We were meeting friends who live live down south for an overnight visit, and they selected the Altamont Old Stone House Inn as a place to rendezvous. It was a lovely choice. Nancy and Bill Turner had bought the home 10 years ago when it had been empty for some years. They did an amazing restoration job . It is located outside the village up a long drive, so it was pleasantly remote (very quiet) with a beautiful view across a meadow. Our rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully furnished. The bed was great!! And the breakfast was really good and served very graciously. We'd be happy to return!! Also they have a very nice and clean swimming pool.
