“Stay here--you won't find a nicer hotel or better deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2009

What's not to love? We stayed in the boutique section, in suite #6, with huge soaking tube and heated floor in the vast marble bath (also shower), fresh towels and terry robes every day, fireplace, sitting room, satellite flat screen TV, comfortable bed,. The breakfast is the best we had in Turkey (do take them up on their offer of a cheese and tomato omelette), the people very nice, the lounge with computer and free wi-fi and free tea at all times so pleasant that we had to remind ourselves of all the great things to do outside the hotel. Mustafa gave us great advice about getting from Cappadocia to the Hittite cities, and those who went on his tours found him extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant was fine for supper, and the Orient Restaurant, recommended at the hotel, is first class and a short drive or walk away. We would go back in a New York minute.

I am still at the hotel and love it! My rate was 44 euros cash and the experience is unique and fantastic. I did over 30 hours of research on Cappadocia, especially hotels, and finally settled on this...and I was not disappointed. I love the staff (extremely friendly and helpful) and the room was very nice. Views were fantastic! The day tour they conduct is TOTALLY worth it. Left at 9:30 am and came back at 6 pm after seeing almost all of Cappadocia, with a great lunch in a nice cave restaurant (not a typical tourist lunch) This was all for 30 euros. The breakfast was superb with many many choices. The dried fruit from Cappadocia (especially the organic brown apricots) are superb. The only one negative thing would be that the pictures makes the whole hotel/pension look better than it really is, but it was still nice.

We stayed in the Pension (Room #12) and found it to be a great value. The room price per night was approximately $45USD and included a buffet breakfast. The bathroom was updated and very nice and the experience of staying in a cave couldn't be beat! The hotel is about 5 minutes from town up a hill, so it might be difficult for some to navigate. But this made for some amazing views from the deck.

The staff were very friendly and having Heritage travel onsite was convenient. I would definitely recommend the Haman as it was a really different experience if you are used to normal spas. Very relaxing...

The only issue we had with the hotel was the noise level. You could hear everything throguh the walls in the room, so it might be a problem for light sleepers. But overall, this is a great choice as a base in Cappadocia.

We stayed in this Hotel last November 2008,

Best thing I can say is: Amazing.

Location's perfect. In the very center of Cappadokya, near whatever you'd like to visit around (obviously by car).
Hotel has a beauty itself. People is very friendly, breakfast great, our room was lovely and if you like they can take care of your tours (they've got kinda travel agency)....
Having dinner in their "restaurant" is a clever idea if you've got problems with turkish cuisine (your stomach will feel safer!!!)

Only thing I may say could improve is turkish bath. They've got a great turkish bath in Hotel's underground, it's amazing, beautiful and lovely, but we paid for a massage and to be able to stayed around for a while. Girl did the massage to me (I finish so relaxed) but she didn't let us stay in the Turkish bath, so we paid for a service we didn't get
My advice: Don't hesitage to ask properly if you wanna go Turkish Bath to the staff

Anyway, if you're going to Cappadokya, don't miss this Hotel

I booked this hotel thought the Heritage Travel agency. This agency is located in the lobby of the hotel. This agency booked our day tours as well as our room. They were exceptionally responsive to all the questions I had.

The hotel was excellent, the room comfortable and the bathroom nice. It took a bit to get warm water but once it was there, there was plenty of it. Because the hotel was reasonable, we were able upgrade to a junior suite, we had a cute sitting area in our room.

The breakfast was good and plentiful and the service good. We did not have dinner there so I do not know how it was.

The hotel was situated on a hill that was a bit of a climb from the town. This did not prove to be an issue for us. The town is no more than a 5 minute walk.

The Heritage Travel agency has its own tours, although they are a tiny bit more expensive, the tours are worth it as it is has fewer people to each tour.

To get a better rate in everything, I recommend that you pay with cash.

We stayed at the Kelebek for 2 nights in Dec 2008 and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for my friend and I. The views were gorgeous and they also had this great hamman within the hotel that was operated by a nice couple. The rooms were nice and cosy with its own fireplace. Ideal for honeymooners in the winter. Staff were especially friendly. Kudos to Unal and Yassin especially for making us feel very welcome. We would love to fly back to Cappadocia to enjoy their wonderful hospitality all over again!

After seeing reviews on TA, I booked 2 rooms, #7 and #13.
# 7 was cute and good size room for 2 people. # 13 was great room with a fire place and seating area. It's cozy and romantic room but only problem was it was very cold out side and the rooms' window and door has lots of air holes which let cold air in. We tried to keep the room warm by putting the blankets and pillows on the window and under the door but the room never got comfortable for me( I don't handle cold well). We did however light the fire place which helped until we got ready to go to sleep and the fire started to die room filled up with smoke we had to open the door to air out the smoke making the room cold again, lol If weather was good, this room would be ideal for anyone.
Breakfast was great and they even make you an omelet if you want!
We went out to dinners in Goreme which was just 10 min. walk from rear entrance. We walked to Orient Restaurant in 15 min. in the snow and had the best steak for about 10 euros. :)
We went on their History tour with Ali which was wonderful and he even sang for us on the bus. I'm going back as soon as I can!!

  • Liked — View and charm of the hotel
  • Disliked — Room did not get warm enough in extreme due to air holes of windows and door.
