The Opus apart hotel accommodation was excellent, basic but very clean. The towels and sheets are changed every second day and there is plenty hot water for showers at night. The safety deposit box in the room is free and you have to pay extra for the air conditioning which is in the bedroom only.
The pool is the cleanest I've ever been in, cleaned every morning as is the sunbeds and the covers. All the staff are very friendly and attentive, a good laugh and a wee bit competitive with the table tennis when they are not busy!!
If you are going as self catering (as we were originally) I would advise paying the extra for breakfast, it is served from 8 - 10am and comprises of as much tea, coffee, orange juice, toast, cereal & the usual turkish breakfast of ham, tomatoes, cucumber, hard boiled eggs etc.
The only negative thing about the Opus is you have to cross a busy dual carridgeway to get to the town centre. The location is a 10 min walk to the centre of Kusadasi. Alternatively you can jump on a dolmus which pass frequently and give you a 'toot', costing approx 75p each.
We ate most evenings at the Opus as the food was so good and reasonable - tip, you don't really need to order a starter as you get plenty of fresh bread and butter and sometimes garlic bread / onion rings free!!
If you fancy a change I would thoroughly reccommend a £5 taxi to Ladies beach and eat at "Halikarnas restaraunt" where the food is excellent and the waiters and entertainment is brilliant.
We did 3 trips when on holiday and would recommend them all. We booked with the "Lykos agency" at Ladies beach as they were much better priced.
1) Adaland aquapark: £18 - £20 including bus to / from. Don't be fooled by the leaflets, you have to pay extra if you want to go to seaworld area (snorkelling, dolphins etc). £18 - £20 is for entry to pool / slides only but still worth it. Apart from the usual slides there is a dance floor area with a DJ pumping out music and people dancing with water spraying up, cool. You could go over 2 days and have a day at each.
2) Jeep safari: Brilliant day out but not for the faint hearted!! Remember to wear old clothes and preferrably trainers; you will not believe how filthy you get, possibly not able to use again!!! Basically the jeep drivers are all up for a mega fun day & each jeep competes against one another. There is loads of water involved, everyone gets soaked & filthy. There is a visit to a derelict monastry, a swim in a cave lake and finishes off with an hour relaxing and winding down at a beach. The ticket price includes a lovely BBQ - well worth the money.
3) Boat trip: 3 beaches. Good day out but it's not actually beaches as such you go to. The 1st stop you can get off boat & walk across rocks to get to a pebbly piece of land about 10 feet wide. The other 2 stops are lovely water that you can jump off the boat and swim around in to cool down. They do supply life jackets for anyone not comfortable swimming in the sea. Lunch and soft drinks in abundance all day are included in the ticket price.A good day out, a nice change from lying at the pool all day and actually works out quite cheap for your day.
The only drawback to the holiday (as usual) is the trip to the airport for the flight home.
***WARNING*** The airport is very expensive. Before going to the airport take cans of beer, bottles of water, packets of crisps / biscuits etc. I bought a small cup of coffee and a can of diet coke - 18 YTL (approx £9!!!) and saw a guy pay 15YTL for a large beer and 11YTL for a slice of pizza!!!
