I read in several tour books, that this was the valley to hike. We took a taxi who tools us to the top, through a gate where we paid 2-3 lira per person. My husband didn't go due to his knee problem, so I hiked alone. At first it was scary because there were no people, I began to have a montage of horror films in my head. Then I became absorb in watch where I was going because the trail went from steep and rugged, to more of a wash trail that was extremely steep. No grandparents, small kids, or handicapped folks here. Soon the landscape opened up to this lovely valley with Star Wars like looking cave structures. I read in a magazine and few tour books they filmed here and in Tunisia. The rocks look like the "painted desert" rocks we have in northern Arizona. Finally I stopped at this sweet little bar n restaurant where there were finally people! Very picturesque. Apparently there is a gentler way to reach this valley, I learned from others. The restaurant owner, I assume, said he can drive up to the last 200 feet to his establishment. So my hubby could have seen this pretty place, argh! So if I were to hike here again, I am NOT going to use the scary trail at the top again.
