“Great Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

We found this hotel by accident. In the centre of town and on the water front.
Numerous restaurants close by and boat tours to choose from. Very quiet and relaxing location.
Owner and staff very helpful. Rooms basic but very clean, beds comfortable. Small balcony.
Air con worked and excellent wifi reception.
Hotel restaurant/bar located outside on the water. Lovely place to sit
and watch the world go by. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, usual
Turkish breakfast, and home made jams (yum!) Plentiful and adequate.
Good value for money. Would stay here again.

Perfect location right on the harbor in the heart of Fethiye. We got a standards room and could not belive how big it was, considering the great room rate. We got a room facing the ocean, and with all the windows within the room, made for an excellent stay. Though we drove and parking was a bit of annoyance, the staff assisted and took care of the vehicle.

With the harbor and main street at your doorstep, and easy connection to Oledenuz, this is a great place to stay and would recommend it.

The Kemal Hotel has a great location in the center of town and right on the water. Breakfast was outside, with a lovely view of the water. The room was nice-- nothing spectacular, but basic and comfortable.

The biggest downside of the hotel is parking. We had a car, and while the hotel indicated that it has some parking available, that in fact means that a bunch of cars double and triple park in their driveway. In order to get your car out, you have to hope to have good timing, or else you need several people to move multiple cars back down a narrow street.

The Hotel Kemal does not look like a very nice place from the outside or even from the quite well-maintained website. But it was a great place. Right on the edge of the boardwalk near all of the day boats and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well maintained, although small. There was free wifi, free parking, air conditioning and some great views. And the beds, which we were most worried about, were actually comfortable. Durmus (the owner?) was great. He did not speak much but was always helpful.

For the price, this place could not be beat. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is based on it not being a high-class resort or luxury hotel. But for what it is, it does the job.

Do not kill yourself waking up for breakfast as it is not that special. Very basic.

Almost all Fethiye hotels are in the northern beach area or the western harbor area. But we wanted to stay along the boulevard in the town center, and than the Kemal hotel is probably the only choice. We did not regret it, although the hotel is rather simple and the music from the bar sometimes lasted till deep in the night (limited noise due to decent windows). Kemal seem to be a little bit of everything hotel: turkish business people, western tourists, turkish tourists, bar, restaurant.
Location is perfect, in the center of everything. We had a room with a very small seaside balcony, where you can sit for hours looking at people pass. Small room, outdated interior, proper bathroom. Breakfast simple but ok. No elevator.

Room Tip: View: choose seaside Silent nights: back of hotel

We first stayed there in 2002, spotted it behind the Post Office from a taxi enroute from an "allocated on arrival apartment in Marmaris/Fethiye coach station" and have never looked back. Have been to Fethiye/Oludeniz dozens of times since and in Fethiye never stay anywhere else.
Right on the harbour, brilliant views from the sea facing rooms, very reasonable prices, and good restaurant below.
Clientele is a mix of Turkish business people and families and (mostly British) tourists.
This is a Turkish hotel. Family run. Not on any tour companies books. No swimming pool.
Four stories high and the lift has never worked (if they’ve fixed it I’ll have a heart attack) so you have to walk up several flights of marvelous marble stairs. Difficult for people with mobility problems.
If you go on up to the roof the view is great but no ambience.
The rooms are clean and basic with recently refurbished windows and air conditioning.
Each room ensuite with shower, toilet and sink. Several rooms have a separate bedroom which is essential for us as I snore. Rooms serviced daily. Excellent free WiFi.
Management and staff are top notch from front desk, waiters and cleaners to management. On arrival your bags are carried up to you room.
Turkish breakfast included with full range of optional extras. Lunches and dinners can be Turkish or British. Sit at a table and watch the world go by while enjoying refreshments and the view. Hard to beat.
A few steps from your door, the harbour, post office, banks, shops, bars, restaurants, City Hall next door.
Surprisingly this hotel has never featured in TA reviews, possibly because it is not in any of the tourist company brochures but for my money it’s the best deal in town. The real Turkey.
