Add this review to the chorus of people who have rated the Hotel Venus so highly.

What’s not to love about this small hotel? The rooms have been recently renovated and are immaculate, comfortable, and well-decorated. The air conditioning works very well and is controllable via a remote control. The free wireless internet access works well. The bathroom is excellent with marble floors and a wonderful shower-bath. The environment is peaceful and quiet.

The covered outdoor dining area is delightful with a manicured garden and a small, well-maintained swimming pool. (It’s a great place to relax with an Efes pilsner from the nearby cooler.) The meals are authentically Turkish and are excellent. The included breakfast is ample and, in addition to the typical olives, tomatoes, cheeses, yogurt, etc., it includes an omelet (or eggs prepared to your request) – not common in Turkey. All this for about 30 Euros.

All that would be more than enough, but the real secret to the charm of this hotel are the proprietors. Ibrahim and Karyn make everyone feel that that they are at home. They make extraordinary efforts to assure that their guests are cared for. Karyn spent real time talking with us, giving advice, answering questions. When our television stopped working, Ibrahim spent hours troubleshooting and drove to Denzili to get a replacement satellite box, despite our protests that we didn’t really mind not having a television.

We had initially planned to stay just one night. After all, the main attraction in Pamukkale is the travertines and they can be seen in an hour or two. And there is so much more to see in Turkey. However we quickly were taken with the relaxing charm of the Hotel Venus and booked an additional night. It was a great decision. As we soon discovered, there is more to the Pamukkale area than the travertines. We explored the Roman ruins above the travertines, bathed in the ancient outdoor thermal pool, went to a nearby cave, and visited Denzili, a textile center, to do some bargain hunting. There is more to do – just ask Karyn. You should seriously consider spending 2 nights (or more) at the Venus.

The hotel seems to serve a wide variety of clientel – backpackers, families, newlyweds, and older travelers (like us).

We stayed in a wide variety of hotels during our 11 days in Turkey, including an upscale resort in Fethiye. We liked the Hotel Venus the best.

Everything I read in Tripadvisor was true about Venus. It is the best place to stay in Pamukkale. The service was first class, the room was more than I expected, the food was great & I only wish more hotels would copy their style. The staff treated us like a long lost family member, helping us to make our way to the sites, even suggesting we call them if we had any difficulty with the rest of our travels in Turkey. The young couple who run the place, Karyn & Ibrahim are just delightful. I kept getting myself into trouble with hair dryers, locked doors & internet stuff ups & they just smiled through it all & fixed it up. No fuss.

At dinner time they actually played real Turkish music, it was all quite serene in the pretty garden with a cute golden retriever lolling around on the grass.

The room was newly renovated, clean, bright & comfortable as well as roomy. I spied another room for 3 which was huge.

I guess saying all this is a waste though as its a small hotel, they don't need selling because 'word of mouth' & tripadvisor has kept it fully patronised. I'm just repeating what other have said before me.

Thanks guys for a great stay.

We only stayed one night, but two would have been better, as it turned out. We had arranged through the hotel for a private car from Izmir airport and it was there waiting for us. We had asked to see a couple of Roman sites, Tralleis and Nysa on the way, to break up the journey - expensive, compared to the local buses, but well worth considering. Both sites were worth a visit, if only to compare to Heiropolis and Ephusus. The other advantage is that we were the only people there - if you have joined the crush at Ephusus, you'll understand that this is something that may appeal to those who want to soak up the atmosphere. The Gate at Tralleis was probably the best we saw in Turkey, pic attached. As the other reviews state, lovely garden and pool area, recently re-done, friendly family run hotel and good food. Slightly away from the main tourist strip, but easily walkable if required.

“Home away from home”

Venus Hotel

Have been meaning to write this review for a while, myself, my husband and adult daughter stayed here after overnight rail trip from Istanbul. It was an oasis after pleasant but busy stay in Istanbul, and it was a relaxing and informative start to our exploration of the Turkish country side. The spacious triple room reminded me of my auntie's place (spotlessly clean and homely)
The food was home cooked and huge helpings, swimming pool welcome after a hot trek to the travertines and back, better than forking out for expensive overcrowded hot pools at the site. The highlight for us though was Karen's wonderful suggestions for places to stay on our onward journey. Not only that she rang the next place at Selcuk and booked it for us. Now that is service! and made all the difference to our holiday.

For our 2-night stay in Pamukkale, we chose Venus Hotel based on the recommendation in Lonely Planet. It is a warm and friendly place. The owner Ibrahim and his parents were very helpful, giving us rides and making arrangements for excursions.

The dining room is very cozy, we got to meet other guests over dinner. Our bedroom was lovely with hot water all the time! During our ten day visit to Turkey, we stayed in many different B&Bs. I must stay this was an experience we remember most fondly.
