“Trip of a Lifetime - Full of Surprises and Delights!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

There are no WORDS to describe how enchanting, magical, splendid and perfect our 4 nights were in Goreme at Bora Ozkuk's Cappadocia Cave Suites. Bora - the owner and longtime childhood friend of my family, organized our tour, our rooms, visits to gorgeous hidden geological spots and local ceramicists, artisans, whirling dervishes, cooking classes and carpet weavers, and most importantly - an unforgettable surprise birthday for me - which started with a dazzling Hot Air Balloon ride at sunrise, an impeccable breakfast with all the colors of the rainbow on our plates, omelettes to order with my favorite 'sucuk' and 'pastirma', continuing on to a day's exploration through parts of the valley that only a true local would be able to take you to, and an evening of cocktails overlooking the sunset, with one of my most memorable meals in Turkey (lamb stew over eggplant puree), and the chefs bringing out a homemade 'secret' recipe Birthday cake with my name and candles!

I shared a room with my sister, and my family and a dozen friends had rooms nearby. I was convinced my room was the best - one of the highest cave rooms, balcony and picturesque patio view, until I looked at all our friends' rooms and realized, every single room is equally fabulous and beautifully original. It was comfortable, quiet and tranquil at night, and we awoke to hot air balloons flying right above us in plain sight. If you could have ever asked for 'balloons' for your birthday, this was truly a special experience, balloons galore.

Our stay was altogether adventurous, outdoorsy, and relaxing; luxurious with our jacuzzi and bountiful with the freshest homemade food. The staff was adorable, 100% caring and respectful, and exemplifies the great Turkish hospitality you hear of. The neighborhood is the best block you could be in, the highest point for views 360 degrees, a 5min walk from the apex lookout point where we watched the full moon rise at night, and a 5 minute walk down the hill to the town, transportation and shops. We never set foot in a restaurant in Goreme, all our meals was a taste of home and a million choices to choose from (I'm mostly a vegetable eater, and indulged in the apricots, peaches, plums, cherries, berries every morning!)

I'm planning to come back with a group of friends/colleagues. It's an idyllic romantic getaway. If it's any testament, I went up in the Hot Air Balloon not once but TWICE on separate days :) No matter the political situation and minor protests in Istanbul at the time (May/June 2013), Turkey is 100% travel-able, safe and sound. I've already referred 6 of friends to Cappadocia Cave Suites and they had a fabulous time. There is no better way to experience Turkey!!

Room Tip: 302 and adored every second in it!

Every aspect of our 3 night stay was wonderful. We enjoyed the great view from our room and dining area and woke up early to enjoy the view from our patio and watch the sky full of hot air balloons. We ate delicious healthy meals -- with no extra charge for fresh orange juice or made to order omelets. Our room was large and nicely decorated and included a refrigerator, tea and coffee maker. We laundry service was superb; the rates were good and we were delighted with their service. Staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. The driving staff were reliable and punctual when transporting us from place to place. We participated in a fun, memorable cooking class. We would love to return!

Goreme is a perfect town for your base in touring Cappadocia and the Cave suites provided a lovely home for several days. The room was beautifully decorated with local artisan crafts and the room was quite comfortable and spacious. Not all rooms are in caves so specify that request if that is a desire. There is no AC but the temperature at night usually drops so that is not necessary. The rooms are comfortable but if you are intending to have someone sleep on the sofa/bed you may want to consider another option for the sake of comfort. Overall, the hotel setting is spectacular and the staff is quite helpful and accommodating.

Room Tip: Make sure to specify your desire to be in a cave room versus a room that is designed in a cave style...

Whilst the idea of staying in a cave sounded appealing even with modern amenities there was no romance. It want for us.

The town itself is harsh with many locals looking to make a buck unscrupulously, perhaps the surrounds have influenced them.

We did not enjoy this visit perhaps you may.

It is a pity that this person failed to see the magic of Cappadocia as millions have before him. We guess that all folks can't be made happy all the time. Glass is always half empty.
Nevertheless his failing to see the beauty in Cappadocia should not have effected this evaluation of our hotel as 3 stars. Our world revered hotel deserves better then that.

a beautiful, quant little hotel on top of a hill with a view among the fairy chimney rock formations.
Its peaceful and very friendly people serving a wonderful breakfast on the terrace.

The rooms are spacious and beautiful restored. We could make our own coffee and tea. We had our own wine which they kept chilled so that we could have a drink on the terrace after a full day tour.
Everything is in walking distance. I have no hesitation in recommending this charming hotel.

Room Tip: on top of the terrace

The hotel arranged paid pick up from Kayseri airport which was very comfortable for a nominal 20 TL each. As we reached, we were very happy to see that the hotel had surpassed our expectations and the staff was very helpful. I had exchanged some of my doubts on email with Mr. Ecran before booking and arrival. There is less/no public transportation in Cappadocia and we didnt want to join a tour and wanted to explore on our. The hotel helped us with a car rental coordination with Sixt which gladly came over to drop the car to the hotel. The reception desk was helpful in providing sight seeing suggestions, making bookings for Belly dancing and Whirling Dervishes show. The big guy (sorry to forget your name) in the night shift was super co-operative.The breakfast was good with nice vegetarian selection for both of us. The room we had chosen was a Fairy Chimney Suite which was in the lower section of the property and had little ventilation but made up with the space and the private Jacuzzi in our bathroom, with sofa set and large LCD TV and wi-fi router with in room tea and coffee sachets and kettle provided. We had one of the best stays of our honeymoon at CCS!! Totally recommended for anyone and everyone!!

Room Tip: Fairy chimney suites for cave style stay!
