“Great spa, great rooftop terrace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

I was with a conference at this hotel. This is a lovely hotel, but not right in the historic part of town. Its on a busy highway, but next to a nice park with inexpensive restaurants in it. You can easily take the metro into the historic area, but taxis are so cheap, just take them.
The room was large and nice, with a nice bathroom. The windows are well sound proofed, so there isn't traffic noise. We loved the rooftop bar/ pool area. Great view of the town. But the hidden gem is the great spa in the basement!!! There are two types of saunas, a marvelous pool with natural spring mineral water that makes you float--it was like hypnotic. THEN you must have a Turkish bath, on the huge marble traditional bath table. I only regret never having one before. They scrub your skin to a glow, then bathe you in bubbles, massage you, then pour warm water over you--a dream experience.
The breakfast buffet is to die for. It was included in our price--don't miss it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the park have a nicer view.

After one day in Istambul we headed to Bursa as the next step in our tour through Turkey. Bursa is a small town in your way to Troy and expert in silk/cotton pashmina and glazed tiles.

The Hotel is out of town, in the middle of nothing, just beside the road that takes to Troy. Some steps forward there is a tunnel that crosses the road and drives you to the local market, a mall and some local street bars.

Rooms

We had a two beds room, spacious enough and a bit old fashioned in style.

The bed was ok, hard and unbalanced choice of pillows: one extremely low and two too high. The duvet was too small to cover the whole mattress.

Initially we were offered a room in front of the elevators, we asked something quieter and the change was a room neighbouring the general aircon installation. As it was late and we were staying just one night we didn't complain again, truth to say that either the shutters were very effective or we were tired enough as to fall sleep rapidly.

The bathroom was quite small considering the size of the room and clean. Amenities satisfy the local taste, my wife used the body lotion and the odour remained until the next morning (too much, believe me).

When we arrived to the room the towels were newly washed and wet, we asked for a change and they did it quickly.

Lobby and other facilities

Standard, no news about the rest except a nice terrace on top of the building where dinning is available next to the swimming pool. The terrace transforms at night into an open air relax lounge where having a drink with a night view to the town is really nice.

Food and Drink

The offer is buffet (as in every place in Turkey), well prepared and enough choices without luxury. The most demanded was pasta, that they prepared sautéed in butter. Fruit variety (very nice peaches) but no,natural yoghourt.

And, in summary, too many things to improve for a 5 star hotel, in our opinion it should be a low 4 star.

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing us during your trip to Bursa.

Your comments and critics are valuable to us and your feedback is forwarded to the related department.

In regards to your feedback, we would like to inform you about some matters;

* When our guests ask for another pillow apart from those included in the pillow menu in their room and for an additional duvet, we happily offer them this service.
* In our room standards, the dimensions of the beds and duvets are proportional.
* Room changes are available according with the occupancy rate of the hotel.
* Natural yoghurt is included in our breakfast buffet.

We hope to welcome you soon again.

This hotel is all about location. Good location, but this does not justify the high rates. It is on the expensive side. The rooms are not too bad although they lack the details expected from a 5 star accommodation. Services are not close to what you expect from a 5 star hotel. I had to call the reception many times just to be able to connect to the net. Net is very very weak. Full buffet breakfast had good selection. Also the quality of food was pretty good. Check-in and check-out processes were easy and fast
On the bad side
Internet was terrible,
Lacks good, professional, customer care.

It seems that on our tour through Turkey, the air conditioning is the key. Turkey must not be used to the air conditioning the way American's are. Took awhile for the room to cool off [again, you need your key to 'activate' the power], nothing was cold in the mini-bar. However, once again, the hotel was very clean, and spacious. Staff tries to be helpful through the language barrier.

A very comfortable hotel with good sleeping accommodations. Had a basement hot pool of unfiltered hot springs water that was about 35 deg. C.. 1.5.meters deep, and nice swimming (if you don't mind the unfiltered "floaters" in the water). Restaurant food was good with good selection. Wifi worked well.

What can i say!!!?

A hotel in the middle of city centre of a touristic attraction that its staff can not speak proper English!!! You can not imagine the number of calls or visits i made to the receiption just to explain to them i need a copy of my hotel voucher!!!

My room!! The lovely 631 room ( which i will never forget ) the room that my wife and i are calling the sewage room!!! Yes! Don't get surprised, the toilet is smelling like sewage all the time!!! Even you wake up on the smell every morning!! Is it a drainage problem? is it the toilet itself? Only God knows!!!

I spent 2 nights there with my wife and todler and i can tell you, never ever again!!!!!

Room Tip: Check the toilet first!!!!
