“Just back from Kustur”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

We are a British husband and wife in our fifties, do not normally write reviews but here goes. We are not complainers by nature but would not say this was a five star hotel. Mostly down to the carpet in the bedroom area being grubby and also the sunbeds and sun mattresses were very tired and scruffy! The beach (sand) is also a bit neglected, but the sea was lovely and you can walk out quite a way before it gets too deep, the waves nearly knocked you over sometimes but it was great fun!! We feel it was more a family hotel, there were an awful lot of small children (we went first two weeks of September), which made for pretty noisy meal times in the buffet restaurant. Having said that, my opinion of the food is that it was very good, huge selection, even the most fussy eater should find something that they like! We did not try the A la Carte restaurants as my husband likes very basic English fare, Steak and chips for example, I do despair sometimes!!!!!!!!!!! so cannot comment on those. Also, the majority of tourists when we were there were French and German, very few English, it just made it very difficult to converse with other people or make friends (we obviously do not speak any foreign language ourselves). However, where possible we tried to use basic Turkish with the staff. The biggest downside for us was that there was nowhere to walk to outside of the hotel in the evenings. OK, Kusadasi town is only 5-10 by Dolmus away, but you do not always want to get on a bus. We also did not think that Kusadasi itself was as nice as other harbour towns we have been to (Bodrum and Fethiye being examples) so did not want to go there every night. On the positive side, all of the staff were extremely friendly and as accommodating as possible, at least that it how we found them, but by example, we were always polite and friendly with them, after all it costs nothing to be polite!! On the whole a nice holiday, very relaxing, we did nothing all day but sunbathe on the beach or quiet pool (we did not go to the pool with the slides, too noisy for us). We normally do a couple of trips but quite frankly just couldn't be bothered this time. Ephesus is only about 25 minutes away by car, worth a visit if you are into ruins etc we would think. Also, just wanted to say, we went with Thomas Cook and our rep Angela was a real sweetie, we did not need her services but we spoke with her a couple of times and she was always very willing to go out of her way to help or give advice. For getting around in Turkey we always use the Dolmus buses, very cheap. It is approx 2-3 miles to Kusadasi town and the Dolmus cost just 275 Turkish Lira per person each way!! Also, we travelled to Ozdere (45 mins away) and it only cost 750 Turkish Lira per person each way! (we felt we would have been better placed to stay in Ozdere as there were a few bars and restaurants here that we could have gone to for a drink in outside of your hotel facilities in the evenings. I suppose if you are happy to spend ALL of your time in your hotel and not venture outside then Kustur may suit you, we all like different things so can only say as we found it for us.

Room Tip: Rooms nearer to the quiet pool are quieter (as you would imagine) as they are further away from the...

We went to the kustur club with 6 friends in total.
The hotel is located very good, only a short taxi ride to Kusadasi and close to Ephese.
The beach is a blue flag beach, but a little dusty. You don't have to pay for sunbeds or umbrellas which is always a plus.
As for the food, it was basic, not that great. There was no great variety at the grill, this may be because the islamic people can't eat pork because of their religion. When there's fish it's always mackerel but the rest of the food was in general just ok.
The rooms are tidy, cleaned often and may be a bit old but hygienic and that's the most important part.
The alcoholic drinks are local, so there are no brands for all inclusive guests.
There's no great variety in animation, but the beach party was pretty cool, and worth the extra 5 euros.
Staff are friendly, Osman is a great waiter, some of them might look past you, but hey that's a restaurant I guess? ;)
At the pool they like to play very loud music so you might want to get a seat out of the decibels. At the beach they also play some music but less loud.

There was one point which I didn't like about the hotel at all. Every single day when you walk to the restaurant there's photographers asking to do a photo shoot. They exaggerate the positions, and then afterwards you can ask to view your pictures in a little wooden cabin near the pool. They charge 5€ per picture. Which is a total ripoff. So when you meet them, just decline or take the shoot and don't go to the cabin to see your pictures. After all, just go to the beach at around 7pm and ask someone to take some pictures, they will be great.

Overall, good hotel, no great variety in food, clean rooms, annoying photographers, nice pool, billiard/game room and little squirrels jumping around.

Just got back and I had intended to write a long review but actually Scott D of London has said it all. Lovely place, super beach, water sports and food. Just one thing, if you do not like walking or have a disability insist on a room 100-300 or 700+ because all the others are VERY FAR from everything. Having said that I found that the long walk to our 500+ room just ensured that despite the lovely food I did not gain any weight. The staff are nice especially the girls in the Ada Cafe and the team on the watersports. Hope to be back.

