“Fantastic Hotel !!!! Go and stay there ASAP!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2009

Where do I begin? At first when we've arrived they prepared us one the best room with sea and jungle view , it was just like a surprise for our honey moon!
We spent 5nights and 6 days there in it was the best vacation and trip I have ever had.
A La Cart restaurant, major restaurant, with nice and fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. very nice snack bars plus nice beverages which make you energic to swim amd enjoy 4 nice pools ( 3 outdoor and 1 indoor ) .
Nice place and very clean , very kind and professional staffs which are realy eager to do something for your enjoy.
And .... yes ! there are 3 discos for night dancing and enjoy! actually it is an Ultra All Inclusive hotel so you cand drink and eat and do anything anytime !(24hrs)
In summary It was great to stay there and I would go never but SeaLight Hotel , if I travelled to kusadasi again.

Dont forget to try and test the nice ice creme and cakes , just upstairs of the reception!

Just got back this morning (27th Aug) from the Sealight Resort in Kusadasi, Turkey - so I thought I'd " strike whilst the iron is hot " and write my review whilst everything is still fresh in my mind.....

You may read some fairly mixed reviews about this hotel - we did, so we went with an open mind. It was a little disconcerting when we arrived in Turkey to find that we were the only people on our transfer coach to be going to the Sealight and we were last off the coach. We were really wondering what we'd let ourselves in for, but were reassured by the Thomas Cook Rep who told us we'd picked probably the best hotel in the Kusadasi area..... We were not dissappointed..

Even though we arrived at the ungodly hour of 05:30 am we were greeted really warmly by both the reception staff and the really helpful night porter who gave us a whistle stop tour whilst taking us and our luggage to our room. We were offered food and drinks / room service etc., but to be honest - at that point all we wanted was sleep ! The room was excellent - a huge triple with a view of the pool and the sea. and there were loads of little touches like bathroom toiletries - and not just the usual shampoo and bath foam, but coton wool, cotton buds, emery board etc. etc.. There was a really good hairdryer - so you don't need to take your own, plenty of hangers, (but we still took extra) and the room safe and mini bar are free. Flat screen TV is a nice touch as were the loads of soft cushions on the beds and the easy chair. And - you even get duvets just in case it gets a little chilly ! The only criticism about the room is that the beds are hard and there's no getting away from it. There is maid service every day with fresh towels etc. and you couldn't fault it.

All the public facilities are of a really high standard and the whole place is immaculate. Food is of a really good standard and plentiful. I was a bit dissappointed at the lack of really good seafood in the buffet restuarant, but that's personal choice. There was a good range of everything to suit all tastes and the service was good., It's nice to have your drinks served to you - saves on trips backwards and forwards and is just a nice touch for a change in AI. Only issue re the main restaurant was some of the Russians and Iranians, who for some reason, think they don't have to queue and take huge portions of everything - but that's not the hotel's fault... Oh - breakfast is probablyt a little weak and could be improved ...and be warned - for some reason the fresh juice isn't covered by the AI banner (?) - don't understand that one.

All the staff are really friendly and helpful and treat the British really well as we treat them nicely with courtesy and appreciation - unlike some of the other foreign guests...... Generally, they speak good English as well.

Pool area is really good and meticulously kept. They also keep to the 08:00 rule re sunbeds, which is good. The longers on the sunny side of the pool get taken up quickly, but you can get beds on the shady side up to about 11:00 which is nice - Unfortunately though, you don't get the sun there though until after 13:00.... Pool bar is good and they do quite good snacks as well if you want a break from the main buffet. Slide Pool is a bit limited with just 3 slides, but keeps the younger ones occupied if they want a change from the main pool or the sea.

Beach is small , but OK and loads of beds along the different teraces and again a good beach / snack bar. All the usual watersports etc. - normal prices. If you don't want to walk up and down to the beach, the shuttle is a nice and welcome touch. Sunsets are lovely !

Daytime activity programme is good and the Animation Team work really hard, but there's no pressure to join in if you just want to relax. Most energetic I got was the daily Aquagym sessions which were good fun and made me feel less guilty about all the food and drink that was going into my body at a terrific rate......

Lounge area was great and comfy and a great drinks service ranging from the usual range of coffees etc. to branded drinks and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails and it was nice and relaxing to have live classical music in there before dinner whilst sipping a pre-dinner cocktail or two... or three ....

Evening entertainment is where I would say this hotel could do better. The Animation Team work really hard - but they are not professional after all and it does show. We have had much better quality shows at other hotels. The acts at the Pool Bar were also a bit repetitive and a bit lof over kill on the " lounge / elevator type " music - though there was a guitarist and sax player who were really good. So, "people watching " was our main entertainment......

