“Animation team made the holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2011

Bloody hell, Jesus Christ, oh my god were do I start... had a fantastic 10 day stay at the hotel. The hotel is situated a short taxi distance from everywhere you may want to go such as into Kusadasi or the water park. Food in the hotel was OK overall but could be repetitive. The rooms were spacious and did the job. The best part of the holiday had to be the animation team, they went out of their way to make sure everybody was enjoying themselves, especially Kevin and Tayfun who were like a comedy couple and had me and my family laughing around the pool everyday. I would definatly go back to surmeli in the future and would advise anyone to go there as it was generally a great holiday.

Room Tip: Make sure to book a room with sea-view

F
irstly, me and my husband John have already been to Kemer in Turkey and straight away we felt that Kusadasi was a better location.
The hotel was beautiful, both during the day and night. As for the food, we didn't stop eating for 2 weeks. Turkish breakfast, lunch, dinner and the snacks were all delicious. As well as the waiters and waitresses being very friendly and always on hand with service and cleanliness.
We were kept entertained every day (apart from Sundays) by the Animation team, all of them (Kevin - the funny one, Toyfun - the sporty one, Bebo - the dancer, Danny - the chief (he loves his job), Cicco - the womaniser (or so he thought, sabotage), Ismail - the future footballer (whitney houston), Cemal - Dj Remix got us all dancing, Anna - the russian with love and Louise - the london gymnast.) kept us smiling, the activities were great and my husband tried to take part in all of them. My favourite part of the holiday where the animation team were involved was on one Tuesday night (comedy). After watching all of the acts, my stomach was in pain due to laughing so hard, I was in tears, it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen! In addition, the majority of the shows were dances and tribute acts, which were fantastic. The choreographer (Bebo) got every dance down to a T, michael jackson was our favourite, but that was matched by tina turner and also the themed dances (african, salso etc). We really enjoyed ourselves and always looked forward to 21:30pm every night.
Also, Selen was very helpful, she filled us in with all the information we needed, for example the A La Carte times, dates and a few recommendation. She also made it clear that if we weren't happy with anything or needed anything, she was always on hand to make sure we were kept happy, and for that, we were both very grateful.
So, from me (Kim) and my husband John, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy food, drink and a good laugh.
Kim & John - Room 531 - 14-28th May 2011.

During our 2 week stay, me and my girlfriend Lora were a bit sceptical as what to think (mostly being as we didn't have our full day until sunday 29th), this was because the Animation Team were not at work. However, it gave us a chance to take in our surroundings and explore the hotel. In addition to this, monday morning was a pleasant surprise. We were introduced to a bunch of people wearing bright blue t-shirts, The Animation Team. All of them, Kevin, Bebo, Toyfun, Cicco, Danny, Ismail, Cemal, Anna and louise were all very helpful and kept us smiling constantly.
On top of all this, the food was amazing, well prepared and the variety was endless, there was always something to eat.
The hotel itself was spotless, there was always somebody walking around with a broom or a cloth making sure everything was kept neat and tidy as well as being well presented.
Entertainment wise, we really enjoyed the night life, the disco and the acts, they were humorous at time, the choreography was outstanding (bebo) and lead animator (danny) made sure everything was well executed.

We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely consider going back there again in the near future.

5* from both Sam and Lora - Room 532 - 14-28 - May - 2011.

This is a great hotel, it's beautiful, but the best aspect is the entertainment and animation team, particularly Kevin. He always made the activities fun and entertaining. There was always an exciting twist to darts, and he always made everyone laugh during water polo. I've kept in touch with Kevin and the team since, and hope to go back again for more quality entertainment.

Hi. I don’t normally write about hotels but this time something really must be said.
We stayed at the Surmeli, Kusadasi in late May. While the hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff couldn’t do enough for you (except the reception staff) the whole holiday was ruined by the large amount of Eastern European student visitors. These people were rude, had no manners, ate like pigs; put as much food on their plates as the plates will hold and then leave most of it, thus stopping the other guests eating it. One particular person even tried to take a slice of pizza of my wife’s dinner plate
They would get drunk every night and make a nuisance of themselves. Why a good hotel like this entertains such visitors is a mystery to me. A 5 star hotel with 2 star guests !!!!
The hotel states that it has air con in the rooms and indeed it does. However it is switched off as the management states it’s not needed yet. In late May the temperature can reach 29C. At night the rooms are so hot you can’t sleep however without AC you need to open the widow. But the noise is so load you can’t sleep anyway. The management were trying to save money by not running the AC so you have sleepless nights.
The activation team were good at their job and generally kept everyone amused. The only problem was one particular member who became a pain by constantly asking people to write to trip advisor and say how wonderful he was. One member named Bibo was an absolute gentleman, the hotel is lucky to employ him.
On the whole, the hotel was excellent, a bit of the beaten track, but excellent. Our rep “Frankie” made up his own prices for the excursions, which were a complete rip off so beware. The food (when the students left some) was excellent and the drink kept coming. Would I go back???? If I could guarantee the Eastern European students were not there, and the AC worked, I most certainly would.

Room Tip: If you not happy with your room, complain about i.

Just came back from a great stay in the hotel. Its about the 15th time i stay there.
The food is great and the service is excelent. The staff is very professional and friendly. Everybody helps you and when you still have questions you can ask the girls from the guestservice. They know the answer on everything.
The location is very good, it takes only a few steps to get from the pool to the beautiful beach.

The animation team was great, they organized funny games all the time. We really enjoyed especially with Mr. Ciccio who was very attractive and made us feel very special as guests.
