“Too few staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010

Just returned after an 11 night stay. Hotel is clean and rooms are of adequate size. Fresh towels were given every day although the carpet was never vacuumed during our stay. The air conditioning within the rooms needed to be full on all the time as it wasn't that powerful. Balcony was a good size and the views were pleasant enough. The hotel is in a nice location, although the nearest shops and amenities are a good 20 minute walk away. However there are buses to Kusadasi every few minutes and these will take you into the town for 2.50TL. The private beach is fairly small and you have to be quick to get a space. The main pool area was the focus during the day and again you needed to be up early to find a space. There are however well maintained gardens where you can lounge the day away.
The hotel is large and was getting noticeably busier each day. However with only one bar there were often long queues to get served. As usual this was made even more difficult by those who refused to queue and with only two barmen on duty it did become a problem. Drinks were fairly limited compared to other AI hotels we've stayed at. The hotel is equipped with other bars and restaurants, but these were not open during our stay despite how busy the hotel had become.
There was one main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and this seemed to be operating on the limit of its capacity most of the time. The food was quite varied and of a good standard, although being situated outdoors we found that flies were quite troublesome and often found landing on the food. The best thing to do was to take from underneath if possible.
Having stayed at many AI hotels, we were surprised at the level of wasted food at this particular one with people taking three or four platefuls that they couldn't possibly eat. I must emphasise that it was not the children and some where even filling Tupperware boxes to take food away with them. This was certainly not necessary as up to 10pm there was always food available. As well as the main restaurant, there was a lunchtime service beneath the pool area, although the choices were burgers, pizza and chips mainly.
The staff on the whole worked very hard and service was generally good, although we found that the bar beneath the pool area, serving soft drinks, gave very poor service with unhelpful staff on several occasions.
I would rate the hotel as no more than 3 star and all in all good value for money. There was no food served after 10pm and the bar closed at midnight. One big plus was the entertainments team. They were by far the hardest working and inventive team we had come across and deserve special mention.

Went to tusan hotel at a very cheap price. I had read reviews so i knew it was an old hotel and so the teenage kids stuck their noses up and commented that the hotel wasn't as nice as last years hotel in turkey. But it ended up being one of the best holiday we ever had.
The entertainent team very fantastic, even my boring fourteen year old jointed in the fun and my daughter loved them and they had time for every one. Never seen my son in the water so much.
Food good, always something to eat but was a bit cold when it moved to the outside restaurant. Room quite big and we had four in it, but our five foot bed was very hard. Nice swimming pool but could have been bigger and nice beach. Both the kids want to go back.
Ephesus is a very impressive and well worth a visit, we did the trip ourselves by catching the bus. Selcuk is worth a visit and kusadasi.

my wife and I just spent a few days at this resort and found it quite good in general, there were a few negatives: TV sets in the room are from the last century!, the staff for the most part is VERY inadequate and poorly trained. They hardly speak any English so communication for those of us who dont speak Turkish was difficult. But on the good side, rooms are clean, well kept, xomfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast were quite good and plentiful. Excellent location with a small beach and great ocean view.

Don't listen to bad reviews, stayed a week all inc' in May and had a fab time! Was with my partner and his two children 11 and 13. Start of the season, so pleasantly busy. Was quite hot in30's...can get in the 40's inpeak season! V clean hotel, staff always cleaning and maintaining gardens etc. Hotel staff very friendly esp Bulient in the restaurant who will look out for you and get you a decent table each time you visit and look after you with drinks etc. The outside veranda restaurant is gorgeous as it looks out onto the sea whilst you eat to amazing views.
The animation team were fab, Coco, Pikachu, Bibo, Katya, Dani and Kiku...they work extrememly hard throughout the day and night keeping everyone entertained, Kiku keeps everyone entertained around the pool - beware, don't loiter near the side of the pool or you will get pushed in! The Michael Jackson night is superb with an excellent performance by Bibo as MJ.
There is plenty for kids to do, table tennis, basketball, an arcade, tennis etc. Some of the sports equipment does need updating..we played tennis with some flat balls!
However the hotel as a whole is fab. we had a seaview room which overlooked the pool and bay which was a lovely sight to wake up to. The views are stunning.
if kids are fussy with food there is a snack bar that serves burgers, chips, pizzas and sandwiches during the day and the main restaurant has a good vareity of food.
A highly enjoyable holiday, would recommend for families and would visit again!
There were plenty of trips on offer but we didn't venture out of the hotel. Our Thomas Cook rep Laura was extremely helpful and friendly.

This hotel is great! The rooms are nice, ALL the staff are very friendly and helpful. The animation team are the best, there is something for all ages kids to grown ups. If you have young children the kids club is great. Plus a nice break to sunbathe kid free, and they have a mini disco for the children. Both the main pool and the kids pool are lovely and clean. The beach is also lovely, the hotel itself is laid out really well. Only 1.50 euro on the dolmus (bus) into town and takes about 10mins.

The food... The breakfasts were not that great, (rubbish cereals, cold meats /cheeses and awful orange which was water and some kind of orange powder). However there was the choice of fresh omlettes, pancakes and eggs made to order on the grill which were lovely, we had this every morning.
You could get freshly made pizzas at lunch time which were yummy, the hot food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner was nice... BUT steer clear of any of the salads/fruit/desserts, there was a BIG problem with flys, nothing was covered. We soon got used to the fly situation, so basically stick to the hot food as all the cold stuff are for the flys.

All in all it was a great holiday and I would return.
