“A wonderful stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

One thing in life is certain, change. With regards to trskonaklas, going past some old reviews the change was much welcomed.

So how to describe our experience and the new staff at Takonaklar, the little hotel nestled in cappadocia? well, It's like a warm big hug from your mum or a hot chocolate on a winters day. The welcome and service was so warm, so genuine and so happy it was infectious.

We arrive and are treated by name by the lovely Valery (that hasn't happend in a while in my travels) . There is a gentle softness about each word she mutters as she take us to the room and explains the ins and outs. There is no rush and a new pace is much welcomed after our days in Istanbul . for the reminder of the stay, she is there to assist, with everything for a taxi to town, to the best place to eat, or a late checkout.

Our Room 109 was lovely with a private terrace plenty light and space enough for 3 guests. The bathroom was beautiful. It is all a little low. Being almost 6ft, you do have to bend a little. the hotel is original with stellar views, jazz playing in the garden, little lovely local touches everywhere. There was no air con just a fan, but we didn't need it during our stay.

Dinner is made fresh and needs to be preordered the day before , so we are given some recommendations for near by hot spots. Too tiered to make the 2 minute walk, we plonk ourselves in front of the valley with a bottle of wine. It is at this moment we meet the true delight of the hotel Ilyas . Zooming around guests, he is the embodiment of sunshine in a human. Smiling, helpful, taking photos from all the right angles, topping up drinks, fetching blankets and arranging the tables to look just right almost all unprompted. Ever details is thought of , with a beaming smile, my mum and i gush: Wow This is service, we never want leave.

We mentioned we are peckish but have no energy to make the walk, and enquier about snacks in 10 minutes a feast arrives from nowhere. Fresh cheese, cucumbers, olives tomatoes, amazing stuffed peppers and fried cauliflower with a delicious dipping sauce (we later discover only 13 euro was charged for our perfect banquet) . Our glass is never empty and Ilya never too far.

I won't bore you with the rest of the stay, as each day seemed a delight . We did see some rooms in the hotel that looked a little dark . So Do ask for a room that gets the beautiful sun. Do wake up early to see the balloons. Do have the wine overlooking the valley and watch the sunset and what ever you do Don't look at some of the old reviews. Change is here at Taskonaklar book it!

Room Tip: Some rooms appeared dark due to the obvious cave element . So just check upon booking.

The hotel is excellent. Very good location in the best town of Cappadocia to stay, cleaned and beautiful rooms, excellent full breakfast, very good restaurant, nice view to the valey, helpfull and very polite staff. I fully recommend the hotel. It was a very nice experiance staying in a traditional Cappadocia house, completelly refurbished but with the original atmosphere. I fully recomend the hotel!

Room Tip: Ask at the front guest for the best choices of things to do, as ballon flight, bikes to rent, Quadri...

Uchisar village is like living history and fairy land & Taskonaklar was the perfect hotel. I wasn't suprised to learn it was created by an ex Minister for Turkish tourism! Rooms are beautiful in decor and in their restoration of a fairy chimney (cave) but the garden and dining area is spectacular as it looks over Pigeon Valley & Goreme. Thanks for recommendation on Urgup hot air balloons too :)

I truly believe that this is one of the best hotels Capadocia. We stayed a total of 6 nights (far more than the norm) and had excellent service and hospitality. The rooms where so beautiful. Afternoon tea on the terrace was heavenly. It was a great location to go from Kayseri to the Tuz Gulu, and to the Ilhara Valley and dinner at Goreme. Breakfast was a treat every day. I highly recommend it!

We booked 2 nights (3 full days) here through a broader, luxury package we booked for Cappadocia. There were 11 of us and we had 4 rooms.

Overall, the rooms were quite comfortable, clean and spacious. The water pressure (and temperature) was great (which matter after a few long, hot days walking) The Family suite (110) was great for a family of 4 and had plenty of space. Room 102 was used by one couple and it was a massive room for 2 people, complete with a nice balcony. I'd avoid room 111 based on it's location, it seems really well tucked away.

Breakfast was included and was fine. No complaints. We didn't eat dinner at the property because you need to tell them in advance so they can buy the food. We decided to go to a restaurant nearby and had great meals there. To be clear, there were two - we were at the one on the right, without the funky chairs in the grass.

The wifi was helpful and the staff was friendly. We also got to see the balloons ride by (n=30-40) on our second day there.

I'm not sure where else you could stay in Cappadocia, but if I go back. This is where I'm staying.

Room Tip: 110 and 102 were both good. Avoid 111.

An excellent hotel with magnificent view and very spacious, comfortable room together with tasty facilities. The reception is very friendly and helpful who provided us with whatever information and assistance we needed. The breakfast is very fresh and well prepared. We had a wonderful stay in that hotel. We could not find a better place to stay than Taskonaklar Boutique hotel.

"Taskonaklar Boutique Hotel" is one of the surprises for me in Turkey! The adornment of the exotic, fantistic view, comfortable bedroom and bathroom, and the warmly service! It make me feel like at home. I will come to live her again.