One of my favourite places in the hotel was the patisserie (covered by all inclusive as well) where they were open from 12:00 noon to 21:00 and served the most gorgeous cakes and pastries and ice cream - you just couldn't fault it and you could try as many different types as you wanted.

You could also borrow laptops in the lounge if required for 30 mins a time - but internet connection is not always good. Games room is good and so is the Spa and Gym if you are that way inclined and the indoor pool makes a welcome change if you want to escape the heat and the sun for a while.

The 4 A la Carte Restaurants are good and worth a visit. I would say the Fish is the weakest, but still OK and the Turkish and Chinese are really good, with the Italian close behind. I would suggest booking 2 at a time or all 4 in advance if they'll let you....You are allowed 2 per week.

We had a great holiday and I would definitely recommend the Sealight if you want something just that bit nicer than your usual 4 star - with a good mix of luxury and relaxation and plenty of acitvities if you want them.

Downsides ????
a) Not enough British for some reason and far too many from Belarus and for some odd reason Iran....
b) Week evening shows
c) Hard beds.
Upsides ??? - absolutely everythng else !!!!!! We had a great time and I would encourage you to give it a try - it's worth it !!

After arriving in Turkey and only finding out on the bus that our hotel had been changed from Palm Wing Beach to Sealight, we felt really upset. We'd been to Turkey before and did not know what to expect as 5 stars could be anything there. After our first day at Sealight we were really impressed and satified, the food was great, the pool, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The animation team were the best!!! Overal very satisfied!!! Only downside is that the walls are quite thin and we had loud russians next door...

We have just returned from an excellent 15 nights at the Sea Light Resort Hotel. Booked independently we used Turkish Airlines from LHR via Istambul to Ismir. This worked well and the airline were really good ( including a hot meal on the first leg and a cold sandwich meal on the second leg). I booked the airport transfer with the hotel and that was very smooth and easy. The main advantage of Izmir airport is just under an hour transfer and scedule flights are at sociable times unlike most charter flights.
Kusadasi is not a very pretty town and so we were pleased to find the hotel resort was self contained in a perfect position on a hill just outside of town.
Hotel is less than 3 years old - looks and feels new and well appointed. We had 2 rooms on the sixth floor - very spacious, well appointed with light wood decor and good attention to detail which makes all the difference. Air con is absolutely essential, mini bar with soft drinks replaced every day was a nice touch. Good view from our window/ balcony looking out with a sea view rather then those rooms looking intowards over the pools ( and sea). Probably one of the best rooms we have stayed in a holiday hotel.
Staff were excellent - and everywhere! Management appear to be running a very tight ship- staff all in uniforms ( informal but smart). Very polite and efficient and all speak some English.
Ultra All Inclusive works well - could be a problem with bar open 24hrs - but no one abused that service or semed to get drunk! Friendly and efficient bar staff and waiters, especially in the main bar area. House wine was absolutely fine and served with meals as well as at the bars. Food was very good and plentiful - important part of our holiday. Hotel was fully occupied yet there were no real queues at the main buffet resturant - and it was great to have access to the a la carte resturants included in the price but requiring reservations in advance - we made reservations on the first day for each of the 4 ( Seafood, Italian, Chinese and Turkish). We found the quality and variety really good.
The Animation team were wonderful! They work hard to make sure that guests enjoy themselves - daytime activities, sports, aerobics and then a variety of evening shows in the amphitheatre.
Nice touches like the golf cart that takes you down to the beach bar and back up the hill, the water slides and plenty of sun beds and parasols.
The hotel spa was good and we recommend a Turkish bath experience ( probably best on day one or two) and the gym looked good but we didnt actually use it!
Overall view was that we had a very relaxing holiday - good food and lots to drink, enough entertainment to keep us and out teenage daughters happy.
Not many British guests for the first week - we like the international mix. French, Iranian, Turkish and Russian plus many others. Language was never a barrier.
Local bus very cheap and frequent, taxi also reasonable. Organisised tours readily available - but to be honest with such hot weather we were happy to relax, read , eat and swim plus join in with the animation team most days. There are enough sunbeds - and the hotel rule is that no reserving them with towels before 08.00am ( by which time some people are in the pool and sunbathing!).

Few negative things to report - the lifts are quite small and there arent really enough of them, resulting in some frustrating waiting! The disco/ nightclub was not operating for some reason - the animation team arrange a diso tour to the town most nights - leaving at midnight returning at 03.30.

We would very much recommend the hotel and would be happy to return.

