“The best boutique hotel in Cappadocia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2010

Wonderfully and tastefully decorated small hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much. choose from their web site the look of your room because each one is differently decorated. Breakfast on the sunny terrace is a wonderful way to start the day and late afternoon tea time the same. don't miss it.

This is perhaps our favorite hotel, period. We had one of the basic rooms and it was still large and opulent with a large soaking tup and fireplace. When we returned from our adventures each day there were fresh goodies waiting in the room. The staff was outstanding, always available to answer questions, help with arrangement and to bring a warm cup of cay. Breakfast on the terrace was a wonderful start to each day with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. We had dinner in the private dinning room one evening which was delicious although we wished we had just order the extensive selection of mezes since it was more than enough for two. Cappadocia is a wonderful destination all around -- magical. We can't wait to go back. Cheers!

Arguably the most romantic getaway this side of the Bosporus, the Sacred House is characterized by kindling fireplaces, palatial rooms, small town serenity, and imaginative ambiance. Christian motifs subtly displayed in the hotel’s décor provides historical context of Cappadocia’s religious history. This 250 years old estate has been refurbished to surpass modern expectations of discerning nobility of today’s era. Well presented staff are always on call to be helpful yet are not distractingly present.

Sacred House has an impressively fine kitchen for such a small hotel. It serves in stonewalled chambers illuminated with massive candelabras. This castle-like atmosphere provided for me a snapshot to post-medieval Europe (albeit with an Oriental flair).

To escape the hustle and bustle of Istanbul, I took my lady friend here to Cappadocia for a weekend escape. Sacred House made that diversion extraordinarily special.

Sacred House is a very special place indeed. Set in a quiet street near the center of Urgup it really is a hidden gem. Most folks visiting Cappadocia won't get to see much of their hotel as there's just so much to do with ancient cave churches, 'fairy chimneys', underground cities etc.

Alas one of us became unwell with a virus (brought from home I might add) and so we ended up spending a week in the hotel with Yesim and her wonderful team.

Whilst their website shows just how beautiful and unique each room is the real difference is made by the team there. The kindness and consideration shown was truly outstanding ... nothing was ever too much bother. We are looking forward to going back there and finishing our trip very muc indeed.

Like the other reviewers have written, Sacred House is a one-of-a-kind stay. I loved everything about it -- our rooms were breathtaking, and I think our bathroom (in "The Old Chapel" room) was the most beautiful I've ever seen in a hotel. Visiting in March, the weather was quite cold, but the rooms were cozy and management even brought a heater into our daughters' room. Staff was friendly and welcoming. If you want to stay at a wonderful hotel that you'll never forget, book Sacred House.

Having stayed in Cappadocia on a couple of occasions, we wanted to try somewhere different, exclusive and comfortable. This it certainly was. Service was 1st class, hospitality was excellent (alhough not overwhelming) and in our beatiful room (Anka's Lair - highly recommendable) we were given little treats every day such as roasted chesnuts, wine and strawberries. The bed was also extremely comfy as we have stayed in our fair share of rock hard beds in Turkey. We would advise staying in the smaller rooms, as they have a more cosy feel to them. Breakfast was divine and a twist on your average Turkish breakfast.

You must stay here during your visit to Urgup. This hotel is truly 5-star in every way. The service was amazing, the rooms and common areas gorgeous and decorated with love, and the breakfasts were the best ever. Two months later, my boyfriend and I still say every morning that we wish we could have a Sacred House breakfast! We also ate an out-of-this-world dinner here. Yesim went out of her way to make us comfortable. The Sacred House staff even arranged out bus tickets to the next city for us and sent my coat (which I left in the room by mistake) to me in Istanbul. I cannot gush enough about the Sacred House and about beautiful Urgup. It's so nice to see people who really want to do a great job in every way. Many thanks to Yesim and to all of the Sacred House people, whose names I wish I could remember. They were all fabulous.
