Arrived with a tour group for an overnight stay. Turkish tour guide bragged that this was a top-class hotel.

Staff at reception were rather stand-offish and business-like. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. We had to climb the stairs since the hotel does not have any lifts! The bell-boy had to lug our suitcases up the stairs.

The room was smallish and worse for wear. A small window and no balcony. The air-conditioner was ineffective - blew warm air even at the maximum cold setting. The hair-dryer in the bathroom blew cold air even at the hot setting. The door-knob to the bathroom was almost falling apart. The electric shaver power point did not work. Alternatively, we unplugged one of the lights plugs from the wall only to realise that the socket was coming off the wall thus exposing bare wires.

Food in the dining room was commendable. A pianist entertained us with a medley of oldies while we dined. We had to pay for bottled drinking water.

Outdoor thermal pool seemed mucky, and we did not risk a soak in it.

Awful experience. The decor was something out of the 1960s and the rooms made you itchy just looking at the bed covers! The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and there's not much happening at the hotel to keep you entertained so be prepared to be in bed by 10.00pm. The staff were very unhelpful and rude. When we arrived we were told there was no lift and that we would have to carry our luggage up three flights of stairs (which we did) but then discovered that there was a lift. The food was disappointing with no Turkish or local specialities on the menu. I found the drinks more expensive than London and by no means anywhere near the same quality with most spirits being dodgy immitations to the real thing. Don't stay here.

“No customer service - unfriendly hotel. A bad experience”

Stayed for one night at the Richmond Pamukkale Thermal hotel whilst on a tour with Book Club Travel on a seven day holiday. The service was so bad. Not even the manager was willing to sort problems out. The drinks were watered down and more expensive than London and the food not acceptable. No smiles from staff. All seemed to be controlled like puppets. Eg if it was fried Eggs on a particular day you had to have that and dare not ask for scrambled! They even charged for water at the hotel. One could not just fill their water bottles up at breakfast without additional charges being applied to your account. Never again would I stay there.

stayed here overnight on a tour and wont be going back. Food average, staff unhelpful and service poor. Belly-dancing mostly involved embarrased guests attempts and all prices in euros and converted twice (to Lira and then sterling) so works out very expensive. Would say massage was one of the best though.

We stayed at this hotel for one night only and that was long enough.
The staff were unfriendly - most had stern expressions on their faces
- not a smile anywhere to make you feel welcome. When we asked for directions to the thermal pool the lady at the desk just nodded impatiently in a particular direction. When the coffee dispenser was
slow in dispensing the coffee, and I was at a loss what to do, the captain who was watching me said in a very impatient voice and frown,
"Wait, wait".

Breakfast was good with a wide spread of food. There were waiters stationed at different points in the large dining room and I thought they were there to welcome us and to help us as we were not familiar with Turkish breakfast fare. But I believe they were there to stand guard over us to make sure we did not take out any food.

We witnessed an incident which shoud not have occurred in any hotel.
A Japanese tourist was wheeing his trolley bag out of the breakfast room and in the trolley pocket was a small bottle of water. The captain stopped him and asked him where he had got the water from. The Japanese man, in his halting English replied that he had bought it the night before. The Captain said that that was not so. When the Japanese man tried to explain further, the Captain told him in his face, "You are lying". We could not believe that an incident like this can happen where hospitality should be the key word. Even if the tourist had taken some water from the breakfast room, surely the hotel can spare that small amount! Talking about water - I asked for some hot water for my flask. I was told to go the bar to get it. I went to the bar and was told to go to the third floor instead. I went
to the third floor and spoke to the only person there. He was courteous and asked me to wait while he made a phone call. After waiting for a few minutes, who should appear, but the very same captain and when I asked for the hot water he said very curtly,
"$3". (US)Needless to say I went without the water. At every hotel I stayed in Turkey, I asked for hot water for my flask and every time it was given me with a smile, no questions asked and definitely at no charge! However, although I am willing to pay for the water,(expensive at US$3) I definitely take umbrage at the staff's attitude.

I stayed at the hotel for only one night - arriving late and departing after breakfast. These instances of rudeness and curtness occurred in about 12 hours' stay at the hotel. The other 5 members in my group would have more incidents to report! If a hotel views guests as nuisances and potential thieves, it should not be in the hospitality business!
