“Good people to stay with.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

Going to Goreme in Cappadocia was itself a different experience. Cavelife Pension was no different. On hearing that we have reached Bus Station , the owner cam down hill to pick us in his car.It was very nice of him. Room in the cave gave different feel. Rooms were clean and well kept. Hotel is well located and gives wonderful view in the mornings for the hot air balloons.Breakfast is reasonably good and hotel staff is very helpful. Internet is free. Only problem we faced was power cut for few hours and restricted water supply in Goreme. Will stay again.

Delicious breakfast, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a beautiful
Location. The terrace had an amazing view overlooking the town.

We stayed at the hostel for one night. There were 3 of us in the cave room.

Hostel: The location is far away from everthing. It's about a 2 mins walk down to the city center, and 30 min walk to the Museum. The elevation is quite high up and overlooks Goreme. It's nice views but you may just walk up streets to get views. Don't make this a primary reason to stay here. There is a hiking trail about 2 mins from here. The walk back up the steep hills are quite a workout. Wifi was a hit or miss. Nothing inside rooms (cave issue), at common area very hit-or-miss. Upstairs near kitchen you get it all. Lobby was poor signal too.

Room: It was a 3 bed room. Single beds all around. Clean sheets. Bathroom was clean for the most part. We went end of Oct and it was freezing at night. No jokes. Issue one: Heaters come on at 10pm and turn off automatically sometime overnight. So from sundown at 6p to 10p it's whatever temp it is. You're out of luck! Outrageous! Issue two: No hot water. We confronted them in the morning and the excuse was they forgot to turn on some switch. Didn't make sense to us. No Hot water for showers, while it is 2 Degrees Celcius outside. We washed our faces in the morning with freezing cold water.

Staff: Overall they were friendly and helpful. The 2 issues were the downsides. They did organize tours through their own 'fav' company after Nomad cancelled on us.

Breakfast: There were a lot of dishes set outside on a table while it's 2 degrees. There was cheese, coffee, tea, eggs, butter, bread (now solid hard and cold), and jam.

Overall it's an OK place to stay for the short time. Check out other places too and don't base your judgement based solely on the high location.

Room Tip: Bring Converter for your devices to charge. Also if it's cold bundle up with extra clothes, heat...

The cave was ok but could have used some effort with decor. There was a huge spider above the bed. There was a staff member who was very rude to me when I asked for help. I would only go back here for the price and breakfast that was pretty good.

Was very Glad to go to Cave Life Pension, first of all, very clean and has nice view on all Goreme. The people there speak english fluently, very firendly and very kind also.
Rooms are big, confortable and typical with special design of Cappadocia.
1 min from sun (set/rise). Good breakfast (selfservice) and finally, good price for all this :)
