Loved The town. Plenty to do for all ages. Brill aqua park. Markets galore. Busy nightlife. Everest bar the place to be. Then on to Palm Beech til early hours. Small town easy accesable by the local Dolmush. Fantastic beech coast. Very friendly locals. Will be going back real soon. Altinkum a must have for any Turkey lover!!!!

Oh my god!!!!!!! what can i say this place in amazing, it has everythink from a a fantastic beach to wow bars and wine and dine restaurants. The bars are out of this world the guy who work in them are great so friendly and do dance shows which are great to watch and the drink is very cheap, some bars to go to
1) swan bar 2) palm beach 3) dolphin bar 4) ignite bar in didim.
they are the best ones!!!!
The beach is outstanding but does get busy in the summer but there is three to choice from, theres also boat trips and a water park in bodrum and didim shopping centre and the saturday market in didim which its were you will get all the goods from bags to watches and clothes.
The nightlife in altinkum is 24/7 it never stops if your looking for a good holiday stay in a hotle on the main road like the horizon or burak or budak, or if your wanting a quite but busy at night you can stay up near the beach eg tantus hotel.
As a travel agent i have been sending alot of people to this resort because you get alot more for your money and its just amazing would suit all ages even the elder as the day is lovely just walking down the beach front and the ruins that you can see, to get to anyhere get the dolmus bus only cost 1lira or a taxi will cost 15lira and that will take you anywhere in altinkum or didim which is a very good price.
You need to pay a english £10 to get in the country its only a 4 hours flight and thy are 2hours ahead of us.
Temps it get very hot in the summer but is you go to the 3rd beach there is a lovely brezze and there loads of bars you can sit in. Best months to go is may june and september and october.
They are well known for the local beer efe which is lovely.
all i can really say is give it a try and you will love it it a amazing place you will never want to go go anywhere else. I love it that much i have been over 20 times and am moving there in the summer.

I love Altinkum - I go there every year (sometimes twice a year - I bought an apartment there !). You can walk to the Temple of Apollo or you catch the Dolmus (local minibus) then cross the road for a cool drink before you head back. Pop up to Didim for a look around - there is a Saturday market and you can wander around the local shops up there and get a much better bargain than you will at the sea front shops. Another place you should visit is the new water park opened the year before last, a great inexpensive day out but don't book with Reps just catch the Dolmus - tell them where you are going and they will sort you out (so much cheaper). Ephesus is one excursion you must go on once in your lifetime - it is magical, book with a local company - I have always used 'Love Tour' and would reccomend them. If you want an alternative place to eat out for a lot less money then visit the 24 hour restaurants a short walk uphill from the sea front - 'Saray ' and 'Saray 2' and 'Alo 24' , the food is gorgeous (especially the Tomato Soup - trust me) this is where the Turkish people eat every day of the week so it has to be good. You will have a great time in Altinkum, the people are so friendly and helpful and the place is so nice.

We have been to Turkey now 3 times and this was curtainly the worst place we have been, the resort has a Benidorm feel and the shops are more money grabbing and ruthless than any resort we have been to before, it lacks charm and is quite tacky, having been to Turkey before were aware of the bartering and hassel which takes place but not for the rudeness of some of the shop/stall holders, the place is a spralling mass which has none of the character of the previous resorts visited (Ichmeler & Olu Deniz), there are also lots of stray dogs that roam around the resort and seafront, and although not agressive follow you if you walk anywhere, and are very hard to shake off. There are far too many bars and restaurants for the amount of people that visit which amounts to only a few people in each or none in some which creates little or no atmosphere, unless you like sweaty bare chested Turkish boys dancing to rave music in a suggestive fashion, or like just premiershipe football/sky. It does however have a nice beach and the impressive Apollon Temple which are both well worth a visit, and a little gem of a restaurant called 'Moonlight' down a side street which served excellent food at good prices in a relaxed environment. all in all if your in your 20's it might be your thing! but if 40 & over give it a miss as there are some far better resorts that do Turkey far more justice, Turkey is a beautiful country with some wonderful places to visit, but if this had of been our first visit would have been put off ever returning
