“Getting worse”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

I had been to this pace three times, in 2012, 2011, 2010 all in December.
In the forst visit, I really liked the atmosphere food and the service, but it is getting worse each time. I graded it average since you can find better in restaurants of similar class in Konya, but overall, it is still good. They served our food cold in the last time, there were also other serving mistakes (normally for many types of kebab, they melt butter in a copper pan and pour it while it is quite hot from the pan. When one of the people with us asked for extra butter, they brought it in a porcelain plate which made it cold immediately, this is a matter of style). Still, highlights of this place are the local food that are: "bamya corbasi" , "etli yaprak sarma". The salad is nice and fresh, try the yogurt, it is also nice. But to eat "the local delicacy" etli ekmek, you should go else where. Same applies to "kuyu kebabi or firin kebabi".

“Great Turkish cusine, average price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

This restaurant is now called Konak Konya Mutfagi. Food tasted fantastic (liked best about the place). The starter salad was great. Price was average, what we expected. Service was excellent. Dessert was fantastic. We sat inside...not noisy, but if you get the room immediately to the right of entering it's a bit cramped...chairs and tables too close (liked part the least). The good thing about being in that small cramped room was, there was always a waiter around. We're going back (just sitting in a different secion).

“Best food we had in Turkey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

**Note: this restaurant is now called Konak Konya Mutfagi**

We had a great experience here - great food, service and value for money. It is a little hard to find but definitely worth looking for.

We had lunch here and sat in the garden outdoor seating of the restaurant. Service staff were very friendly, attentive and proactive. When deciding what to eat, our waiter offered us a "tasting menu" of the Konya specialities - 4 half portion main servings of the best dishes. He did this for us for the appetizers and the desserts as well. As a result, we got to sample many more dishes - all of which were fantastic in their own right.

Appetizers - Mixed salad and onion salad (onion salad was simple but surprisingly very tasty)
Mains - Tirit (yogurt based meat dish), Sebzeli Kozleme Kebab (meat with vege stew), Firin Kebab (Slow roasted lamb) and Ekmek Salmasi. All 4 mains were delicious but each varied enough in taste
Dessert - Helvasi (a konya version of hellva) and Sac Arasi (konya version of Baklava). Both were terrific

Best of all, when the bill came, it was 40 TL for a total of 2 half portions of salad, 4 half portions of mains, 2 half portions of dessert and 2 turkish coffees. Food was enough for 2 people and very satisfying

Would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

We liked this restaurant. Although busy, the service and the food were both good and the bill very reasonable

“Best food in Turkey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We were recommended this place by our hotel owner. The food was the best we had in Turkey and very reasonably priced. Being in Konya, there is no alcohol but the food more than makes up for it. It was so good, we came back a second night - something we rarely do.
