“amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

To take a walk between these strange forms sculpted by nature send you in a different world. Is a very special experience and a lot of new, unexpected images at each step which are surprising you. All you need is big, big eyes to be able to see as much as possible...We understood from our guide that the landscape is in a continuous change due to the weather but the amazing part remains the same. I think that Goreme National Park is really a must see in Anatolia.

“Amazing Open Air Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

This is a fabulous series of rock formations and now designated a UNESCO World heritage site. Quite simply put there really is no other place like this series of volcanic formations with many of them carved out as churches or dwellings during the Roman period. The town of Cappadocia is located among these fairy rock chimneys. Christianity was the prevailing religion in the region during Roman times and it is possible to tour through many of these carve- outs, if time allows. There is so much to see and everywhere you look you can feast your eyes and camera on another new formation or cave architecture. One of the most fascinating landscapes we have in this part of the Anatolian Plateau.

“It's like being in another world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Goreme National Park is like stepping into another world. Fairy chimneys are everywhere and spout out of the landscape like mushrooms. The earth is white in places which makes it look sandy, but it's hard rock. Our guide took us to "Love Valley", named for the phallic look of the fairy chimneys (or so he explained). You can walk the trails below or view them from above. We had a rental car so were able to get off the beaten track, away from the tourists. There was no fee to see the park - we just drove right in. Highly recommend it and make sure your battery is charged on your camera, as you'll want to take lots of pictures!

“A must when around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Goreme is a very beautiful village. Do stay for a few days so you can take in the colours and views. You need to take your time. Do visit the open air museum and take a walk in the pigeon valley, rose valley and love valley. Wonderful piece of nature!

“Extraordinary place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

What amazing scenery! This is so worth a visit and it is only a short walk form the centre of Goreme. At this time of year it was fairly quiet. Sensible walking footwear recommended. Great value for money.
