Not the nicest place in the world to be honest. Now it was the first time I've been to turkey so we didnt really know what to expect, a bit ignorant we assumed it would be quite like spain, not so.

Our first impressions of the room were pure disappointent. After climbing 4 flights of stairs and fighting to open the door we were greated with the smell of poo. After flying through the night and a long bus journey our first thoughts turned to the shower which was COLD!! (yes we did try both taps).

We'd looked at the property online through the right holiday web site and expected each room to come with a kitchenette (as it boasts all rooms do). Ours came with a kettle cable, not a kettle, just a cable. No fridge that we could rent or anything so quite disapppointing again. The web site advertised air con at £15 a week. Well try £40 in reality. Us stubburn poor bums refused, and although I could cope my poor boyfriend took to sleeping on the balcony.

No food OR drink allowed in your rooms, they expect you even to buy your water from them which is a bit cheap i think. Esp since there is no way you could drink from the taps in the bathroom. Whenever we dared to go there it was holding our noses till we came out. O by the way we occasionally had hot water, occasionally.

Staff can be your best mates if you give them lots of money. Or if you're a single young girl. Bit sleezy really. We saw one of the guys who clearly thought he was hot stuff try to chat up a couple of nice looking girls the first day and then throw one of them into the pool. Might have been funny if she hadn't slipped. Pool is pretty shallow so I guess it could have been worse.

Despite my grumblings we still managed to have a good time. We kind of laughed off our misfortune and maybe if we had complained we would have gotten a nicer room. We ate there the last night and it really was quite good, probably our best meal, we went for the turkish special for two, worth gettting.

My final thoughts... well just a bit bitter about the air con. The only thing really that I regret. Prob more advisable going for a nicer apartment but we were quite close to the beach. I've stayed in way nicer hostels. What I would say is that if you're on a tight budget and you're not too fussy you might not mind the crap bits.

having been to turkey many times, visiting many places and making various friends,i think the yagmur and its staff and owners are a disgrace to the nation of turkey,as previously stated in one of the reviews if you dont buy drinks or food from the apartments directly they do not want to know you and ultimaterly ignore you, first holidays were a total and utter embarassment we had a rep, turkish guy,who we didnt see for the whole 2 weeks of the holiday and when we eventually had to travel to make a few complaints he incrediously told us it was our problem and left it at that, and there was me thinking reps were there to try and help holidaymakers with there problems,on the day of departure i even had to have a turkish friend phone them to find out or departure time as they didnt even bother to put our destination time on the board, turkey is a fantastic country with some fantastic people but dont go to the yagmur expecting to find any of them,do yourself a favour and book elsewhere.

“Fantastic holiday”

Yagmur Apartments

Aug 7, 2007

Booked the holiday through Right Holidays and admittedly when we got to our room we were disappointed as had booked it on the premise of 1 bed apartment with kitchen and we were put in a studio with no kitchen. We waited for the rep (never saw them for the whole holiday!!) in order to move rooms and when they didn't show up we explained to the manager (Nigel). He was initially concerned as obviously the travel companies fault however was then more than accommodating in moving us to one of the apartments which was fantastic, cleaned everyday and very well maintained. The resort was quite quiet at the time we were there so there was never any problem with sunbeds and the pool is lovely (plenty of time in the sun!!). Also its only a 2 or 3 min walk from the beach and resoirt centre. Admittedely they don't like you bringing things around the pool that you haven't bought at the apartments but thats been the same anywhere else we've stayed in Turkey. We ate at the apartments about 3 times and the food was great and very reasonable.
The staff were brilliant with us and I would recommend these apartments to anyone.

“dont bother !”

Yagmur Apartments

Aug 5, 2007

booked with right holidays to stay at era apart,(didim, altinkum) but was dumped here instead :( room looked ok but the problems started immediately. the plumbing is crap, the electric goes off several times a day, the pool/loungers are utterly inadequate for the number of guests and the owners families kids were hogging it anyway. the worst problem was the staff !!! hassle from first day to eat and drink only from them (overpriced) and when we went out to see the resort, we were subjected to sarcastic [--] comments, high pressure sales, and nasty looks, until day 3 after which the staff resorted to trying to totally ignore us, even when we were asking for the key etc! when we did buy something from them, they kept trying to rip us off and overcharge. Horrible place. Not at all like my previous experience of turkey...shame they havent bothered to meet the usual high standards there. Couldnt wait to leave! and dont try to walk in with a half drank bottle of water...the hotel wont allow it ! you can only drink/eat THEIR stuff on the premises!!
