We have been here a few times previously but I haven't really thought it was much cop, in all honesty. The first time I went I had wine spilled on me by a kid running around the place, and the other times when we have dined later on I ordered the kiev, which was nice but not amazing. When we went last year, however, it was excellent. The manager told me about all the different types of fish on display and recommended that I try one of their local dishes. I hand picked my fish and asked specifically if I could have mash as I do not eat chips. When the beautifully presented fish came there were chips and rice served with it, but it looked like a pretty good portion so I wasn't that fussed. When the owner came bolting-and I mean running speedily- across with a WHOLE PLATE OF MASH then I was delighted, Needless to say I wolfed the whole plate down and it was delicious. We are obviously going to go there again. Also, they sat us at a nice table by the pond so we could watch the ducks and give them my spare chips. The couple tables are at the back of the restaurant by the pond which gives you a little privacy, which is always nice. Highly recommended.