Stayed one week in May 2008. An hour drive from the Izmir airport brings you to this giant at the outskirts of Kusadasi. As we have young kids, we booked two rooms which were spacious, clean and with very comfortable beds. The staff is friendly (amazingly I should add, as some all-in visitors can be quite demanding). The hotel is new, so no tired looking wallpaper or stained carpets in this hotel. It's a huge place, so expect some queuing at the modest hotel bar (all-in visitors can be quite consumptive); some queuing in the dining room; some queuing to get a chair or sofa in the public places of the hotel, etc. Dinner was "en buffet" with repeating dishes adapted to the West-European average taste; so not a lot of specialities from the regions. The hugeness of the place makes that the staff, although friendly, is not very committed and will not address anything out of their specific scope or task. For example, every morning at breakfast we heard the same cd on repeat. The music installation had a flaw: it went from dead silent to quite loud in a minute or three and then fell back to dead silent to loud... an endless loop which starts working on your (my) nerves. After a couple of days I friendly pointed out the problem and got a friendly yes back, but we had to endure the rollercoaster for the rest of our stay (music of Céline Dion I believe...). One evening, by accident I got the elevator to bring me to the private kitchen section of the hotel. I must say I did not need to be sent away as I dizzied from the smell... Luckily this happened to the end of the trip, but I lost my appetite a bit for the remaining days. The pool is large and beautiful. Do not know whether the hotel still keeps up with this habit, but when we stayed there, as of 10h00 some woofers were directed to the people lying around the pool and you got blasted with Turkish costa hits, loud and without a pause going on until 17h00 or so. No way to escape (a headache) if you wanted to stay at the pool.

Overall, although there are good things to the hotel (rooms, clean, friendly staff), this is not a five star hotel.

I have just returned from a two week holiday with my girlfriend at The Sealight. All we were looking for was a relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. From the moment we landed on the Saturday afternoon till we left, we didn't a find a single thing to really complain about.
On arrival we were checked in quickly and shown to our room on the first floor. I think we dropped lucky as we were on the end of a corridor with views overlooking the pool with wonderful sea views (Room 1210). The only one thing that could have been better was the bathroom and fittings which are looking a bit weary considering the hotel is only three years old. But saying this, everything was in workng order.
We both found the reception staff, bar staff, animation team and the majority of the restaurant staff very hard-working, helpful and polite. We tipped two or three of the bar and restaurant staff a couple of quid early on which paid dividends. They are really appreciative and don't forget a face, we were so well looked after from thereon in.
The main buffet style restaurant can get a bit hectic but the quality and variety of food, in my opinion, is second to none. We also ate in three out of the four a la carte restaurants and again they were of a very good standard.
Having been in Turkey last year and being on the wrong end of a lot of rudeness from predominantly Russians I was a bit dubious about the standard of service from the bars. I needn't have worried as all staff didn't put up with it and everyone (no matter what nationality) was made to queue.
There is the usual problem with sunbeds around the pool. We had to get up at 7.30 most mornings in order to get our spot and then wait with the beds so that staff wouldn't remove your towels before 8.00.
The animation team work very hard all day to try and get adults and kids alike to join in organised activities. We got to know two or three of them and ended up having a good laugh.
All in all, probably our best holiday together.

It's not on ladies beach, to go there one must take a taxi or a bus.
It's not a 5 star hotel at all to civilized standards: only a few of the staff speak reasonable english, they argue with you even when you've already decided not to say anything else for being useless, they're always right, they try to fool you all the times with timetables and services. At the beginning it started with the room, then the buffet is horrible: it reads 0pen from 7 to 9.30 but it doesn't inform you that it closes at 9.30, which is different, So, they take everything away at 9.30, foods and drinks, even if you're in the middle of the meal, it's incredible. Between 6 and 7 you can't eat anywhere and between 9.30 and 12 pm. also - when the room service starts. What they call supper, is a joke, it's bread (not even with butter or cheese...) and soop and pasta, along with pasta or tomato sauce... Nothing to drink. If some bar closes at a certain hour, if 5 minutes before someone decides to say "closed" that's what it is, at least for you, because if someone else comes after and dey decide that it's ok, they serve... The animation is for Russians or Turks, for the rest... forget it.
The keys are always malfunctioning, one has to go to the reception numerous times, the lifts are horrible, no a/c and very slow, and not enough.
So, simply, don't go, they are always right, arguing is pointless, you're not on vacation - they think you are working there and to follow their timetables and "just made" rules.
The beach, which in not on ladies beach, is a joke: rough sand, stones and incredibly small and crowded. Terrible, terrible, don't go.