Room Tip: Maken sure your room is near to amenities since the complex is VERY LARGE.

just got back from a fantastic two weeks I didn't want to go home the staff are really friendly animation and water sports team are the best. i would be really disappointed if they changed any of the staff next year carlos and tigarna are really funny and friendly.
the private beach is the best and as for the man who runs the water sports/speedboat is one of the most genuinely nice person i have ever had the pleasure to meet.
the food is fantastic and the staff all make sure you are well looked after. can't find fault with any part of this place will be back next year

We have just got back from Kustur Holiday Village for 10 nights All Inclusive last minute holiday, which we absolutely loved every minute of it. We arrived at about 6:30am after quite a long transfer from Bodrum to Kusadasi, which was fine but just couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived it looked very grand from the outside with the gates, waterfountain, moutains in the background and how green it was. When we checked in our luggage was taken to our room as the room we booked was a promo room so it was 5 minutes walk from reception. We was a little worried about our room would be like considering it was a promo room, but to our amazement it was very spacious, very clean, lovely sized balcony and large bathroom. Very high standard! The air conditioning was free, the room was cleaned and sheets were changed every day. The food was great, there was a large variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it was all fresh. There was snacks in the afternoon after lunch, before dinner, and then a late snack from 12pm to 1am. If you wanted to you could eat all day! There was always food. The Al a carte restaurants were also great. Especially the panorama restaurant overlooking the sea, but you only need to pay a small price of 3 Euros to eat there, once you've paid that your food and drinks are all included in the price. The drinks were great too, they are definitely not small measures or watered down. All you needed was two whiskey and cokes and you was already tipsy. There are 5 free cocktails too with all inclusive which were also very nice. The entertainment was very good, of what we saw of them. The amphitheatre was really big. All the staff were very friendly, always smiling considering they work very long hours most days of the week. Especially Ayshen, veysel and his twin brother were very friendly and we had a laugh with them. The beach was very nice, literally just a walk under the under path and you was there, there was always sun loungers available, beer and soft drinks were served on the beach. If you wanted any other drinks all you had to do was make the quick journey of going back to the pool bar. Loads of watersports, the boat trip is a must as it takes you along the Kusadasi bay, and you get to swim and snorkel half way through. There are many excursions to do while you are away, we did quite a few, and all of them were amazing! I would definitely recommend Adaland SeaPark (Swimming with dolphins, sharks, fish), Pammakule, Ephesus, Adaland Waterpark, Speed boat trip and having a turkish bath (have the Turkish bath at the beginning of your holiday, and it helps with ya tan) I would also definitely recommend visiting Kusadasi town centre, you can get there by dolmus every 3 minutes and it only costs 2.75 TL which is about 95p. Kusadasi is really nice, loads of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Bar Street is very lively, with loads of nice bars and clubs. Also if you do fancy a night out of Kustur, and you fancy eating out I would recommend the restaurant Marvista (Kusadasi) opposite the hand with the birds statue, it's just back from the sea front over the road. The food is amazing, and lovely staff!! Also Golden Boys restaurant, it is a lovely night out with great entertainment. All in all, we have had the most amazing time at Kustur, I will recommend it to every one! We will definitely go back sometime. We were lucky to have beautiful weather for our entire stay, late 30's to mid 40's. Very beautiful place! A must for everyone. Thanks again Kustur for an amazing time.

Room Tip: If you have children or are elderly I would advise making sure your room is closer to the pools or r...

yolanda N.
We had a fantastic and enjoyable 10 day family holiday. The food was great, plenty of choices and fresh fish served daily, there were loads of fresh fruit and salads and choices for children as well. the serving area was clean ,the staff really friendly and they cleared the tables away very quickly, sometimes too quick, we wondered to the toilet and when we returned the plates had been cleared.! the rooms were fresh and cleaned daily, the towels and sheets changed regurlarly , all fresh and clean. the pools were nice and spacious, and my daughter loved the silent pool. we loved the beach as well, I would say the night entertainment was a bit boring, the mini club especially needs updating. however this did not dampen our spirits. Kustur was described as a 5 star holiday village in kusadasi, I would say 4 star as there were a few little things that need updating to make it a 5 star. I would still recommend this place and will go back again with my family. hassle free holiday,
