“An amazing hotel and experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

I have traveled all over the world and this small boutique hotel is one of my favorites. The accommodations are wonderful, warm and comfortable, especially the family suites, rooms 110 and 111. The owner and all of the staff, from the very accommodating night manager to the amazing cook ( make sure you have dinner at the hotel and try the home made apricot jam) to the always smiling waiter- everyone was just great. Be sure to try the Hamam- a fun experience and a way to get toasty on cold nights. The view is fantastic and you can never get lost since you are at the highest pint in the area. Definitely do not miss!

If you are going to Capadoccia, look no further. This hotel is hotel is unreal.
Yes, cave hotel is a novelty in itself, but this hotel is at the highest point in Capadoccia.
The view from every room in the hotel is breath taking.

I provide as much information as I can, about owners, locations, rooms and the service.

Owner, Abdullah Gunney is a gentleman. Perfect service, and the way he is designed his office clearly shows that he is tasteful and likes to build things in a way that others can only dream off.

Location, this is in Uchisar. The hotel at the Uchisar Castle which is the highest point in Capadocia. The views are breath taking. From fairy chimneys to pigeon valleys to Argeus mountain, you can see it all from Kale Konak.
With the Mosque's minarets in the front and breath taking valleys behind, you feel as if you are transported to another planet. It takes about an hour drive and 50 turkish Liras via cab from Kayseri Airport to Uchisar. If several customers are being dropped off, then it could take longer.

Rooms: All I can say is, this hotel delivers. We stayed in the Cale Suite and it was a home out of fairy tale.
We had a two rooms, two entrances, beautiful arches inside the room and loft for an extra bed.
One entrance was to enter from the front, and the other one opened up inside the hotel for easy access to Turkish bath or the owners office.

Service: Breakfast was fantastic. Unlimited fresh fruit juices. The spread was very well laid out. The cooks were prompt and ready to refill your plate or glass even before asking.
Very hospitable and fantastic staff.

Activities: The hotel dinning is a little pricey and the room rates may also be pricey compared to the other hotels. But when you see the hotel, you will agree upon the price.
Since we were on a budget, we decided to shop for companies that do daily tours rather than the ones recommended by the hotel to save costs. We are very pleased with this decision and recommend the same to other travellers as well. We went with HTRTurkey tours and we strongly recommend them to others as well. The hotel covered our breakfast, HTR covered lunches and dinners we went and ate outside the hotel. So we got a good variety of choices.

Bottom line, this is truly a fantastic hotel!!! Attaching a few photos from the hotel!! enjoy.

Thank you Abdullah for a fanstastic experience.

Room Tip: Every room is unique and tasteful. I would recommend paying more and going for the suite. It was fan...

You keep hearing about cave hotels in cappadocia, but this one in particular is just amazing. Abdullah had organised everything for us - right from airport pick up & drop to the hot air balloon ride to finding us a taxi to cover Cappadocia. Our room was really good and very spacious. It truly gave a cave like feeling. The hotel has a nice hammam which is free. They had also arranged for dinner for one of our nights which was also great. The only problem we faced was that it was very close to a mosque, so it was a bit noisy at times but we didn't really mind it.
Uchisar is much quieter than other towns in Cappadocia but we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Samanlik - amazing deluxe room at a great price

The hotel is charming, unique and very romantic. Our room #5, was a cave room, actually a suite, with a bathroom down the stairs and around the corner, but still part of the room. The lighting was very romantic, and the room was furnished with a canopy over the bed, which acts in part to prevent the ceiling dust from dropping onto the bed. My husband's side got a little gritty, but my side was fine. The bathroom had a great shower and the whole room was very spacious. The breakfast is huge an delicious, and they prepared it late for us on the day that we did our hot air balloon ride (highly recommended) and very early to accommodate our departure for the airport. The fresh squeezed OJ was amazing!
They have a gorgeous haman that is free of charge for guests. I never got to use it to my great regret.
Stay here.... you will love it!

Room Tip: I didn't see the rest of the rooms, but #5 is gorgeous!

My wife and I stayed at the Kale Konak for a week at the end of September, beginning of October 2013,
The weather was perfect at this time, a little later and it would start to get a bit cold. This hotel is superbly positioned at the base of Uchisr castle with excellent views, Uchisar itself is the highest town in the region any many think als the nicest, we think so too.We stayed in a stone vaulted room and also in a cave suite, both rooms were spacious, stylishly decorated, fully equiped and functional, very pleasing. The hotel manager, Abdullah, and all of his staff were excellent, spoke good English and couldn't do enough to help in any way. The hotel breakfasts were delicious and classy, the internet worked well. Free use of the superb in house marble hamam was yet another bonus, Can't ask for much more!

Room Tip: Many great restaurants close, Try Sira, formal, great views, and Uchisar Sofrasi, more casual, famil...

We (2 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed for 7 nights in the family suite at Kale Konak.

We came to Cappadocia to have an adventure week with hiking, riding balloons, and exploring caves. The hotel arranged pick up at Kayseri airport. First impression of the hotel was perfect, we were taken down to our room in a cave right next to the Turkish bath. The kids loved it! The rooms were super quiet, all rooms are spread out within the hotel with very thick stone walls between. We never heard any noise at all in our room - we could not even hear the early morning prayers from the Minarets!

Every morning we were greeted by the friendly staff, with a nice home made breakfast. The breakfast is served with a fantastic view of the landscape. Abdullah and his crew were extremely helpful with advice and bookings of trips, suggestions for hikes, etc. He helped with reservations before we arrived, and to make additional ones once we came there and realized what we wanted to do and see.

Every night after our adventures, we spend an hour in the Turkish bath at the hotel to recover. The hotel is located very centrally in Uchisar, right next to the castle and a short walk (5 min) to the town center.

We highly recommend Cappadocia as an excellent place for adventures, Uchisar is a nice town, a little quieter than Göreme (a short taxi ride away), and Kale Konak is a fantastic hotel both for families and couples.

We stayed at the Kale Konak Cave Hotel in Uchisar for 2 nights while visiting Cappadocia. What a wonderful experience! The staff is so friendly. We even ran into the hotel night manager while in town and he introduced us to his wife, and made us feel like old friends. The views are magnificent from the terrace where we ate breakfast. The food was traditional Turkish. Fresh, tasty and there was plenty of it. The dinner was a little pricey but this hotel had so much to offer, the whole experience was really a bargain. We paid around $140 per night, and for this we received plenty of attention, breakfasts, a very comfortable room in an elegant old building/cave, superlative views. At night it was so quiet it was like we were the only people in the whole town.

Uchisar is very small with not much happening but that made it all the better. One day we hiked to Goreme, which takes about an hour, and caught a Dolmus back to Uchisar for only 2 1/2 lira. So don't let the smallness of the town affect your decision to stay at the Kale Konak. It was great & we thank the staff for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room 2 was quiet and comfortable.
