“Just perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

We exchanged our hotel at the last minute due to a promotion at booking.com. What a luck! Simply the best hotel of our entire trip to Turkey and Greece. Just perfect!

The hotel, located in a traditional Ottoman house, has impeccable décor. The room (we got an upgrade) was simply huge and very beautiful. The bathroom was wonderful (also spacious and with a very good shower).

The breakfast was also very tasty .

But the best part of our stay was certainly the respect and kindness with which we were greeted by the owners or employees of the hotel. They simply helped us in all aspects, with restaurant tips , bringing bottled water to our room (no charge!) and even giving us a ride to the metro station. But in fact, none of that matters because, when we are treated well, we know it is the small details that make the difference...

Thanks to everyone, especially Adam, for such a nice time...

Room Tip: The Sultan Room. :)

Great place with absolutely amazing owners! And the location of this gorgeous house couldn’t be better – only a 3-minute walk from the Mevlana museum (which in my opinion is the top attraction). The rooms are very clean and beautifully appointed. You have to take off your shoes and switch into provided slippers as this is a historic place (a 200-year old renovated Ottoman house). The surrounding streets are littered with similar houses in desperate need of restoration.

It may be a bit tough to find, so make sure to bring the full address of the hotel or be ready to call them for directions. Unfortunately our GPS didn’t work in Turkey, so we basically drove in the direction of Mevlana museum and then asked around for the street by showing the address. There’re tons of hotels in towns so the locals may not always know. But it’s definitely worth searching for.

What you see on their website is exactly what you get – in fact, it will probably exceed your expectations. When in Konya, this place is definitely an oasis. Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else, book here!

This B&B is fantastic, special place, special spirit. The place is owned and managed by 2 brothers, Mehmet and Muamer, who both travel a lot, and know what a traveler needs. Mehmet Abi gave us great advices about other spiritual places to visit nearby, we spoke about history, religion, philosophy... It add up to such a lovely stay. The owners speak English, so there is no problem in communicating, as I experienced during my trip. The hotel is something like 3 minutes away from the Mevlana Museum, hotel is clean and decorated with taste, no kitch anywhere around. The rooms are well decorated, the bed is possibly one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in which is also very important. Breakfast is healthy, lots of choice and good and quality food is there. The stay in Dervish Hotel made my Turkey road trip even more special, wonderful and exciting. Truly recommend this place.

Just like Konya in general. Dervis Otel has a special spirit. I loved staying there and for the life of me, I can't say exactly why because on paper, it doesn't add up. The whole is more than the sum of its parts. You take your shoes off when you enter the hotel, like a house -- and it used to be an Ottoman house. It is very, very clean. The room we stayed in was big and well appointed but not particularly beautiful. It had a king and a single bed. Room to do yoga on the floor next to the bed. Bathroom tiny and the large towels are good for exfoliating your skin -- not soft or plush at all (probably my only substantive complaint). The second floor landing was also a large space around which the other rooms were situated and at night, I found it a great place to meditate. The hotel was quiet. No TV in the room. TV is in the basement / lounge -- where breakfast is and tea and coffee available 24/7. The only English station is Al Jazeera. The location was pretty good - easy walking distance to everything. Not enough to get an excellent vote from me usually. The staff were wonderful, especially Adam. All of the staff literally floated up the stairs when they led us somewhere and had such bright and twinkling and shining eyes. The lived up to the name of the hotel with a very spiritual vibe and vision -- it felt that they really saw how things were going for you before you said anything. They also were very helpful in recommending places to shop, to bathe, to eat, to visit / see, to take a day trip to -- and just doing whatever needed to be done to assist. It was not an expensive place to stay -- excellent vale. In sum, I'm not sure exactly why I loved staying here so much, but I did and I would highly recommend it to others.

We were lucky to find a room in such a charming hotel during the Mevlana Festival. We stayed in the "guesthouse" and not in the hotel proper. The guesthouse is an, as yet, unrestored historic house behind the hotel with tons of interesting architectural details ( and the quirkiest bathroom I have ever seen ;)
Our hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Konya is a city of unexpected charm, and our stay was fantastic. I highly recommend a visit to both the city and this hotel, and hope to return again.

...stay at the Dervish Hotel. The rooms and bathroom are clean; the water is hot; and the staff are warm. Coffee, tea and fruit are available 24-7; the excellent breakfast fuels you up until you're stuffed.

Mehmet and Muammer and Adam will make your stay enjoyable and ensure you have everything you need during your visit to Konya.

When in Konya...I stay at the Dervish.

Muammer and Adam made sure we were comfortable and cared for in this clean, comfortable and optimally restored Ottoman House -- we greatly enjoyed our two days in charming, authentic and under-visited Konya. They helped us orient ourselves to this fascinating city, arranged for our taxi to/from the Catalhoyuk archaeological site (wonderful driver named Omer), provided us with a fine breakfast, and made our stay smooth and warm. Our room (no. 17) was comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom was outstanding (best shower ever, perhaps!) and spotlessly clean. The hotel is a few short blocks from the Mevlana Museum and the start of the fascinating Konya Bazaar district, which made it ideal for us. Highly recommended to all! (Look to see if you can spot the street art "I Love Konya" dervish graffiti a block or two away, it's great.)

Room Tip: Room 17 has a large double bed, a single bed, high restored wooden ceilings, a great bathroom and lo...
