We were picked up at the crack of dawn and driven to a small sight for tea, coffee and biscuits to wake us up before our flight. We were then transferred to the flight site and were given a balloon with an English speaking pilot (Emre Ozturk) who was great and a brilliant pilot. It was a bit chaotic to start, but with around 60 - 100 balloons taking off at the same time, it is to be expected. We were taken up to high altitude but also spent a fair bit of time lower, which was better as it gave us the chance to be up close with the chimneys and cave houses. The pilot seemed to take us within touching distance of some of the famous landmarks whilst never making us feel in danger once, you can tell they do it day in day out. It is so peaceful and utterly breathtaking flying through the rock formations and over the cave houses especially during sunrise. Our Pilot managed to land the balloon on to the trailer at the end, and we were treated local sparkling wine.
Expensive yes, but its once in a life time and well worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
