“Hotel located in town centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We were a group of 3 adults and 1 child. Adnan (hotel owner) recommended the Seljuk Suite to us which fit our needs perfectly. It had two separate bedrooms with a shared bathroom. We also had our own private terrace with a hammock. The room was very comfortable, with a king size bed in one room and two twin beds in the other. The only disadvantage was that the room was not equipped with a safe.
Breakfast was hearty with one hot cooked item and other breds, jams, dips and cheeses. The owners were extremely helpful and spent 15 mins with us every morning guiding us where to go and giving us useful tips and driving directions. Since we had rented a car this was very useful and ended up being cheaper than going on a guided tour and also gave us flexibility.the common spaces in the hotel are limited but we did not have the need to use them since we were out exploring Capadoccia.

Thank you your lovely review. The Seljuk Suite was ideal and spacious for your family and the location right next to the town center means everything is at your feet after a long day out in Cappadocia.

You chose a lovely option for traveling around Cappadocia – a driver and vehicle means no driving stress and everyone can appreciate the scenery. We explain both to our guests and the driver the best itinerary – so it is just like a private tour but without the guide. We always do our best to help guests enjoy Cappadocia.

You are the first guests to have wanted a safe in the room and we were more than willing to place your valuables in the office safe.

We are a small hotel, and for our size the common areas are spacious – two roof terraces and an historical balcony, and of course everyone is welcome into the office for a chat at any time! We aim to be a warm and friendly place – we are open with central heating all winter.

The owners of this Hotel could not do enough for us. They organised a great guide, onward bus tickets, sightseeing tours etc - nothing was too much trouble.
The Hotel itself was in a great location with sylish rooms and we had a fantastic roof terrace all to ourselves. The Hotel also offered a cooked breakfast and small buffet. We were able to use the Hotel facilities on the day we departed well past the normal check out time.
This reinforces their genuine desire to please their clients.

A must do in Cappadocia is the hot air balloon ride. I would also recommend a personal guide to see the sites

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom suite which had an ensuite bathroom off one of the bedrooms. This was no issue...

It’s fantastic to hear from you, and thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a great pleasure meeting you and we loved talking with you. Adnan has been in tourism for 25 years and he knows the soul of this business – which certainly makes things easier. I have also been a teacher of tour guides and love to share my knowledge with everyone. Adnan says we make a great team and helping our guests is always a great pleasure for us. Thank you for staying at Cave Konak Hotel. Best wishes from all of us, Colleen and Adnan.

I had booked this hotel through booking.com while planning my trip to Cappadoccia. I was very uncertain about how this place would be since I was traveling in February. The owner Adnan and his wife received us at the gate and were very hospitable. The place was very cozy and warm in the freezing season. The cave hotel has limited rooms like most boutique hotels but is a very interesting experience.

My wife and I missed the city tour as we were late from the Hot air balloon ride the next day, so Adnan offered to take us on a tour around Cappadocia in his car. He is an amazing tour guide and very interesting person.

I would honestly suggest anyone traveling to Cappadoccia to try out this place. You may find many cave hotels which may be equally interesting, but very few Hotels with such great Hosts!!

Hi there! So good to hear from you after so long, and excellent timing for any guests who will be traveling over the following colder months; Hotel Cave Konak is cozy and warm in winter! In fact, being near the town center in Urgup is also an advantage especially in the off-season as guests are close to all facilities and the local restaurants are highly frequented all year.

I’m so pleased you still have wonderful memories of Cappadocia; I thoroughly enjoyed showing you around my beautiful homeland. Hopefully you will be able to come back some day as there is always more to see. Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and kindest regards to your wife. Adnan.

We booked this hotel over the net with a booking agent but had direct communication with the hotel in the lead up to our stay. This was made easy as the hotel owners both have excellent English (one owner is an English woman).

We booked our Cappadoccia tour through the hotel (who were excellent - Euphrates Tours) as well as the airport transfer (an extra charge of €20 as we didn't book the hotel directly though the ownerrs).

We were greeted at the hotel by both owners and one of their family. As always in Turkey, nothing was a hassle and the environment was relaxed.

The room was tastefully decorated and immaculate. It had some of the luxuries you wish at times when traveling - soaps, shampoos, fluffy towels, large shower with modern fittings, crisp linen, tea and coffee in the room etc etc. Breakfast was superb with an array of homemade goodies (although we missed the meal on our last morning due to a 7am pick up). You can also enjoy your vista and surrounds of the town, taking breakfast on the balcony.

The location of this hotel is very good. It is in walking distance to the main shopping / restaurant area. The town itself is very small but has everything you need and a good break from the main tourist areas.

This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in tTrkey, but the atmosphere, hospitality and professionalism was second to none.

Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for highlighting another aspect of our hotel – our home from home relaxed atmosphere. We love to chat and everyone is welcome at any time to the historical balcony, terraces and office. Our aim is to let everyone do what they want both at the hotel and in Cappadocia, and if we can help at all, we love to.

Breakfast is an ideal opportunity for us to show something more about local Turkish culture, so we include various local tastes as well as home made items – glad you enjoyed it.

As for value, during the recent restoration we worked hard to keep the original aesthetic of the rooms, not destroying the perspective by including a shower built into a corner – for this reason our rooms became suites (bedroom and sitting room) and each bathroom was originally a room in itself. In fact our rooms are excellent value for their quality, being at least 33% cheaper than equivalent rooms in other hotels. In addition, our situation in the town center means convenience for guests and removes the need for taxis in the evening.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your time here and wish you many happy travels in the future. We hope you will be able to welcome you again some day – as you know, there is always more to see and do in Cappadocia :)

We only spent a week end there but we had a great time, really lovely rooms, clean, comfortable with lovely shower room. A good breakfast included in the price. The staff are so friendly, they make such a difference. The hotel is right on the edge of the small town of Urgup, which has plenty of places eat and shop. The surrounding area have amazing history and scenery. Lots of quite scenic walks. We will definitely be going back to this Hotel Cave Konak next time we visit the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Ottoman suite, but all the rooms looked great.

Thank you very much for your lovely review of our hotel. We really try to help all our guests with ideas of what to do – for walking there are many different amazing paths to follow, and the beauty changes with the seasons. Being a guide, Adnan is very good at explaining the routes. Our situation right near the town center is also a bonus as it cuts out the need for taxis every evening. We are looking forward to you visiting us again. Best wishes from Colleen, Adnan and all of our staff.

My stay at the Cave Konak hotel could not have been better! The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was also very big, modern, and lovely. The breakfast was delicious and included plently of variety and more than enough to keep us full until lunch while we explored the area.

The hotel staff was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the region, and more than accomodating. They helped us to book a ballon trip before we even got there, and once we were there, they spoke to us at length about how to spend our time in the region based on the length of our stay and our interests. We were advised on many different options and price points, and once we decided, the hotel owners booked drivers and guides for us that were phenomenal!!!

I would definitely stay at the Hotel Cave Konak again and encourage others to do so as well...thanks, Adnan and Colleen (hotel owners) for everything! We had a great stay :-)

Thank you so much – we couldn’t have asked for more from your review! You have explained our lovely rooms and varied and filling breakfast, and more importantly how we love to help others enjoy Cappadocia.

Whether guests want to ‘do it themselves’ or to know travel options, we can always help with lots of information about places to visit and how to get there. We always try to recommend the best quality tours, drivers and guides for all budgets as we know how much difference this makes to the memories that remain forever.

Dear guest, we would like you to feel that there is a small corner of Cappadocia where you will always be welcome and always feel at home. We hope you will be able to visit us again some time. Love from Adnan and Colleen.

The hotel has a great location, just few steps away from the main square where there are many We spent 3 nights at this hotel, tastefully decorated and perfectly clean. It is located in Urgup, which is a smaller town than nearby Goreme, so, more welcoming but well-structured to serve tourists. Our room was the first in the hotel entrance, so we had the view of the hill and the tower of the mosque next door. As the hotel is located in a high place and the city is quiet, there is not much noise even in our room facing the street. And wake up with the morning call of the mosque is part of the experience of being in a Muslim country, you just get used to. restaurants, shops, ATMs, etc… Our “cave” room was very cozy, with nice beds and a huge bathroom downstairs, with two showers with LED lights. Just amazing! The hotel owner, Adnan, gave us many tips of what to do from the first email we sent, when we were just planning our trip to Cappadocia. As he used to be a guide for a long time, he could suggest city tours, drivers, guides and balloon companies, which was very helpful, as he provided all information with lots of details. We opted for the balloon ride and all sightseeing (with private driver and guide) suggested by him and we are sure that we did the right thing! Our driver was so funny and we had a great time! The breakfast on the terrace, buffet style, was simple but delicious, with everything fresh. If you wake up early, you can have breakfast on the terrace watching the balloons in the sky! The hotel staff was great, helpful all the time and always with a smile in the face. They were kind enough to offer blankets to our balloon ride; very useful, since the temperature was about 10 degrees Celsius early morning. Also, when we went to Goreme for a dinner with some Brazilian friends, Adnan took us there in his car (and asked to call on his cell phone to get us back, but since it was late in the evening, we hired a taxi to return to hotel). I heard a lot about Cappadocia, but surely Adnan, Colleen and their efficient staff had a major contribution to Cappadocia surpass all my expectations!
