“Family runned hotel! :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Love this hotel, have been 4 times, year after year. The staff are lovely and the food at the hotel is really nice (jimmy is the best chef) The pool is large with a childrens pool, there is a garden area and a park. I have become friends with a lot of the waiters here, they really are nice. The hotel has good entertainment. The hotel is about a 15 minutes walk from town. 10 lira to centre and 15 lira to the ladies beach...taxis are always waiting outside the hotel. There is large supermarkets at the bottom of the hill where the hotel is situated. Hotel always has returning guests.

Love it!!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view :)

We read the reviews on trip advisor and thought this too good to be true. It was even better. The staff are great and go the extra mile and a bit to make your holiday special . The chef creates great meals even though one of us is a veggie, it was no problem. They are also very good value. The rooms are basic but are bright and clean. Kitchen is OK for a very basic meal but eating out is cheap anyway. The hotel grounds are well kept and the pool is lovely. Shops nearby for basics and the bus station round the corner goes everywhere. It is about 20 minutes walk to the seafront. Lots of shops on the way. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Great for getting around, Great value for money. Booked again for next year. Looking forward to the holiday.

Basic but lovely apartments in a quiet part of town only a 20min walk or 5min Dolmus ride from the main scene. It covers everything you could hope for - cleanliness, helpful staff and relaxing atmospere. The pool is well kept and set in a nice little garden area with a bar and a couple of random animal cages tucked away to be discovered on exploration! I didn't dine here but there was a good range of food on the menu at good prices. The location is good if you're not worried about having a beach on your doorstep (The beaches in Kusadasi aren't so well kept anyway - I hope they are cleaner during the busy season.. but somehow they boast a Blue Flag award) and this is because you are next door to the main bus station for coaches and minibuses. Make good use of this, just wander along and tell a staff member where you want to go and he will point you in the direction of the correct bus. It is the cheapest way to see all the local towns and sites - PLEASE DON'T USE ORGANISED TOURS, they are expensive and more interested in taking you to local merchants to get more cash out of you. I very much enjoyed my stay in Kusadasi - there is loads to see and do and the Turkish are friendly and helpful.

Tucked out of the way from the beaches and hubub of the Market town of Kuşadası, this Hotel (or Otel) will suit those who like to travel to different places rather than have the beaches and restaurants on their doorstep. Though they're not that far that you can't walk it in 15 to 20 mins.
Worth noting the Apart and the Otel are seperate complexes but are next to each other.

Which leads me to the main benifit of this hotel - Being right next to the bus station (5 min walk) for both large coaches and the smaller Dolumus's. More on the Busses below, I've included info I wished I'd had at the start to save confusion...

The Arrival: Friendly staff and porter service to your room. Short explanation of the Key system. This hotel includes a small lift. though I can't be sure of the suitability for disabled people as there was a lack of ramps for wheelchair usage and as I said, the lift is pretty small and not on the ground floor.

The apartment: I had a self-catered apartment with 2 sharing. This consisted of a large Bathroom with western style WC & sink (some of the public toilets including the Airport in Izmir have the hole in the floor style) and a perfectly powerful shower with easily adjustible temp setting. This was a wet room so no worries about the water splashing outside the shower basin. There were hooks for clothes and towels and more than enough room to undress seperately from the utilities.

The Bedroom had a large double bed with a firm matteress and two large pillows. The bedding was loose and perfect for the local weather, though there were extra blankets in the double cupboard. The cupboard consisted of one large chamber with clothes rail and hangers. a safe and a shelf above the clothes rail. There was also a small single cupboard unit equipped with only shelves. There was a dressing table with stool that had a small draw and cupboard & the all important large mirror! The bed also had a bedside table with a small draw either side. There was an Air-con unit in the bedroom but there was an extra charge. In October we didn't feel like we needed this at all. There were thick dark curtains to keep out the morning light if you're in need of a lay in.

The Living area: Kitchen, Dining room, Livingroom and bedroom all in one!
The Kitchen had a Fridge with minimal freezer unit - big enough for one carton of juice to be chilled. The Fridge area was a standard half-sized fridge which was big enough for a couple of days food. There was an electric kettle as well as one you can boil on the hob. The Cooker... Well that was two electric hobs which is a bit limiting, but also allows for you to get creative with some food... Utnesils, plates, cheese grater, egg cups and even a lemon squeezer all included.

The dining room was a table with four chairs - cosy but comfy

The Livingroom: A large sofa bed, quite springy but comfy enough. A small single bed, again comfy enough and a small Television - They have some American Channels and a few Music Channels for the English speakers as well as Local, Italian and I think I heard a French channel too.

There was also a Balcony with 2 plastic garden chairs and a very useful clothes line for drying beach gear.

The apartment was cleaned every two days with a friendly maid. A nice touch was the swans made of towels on the beds.

The only real negative about the room I can find is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear some urm... interesting noises! Though I'm sure we made some too...

