“Excellent location with a view of the terraces.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

I arrived around 6 am in the morning even though reception was closed they opened the door for me and checked me into a room straight away. Fantastic cosy little place feels like home away from home. I loved it! Very close to Pamukale, beautiful terrace to have your breakfast with nice views of Pamukale. Very helpful staff, special thanks to Mirvat and her husband for all the help and the warm welcome. Rooms are nice n comfortable, price is great close to shops and everything.

Room Tip: Excellent location with a view of the room.

We arrived to this hotel after it having been recommended by one of our cruise mates. The people at the hotel are very friendly and this is what I mostly remark! But the room was quite small, and unfortunately could hear everything going on outside which woke me up more than once each night; the AC wasnt working, which was a bit annoying as well. More than anything the staff was what I was truly happy with. The hotel is located just around the corner of the travertines, but in reality Pamukkale is quite small, so it is easy to get to it walking distance.

This is really a small pension, not a hotel. I expected more, based on the fact that it calls itself a hotel and on positive reviews at another website. The staff were polite and the courtyard with the pool was simple but looked well maintained. The pool itself was small and a bit cold, but clean.

The real problem was the rooms. We were shown a room with double bed and a small bathroom with a shower spigot (no stall, just a spigot, so it would be impossible to keep the shower spray away from all areas of the bathroom). The TV looked good, but the mini fridge was ancient. The room was small, furnishings looked worn, and there were no window screens, but we thought it would meet our needs. However, when I sat on the bed, it sagged down so much that I could feel the mattress springs and the frame underneath the mattress. We asked to see other rooms with double beds, but they felt similar. Some beds sagged noticeably on one side or in the middle. The only place I can remember staying with worse beds was a small pension in a Bolivian village, where I paid less than $3 per night. I am not unusually finicky about beds, but these mattresses really should have been tossed ages ago. A double bed located in a triple room felt a bit better, but was more expensive and still felt substandard. The woman showing us rooms said that they were only renting the hotel from the owners, so perhaps the state of the furniture is not the fault of the managers, but that doesn't make it any better for guests.

All in all, this pension does not offer good value for money. Its biggest selling point is the fact that it is close to the travertines, but many hotels and pensions in Pamukkale have this feature. We decided not to stay, and found that other pensions a bit further away, but still within easy reach of the travertines, offer better beds, fresher rooms, and a similar pool for less money.
