Have just returned to sunny England from a weeks stay at the Piril Hotel in Cesme and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. Comparing the hotel to others that I have stayed at in Turkey with prices and star ratings I was more than satisfied. Managed to get a great last minute deal through Thomas Cook for myself and my partner. The hotel staff are great, always happy to help. The cleaners do a fantastic job, every day our room was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard, they even folded and tidied our own clothes.
The all inclusive for myself was great and I enjoyed it, never struggled to find something I could eat. One thing I will say though is if you are a fussy eater you may hit a problem or two. There wasn't much English food on offer and by that I mean stuff like chips, burgers, sausages maybe.. the kinds of things kids might like. Like I say this didn't bother me, I go on holiday to try different things and experience that culture.. but if your a fussy eater or you have children it might be something worth considering.
It was a good time of year to go, the hotel wasn't too busy.. yet busy enough to meet people and make friends and the weather was great. Make the most of the Spa whilst you are there.. it is FREE. Any treatments need to be paid for but use of thermal pools, steam room, sauna, Turkish bath is all completely free. Myself and my partner paid to have the scrub and Turkish bath and I couldn't recommend it enough.. it was so relaxing and I felt really good afterwards, it was a great way to start the holiday.
I have to give credit to the entertainments team Yasin and Pauline. Out of season it must be hard for these guys and I'm sure they don't have a huge budget but they were always trying there best to make our stay a fun one. From bingo, to karaoke, quizzes, water polo, darts they were always entertaining us as best as they could with the resources that they were given.
The hotels "night club" was closed for refurbishment.. but this didn't bother me to be honest.
The best advice I can give anyone is regarding excursions. If you want to book a trip out... shop around. DO NOT immediatley book through your reps because they will rip you off. Thomas cook were trying to charge 210TL per person for a trip to Ephesus. We managed to find the exact same trip through a company in the town for 170TL for BOTH of us. We saved 240TL just by booking elsewhere and still managed to have a great time. The company we booked it through was called Simay Travel which is based on the left past the castle down by the marina. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
My one last point regarding the bedroom would be in hindsight bringing an extension lead may be wise. I'm not sure about other rooms but we had one plug socket in our room and on more than one occasion this wasn't enough when phones/cameras/straightners etc needed plugging in. It didn't matter too much to us but if you have the need to use lots of plugs bare that in mind
Overall I am giving the Piril a well deserved 5/5! Everyone has their gripes and moans and what but for less than £400 pp for a week all inclusive flights everything included I am over the moon at the standard and cannot recommend this hotel enough.
