The review written below titled "never again" is largely accurate.
Those others who gave it a good review must be easily pleased or got a room much better than ours.
Our review-

We have just returned from Altinkum on 17 Sept 2007. Whilst we enjoyed the holiday it was marred by our BIG mistake of choosing the Atlantik apartments.
Our room was terrible. Problems were,
Tv not working- took 3 days to get it working on its 2 channels.
Cooker not working,
Water not even luke warm. Impossible to shower most days.
Fungus on the wall from the air conditioner,
Antique fridge that turned water into ice even at its lowest setting.
Dangerous electrical wiring throughout including a live wire connected to the light fitting in batroom that was used to power a now removed shower.
Filthy treadbare sofa in "dining area"
Insufficient crockery - not even a bowl for to have have some cereal.
No table to eat from.
Sheets were worn and holed - when changed still had holes.
Balcony always shaded and 3 meters from next block.
Outside air con unit dripping water on to the balcony.
View was just weeds and rubbish strewn everywhere.

Male staff were extremely unhelpful aparrently could not speak English and could only shrug their shoulder when informed about problems.

If you are going to Altinkum I strongly recommend that you avoid Atlantik. There must be better than tis around.

My wife and I (both 29 yrs old) have just returned from a fantastic week's stay in the Atlantic appartments. We booked 3 days before we left on the Thomas Cook website and got an absolute bargain. We had a good but terribly timed night flight arriving at Bodrum airport at 0400. Met by grumpy T.C. rep but comfortable transfer in minibus to resort.

First impression of appts : 1980's and a bit tatty 4 storey building but clean. Basic room of adequate size but very basic utensils and pans and electric plug-in hob (we didn't use any of this even though we were self catering - we ate out). Small balcony and cheap taccy furniture but all functional. Awoke to quiet hotel overlooking the fairly small but nonetheless nice and clean pool. All the staff are FANTASTIC. We felt that they would do anything to help. The only problem we had was a fused light bulb which was fixed in minutes. The bar by the pool was lovely and fairly cheap (about £1.80 for a bottle of lager). The basement of the hotel contains a fantastic Turkish bath area - we had a sauna, turkish massage and then professional oil massage nearly everyday (£13 each for the works lasting about 90 mins). Excellent free pool table and table-football.

The hotel is probably about 500yrds from the main beach which was lovely and surprisingly clean. There are a fair few vendors on the beach but they were far less annoying or persistant than many that we have come across elsewhere. (2 of the vendors will get you cold drinks if you ask them - £2 to have a nice cold premium bottle of beer delivered to your sunlounger by the sea cant be bad! (sunloungers x2 and umbrella for the day for £4 is n't bad either).
The resort itself is fairly relaxed and safe (once you learn to politely say no to the many restraunteurs desperately vying for your trade). Food was OK and varied but not particularly cheap (chinese on the seafront should be avoided as it is a rip-off and the food isn't good).

We may well return again next year. I would go to the Atlantik appts if: I was a couple looking for a quiet cheapish break, or if I had youngish children (although v.hot so suntan cream needed by the bucket load).

I wouldn't advise you to go to the Atlantik appts if: you whinge if the sheets aren't ironed or if the sink isn't sparkling. Or if you aren't willing to spend a few extra pounds exploring the local restaurants (or kebab shop just down the road which is amazing). I wouldn't advise groups of lads to go to Altinkum as I think you a)would get bored and b)wouldn't get let into most of the clubs (rules against groups going into clubs unless you are locals!)

hi we went to this hotel in october 2006 we have been to several places in altinkum but this was just great the staff were great no hassle just helpfull the hotel is in a great location one thing i would say is that when we where there we did not have many other guests in the hotel so it might be diffrent in the busy season but the location is great for everything anyway.

When i stayed at the Atlantic Apartments in June 2005, i was pleasantly surprised how immaculate the rooms were. It is the best holiday i have ever had and with the accommodation being 100% it made it all the better. As soon as i got there with family we were made to feel very welcome. The bar staff there were the best. The barmen were Zana and Emra, all they ever done was make our holiday more pleasurable, especially round the pool. There was also Linda and Ali who ran the turkish bath business, i recommend a turkish bath to anyone, especially from Linda and Ali, who are actually situated in the Atlantik apartments, value for money i say and friendly too. For meals i would recommend Characters pub, it is brilliant, the people there are also very welcoming. People to talk to there would be Metin, Canel and Ahmed, they are the main people i spoke to. Another place to eat would be the Kalyon, food is also very nice there. Then for night time amusement i would recommend Dolphin Square.