The complex: The outside is well gardened with a variety of plants and exotic palm tree's. There is a small pool and sun lounge area with a further garden complex that's in need of some attention. There was a very small "petting Zoo" with bunnies, birds Sheep and a dog which was kinda nice and a small kids play park with slides etc.

There's a small shop in the hotel for basics. A games room with various activities like ping pong.
We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment but it looked tidy and if you're into sports they showed football and Rugby. Though we did have a couple of cocktails at the bar - Some nice ones but I think they need to broaden their knowledge of rums a little!

There's a fish tank inside with a couple of large Tiger Oscars, an Albino Oscar and a couple of (presumably) Brown Plec's for those who like to look longingly at fish for a while. That's me :D

Reception: The staff were always friendly and non-invasive. Always happy to help out.

Check out: They phoned the travel company to see what time our transfer was coming to pick us up which was nice of them. There was a no-fuss checkout which was perfect for us. Key handed over, thank you for your stay and Bon Voyage!

You can hear the call to prayers, but it's quite feint and was actually melodic and added to the cultural feel of the holiday.

Shops near by: There are two Supermarkets near - Migros is the closest and is large, whilst not being amazing. The local Cheese is good but limited - so we found ourselves eating a lot of eggs, cheese and Bread. They do have a huge range of fruit juices which were really nice and some really nice biscuits!

Getting too and From the Hotel to places of interest!

The Dolmus minibusses are your friend! The main road is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It could be a nicer walk with some of the area dilapidated and under-developed... but there is a police station 2 minutes walk from the hotel and we never encountered any problems whatsoever.
The Dolmus station is just on the left as you emerge from the main road - But the Dolmus's will actually pick you up from anywhere on the road so don't go into the main station. Get to know the numbers of the busses - I think there are 7 numbers that pass bye. Jump on and pay the driver straight away.

Most drivers are well versed in English but here are a couple of useful phrases:

Centrum - The main town centre - one price for all stops

And on the way back, the most important is Otogar! That's the name for the main bus station and avoids getting the wrong bus back like I did and ending up in the middle of knowhere! However! The Bus driver was very nice and though we got the wrong bus, he actually dropped us off at our hotel! We gave him some more money as a thanks! Most of the Bus drivers seemed very friendly to tourists.

From the actual Dolmus station we got rides to Ephesus for around 5 Lira and the Dilek National park for 7 Lira each (one way). Both places have aditional fee's but the cost of doing things seperately rather than booking a tour make it worth your while. The Beaches at Dilek Park (Millipark) were much cleaner than the beaches at Kusadasi - we actually found them covered in cigarette butts...

Just further on from the Dolmus station is the main bus station. Any long distance travel you should come here. Mainly Pamukkale. There are a couple of Tour operators here that will point you in the right direction of the coaches you want - even to the Dolmus station if they don't do it.
We paid 260 lira for two to Pamukkale on a trip through Regal tours. It is 220 KM away (over 3 hours), but the actual price for entry to Pamukkale was 15 Lira. We did get lunch at a 5* resort where we spent a couple of hours - you could Bathe in the Mud pools for free which was nice - but then we only spent an hour at Pamukkale which is no way near enough time to explore the place. The trip got even more disapointing when we stopped at an Onyx factory for a demonstration and a look around the shop which took over another hour - This was not on the itinary and we were not happy as we got very little time at the main attraction we wanted, so my advice is to book your trips individually as Pamukkale was amazing!

We ate out in the Main town most nights for around 70 Lira each - My fave restaurant was Yucca. The local Busses run until 23:00 or 24:00 but the walk back isn't that far. There are also Taxi's available should you need it, but these are more expensive than the Dolmus.

I would recomend this hotel to those who like to get out and about and are not bothered about watching Fat Elvis at the local Bars and restaurants.
Kusadasi is a liberal Muslim City and there were plenty of women wearing sleaveless tops and shorts/ skirts.

Room Tip: Top floor as no noise from an above apartment

This holiday was just fantastic in every way. The Opus was perfect from start to finish. We booked this last minute and was very cheap so didn't think it would be that nice to be honest. We arrived to a beautiful hotel setting in the gardens with a lovely pool. We got upgraded to a suite on the second day for no reason, it was lovely! Massive memory foam bed, plasma tv and air con with huge living room area. We just couldn't fault it. We ate at the hotel every day the food was brilliant and so so cheap!! We just couldn't understand why it wasn't more expensive. The STAFF made the holiday. They could not do enough for us, constantly asking if we wanted anything - including bringing ice creams to us IN the pool! The one and only little annoyance was the lad on reception fancied my best friend and tried to phone our room a number of times to speak to her late at night. But It stopped after a couple of days anyway.
All in all this holiday was just the best and we will be coming back next year.
Thank you all so much!!! And thank you for inviting us to the Turkish wedding :) :) xxxxx
