sushi but my cousin thoroughly enjoyed it, the fish restaurant was good, which is actually set up on the beach with an impressive torch lighting ceremony, don't bother with the turkish, as this is all you will get in the main restaurants anyway.

Food at the Lykia and Marina get really samey after a couple of days as everything starts to taste the same. Dolphin at lunchtime good tho for a hotdog or a burger!

We were unlucky to have 36 hours of solid rain. There is nothing to do if it rains and nowhere to go. The boat to Fethiye does not run and it will cost £20 each way to get a taxi anywhere. Beware, the a la carte restaurants do not open if it rains and neither does the Moon as they are out of doors.

The 2 trips we booked were cancelled due to lack of people wanting to go. Nobody's fault but we were a bit disappointed. Thomas Cook good at giving money back.

Spa is very nice but treatments are expensive.

The sea is nice with Dolphin beach better than Marina or Champagne.

Entertainment: we didn't need to go to the entertainment, we could heart from our room, in fact I think they could probably hear it in Fethiye itself about 3 miles away across the sea lol. Didn't prevent us from sleeping tho and the beds were very comfortable.

Some english TV channels in the room, 1 for the kids and one with random films. Handy when its raining!

Overall we had a good time but don't go if you have walking difficulties unless you can guarantee a room in the main hotel. Our room was supposed to be ground floor !

I was changed into this resort from my original booked hotel which was in central Olu Deniz. I had informed Thomson that I had mobility issues and ended up in a 'bungalow room (minus booked balcony) up 65 marble steps (lethal when wet) then a 150m uphill walk and 24 more steps! There is a train which runs round the flat lower areas of the resort.
Apart from that huge hurdle I think is an excellent resort for those with no health issues. It has everything you need to keep you as active (or not) as you wish, staff are excellent, food choice good and everything clean, entertainment good. My bedroom looked a bit 'tired' - not 4/5* .
I suggest that anyone with mobility problems books hotel room where you will be able to access everything on the flat.
